Ashame… Ive been messaging through FB Messenger, no response. So I’ve tried calling finally got someone today (3/7/2024). Prior to them leaving Newport I had great experience especially with my daughter she differently abled they let her help them feed the animals and all. It was great but upon this phone call today I asked there hours, what they had and all because I wanted to make a stop out…. I was told they aren’t really open anymore because they do not have anything anymore and hung up on me 😶😶…. If that’s the case Google needs to be marked as close and the Facebook page Closed or Marked as No longer in Operation or something… I have no idea what to think. Maybe she was having a bad day but definitely left a bitter taste in my mouth just as a person not even as a past patron but goes the speak towards the past patrons as well…. So if you’re looking. Do NOT bother them as they DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING per the conversation I had. An I did not even mention what I was looking for as I did not have a chance since I got hung up on and heard CLICK…

I bought a bunny for my daughter on 12-2-21 his name is Willow. He is just the most loving and Cool bunny I’ve ever seen. We just love him. Thanks so much to the owners. They were great and allowed us to hold him and ask questions. He is a wonderful addition to our family.

Cute birds! Parakeets, Love Birds, Cockatiels and a lot of them were hand fed! I wanted to leave there with the blue and White Parakeet! She was just 6 months old! He reminded me of the one I had as a teenager! HIS NAME WAS “WHISPER”! He talked so good! Said my name, his name and gimme kiss!They had a really nice Turtle aquarium! Very open and lots of places for the tiny babies to hide! Adorable but FAST! They also have Guinea Pigs fairly cheap that need homes! Many Fish in many separate aquariums! A snake, mice, rats, Gerbils, Hamsters too! Unfortunately we were unable to hold any of their birds due to their wings needing clipped. We noticed that some of the stock in there was pretty dirty with dust but the workers (2) were informative and kind! I recommend checking it out

Very kind staff, talked to the owner for a bit and she is very nice and knows what she is talking about. I have gotten 8 fish from here and have had success with them. I think her pricing is fair as well and overall was a fun experience.

Very friendly and easy to get to know. Great place if you're looking for small tropical fish. They do carry cichlids and Oscars and other bigger fish but they start small. We always stop here first before anywhere else

I understand what the other review says about it being crowded. I love getting lost and seeing all the goodies I could be buying but it comes across cluttered. Maybe I caught you on an off-day because the dog seemed like the only happy one. I know it's rainy and gloomy though...There was nothing critically wrong with this store and I will keep coming back because of the variety of food & competitive price.

The first thing you notice when you walk in is the smell. I mean it's a small pet store so what do you want? They have a lot to offer and we found what we were looking for. The staff is helpful and willing to literally help you dig for what you're looking for, no matter where they have it stored. I would give it more stars besides the smell. We will go back.

People are lots of help and there is a large variety of fish that I'm unable to find elsewhere. Unfortunately all the fish I've ordered I have never received a call back telling me they are there. I live almost a hour away and am unable to simply drive to the store to check up on the fish in stock. When I have driven up sometimes I find the fish I had ordered have been there for a good time. It's very unfortunate that they are so unorganized that they are missing out on easy money. Thank you

Great little shop! Friendly, knowledgeable staff. I didn't think the place was cluttered. Owner working to organize it. They had everything I needed except one item and they ordered it. Watch the store mascot running around! This place will be my fish headquarters from now on.

I'm not sure what to think. It's less cluttered, I think, than with the previous owner, and the prices are better than Amazon on some things. The fish tanks are clean, as were the small animals, but there is dust everywhere and cobwebs in the merchandise. It also has a definite odor that is not pleasant.

The staff is always helpful and they have what we need for our bearded dragon. The prices are ok, you can usually make out better on the internet from direct insect suppliers and pet suppliers.

Its not very clean. I was looking for a dog bed and found a big spider living on one of them. Most items are dusty. The prices are too high. I shop online and save atleast 40% compared to this store.

I like this place its within walking distance of where i live. Only thing is double check everything. I bought a pair of "male" baby gerbils on February 1st. 1 month later I have a pregnant gerbil that i now have to buy all new housing for and find homes of all the babies because I thought i bought two males. i was specifically told it was a litter of all males.My son also bought a female betta from them and she seems to be doing pretty well. And when she wasnt i went back and asked what i should do and they knew exactly what to do.Some of the younger employees I dealt with seemed like they did not know a whole lot but over all they are a good store, and I'd still continue to go in there for stuff i dont want to wait for chewy to get.

Very rude!! Tried to return a rabbit I bought from there bc he’s eating literally everything I own and would not let me return him and get my money back all bc I had previously returned a rat that I bought from them that died within 1 DAY very very rude people the small animal area in the back smells horrible as they do not take care of it and I’ve walked back there and have seen a dead baby rabbit before plus multiple dead fish in the tanks would definitely not recommend going here

I was going to purchase some Merrick cat food pouches, and I looked at the best by date and they were all expired. They don't discard expired foods like Ron Steckley did. I am not happy that they would sell expired foods. I will purchase Homeopathic products from them but nothing else

Purchased feeder fish to feed my fish and now have ick in my tank. Which is killing my fish. Wouldn't suggest to anyone I support local business but I've gotten fish there twice and both times have gotten ick last ones died hopefully can save my fish this time

It is not the same since this business was bought from Mr. Steckley! You used to be able to get your questions answered and you where always welcome and greeted. Now you have to work your way through an over stocked store of things I am sure that don't sell. A kitten runs lose I heard to catch mice. The selection has fallen, along with everything the Stackleys built it up to be. Watch out for the free roaming dog in the store along with all the teenagers/workers gathered up by the register.

The place has a variety of things but I seen a couple dead bettas just floating in the cups and it was like no one cared. I hate petsmart and petco for what they do also, they need to only get a couple at a time so that they dont live a life in a cup and just die SMH

We waited for awhile before anyone came to the front desk and at that point there was a line of people waiting. People in line we're calling the place just to get someone up front. When we left we noticed 4 of the 10 fish we got were already dead

Love this store will definitely be coming back just like I have before but one or two complaints I do have is the labeling of the fish could be A LOT better and I'm also not sure how much they know about the fish I'm not sure if it's because they're so mislabeled or what but they usually have everything I need with very reasonable prices so like I said I will definitely be back

I didn't even want to give 1 star....I ordered a harness a month ago and kept getting the run around why u didn't have it still and after.seeing all the dead fish in ur tanks I shouldnt have bought any from u but I wanted to give u the benefit of the doubt and u were local but every single fish died right away and I had to go somewhere else to get a harness finally...I will go were they appreciate my business and not u
