Personally really liked the staff,, quality of stuff was good. There was a guy at the counter and welcomed my brother and I in. We stepped to the back area, checking out the place and found some pretty cool stuff. Only problem being was the prices are high. I didn't know what to buy and wanted to browse the section but I felt like a criminal being constantly watched. I don't like socializing and thought I'd be left alone as I browsed but I was constantly being watched and talked to. I ended up buying something because I didn't want to leave without something, we had already spent too much time there. He rang it up and it ended up being 15 dollars. I found the same thing online for about 8. He expresses that he doesn't get many customers and that stuff is piling up in the back,, I see why. The pricing is like x2 what it's actually worth. Literally saw plushies that would be 15 dollars at the mall, while the store's charging around 30. The mall's already expensive as is, but god,, the store here is charging x2 the price and not to mention you're being stalked 24/7. First experience was not great. Don't recommend unless you're an absolute fanatic and have a lot of money which you don't care about.

This place was great! They are a little bit more but there's a huge selection of trading cards.

LONG REVIEW DISCLAIMER I WENT HERE IN MAY 2022. First off, the store is still standing which is nice. The reviews from even two years ago seem very outdated, because when I went there wasn’t much stock of anything worthwhile as a mecha model builder. Most of the figurines seemed to be second-hand or poorly maintained. They had a few Gunplas, but not the full Mobile Suits (the mecha character), just accessory packs. The only thing that piqued my interest was a Bandai RE/100 Gun-Ez. The price on it was around 40-60 which was fine but I wasn’t in the mood for a “big high grade” which is how many people describe RE/100 grade models. The figurines seem overpriced. ALSO, all of the manga is behind a WIRE CAGE. Most of us anime enjoyers are not comfortable talking to people so I don’t want to ask the one, singular cashier in the store, who seems bored with her job, to unlock this barbariac cage that communicates to me that this store doesn’t trust their customers. I assume this store was a lot nicer when it first opened. The exterior of the store has chipping paint and the plants they had outside were overgrown and there were carpenter bees coming out of the roof.Secondly, inside the ‘aisles’ between shelves are really really tight. If you are a bigger person or have claustrophobic tendencies, you won’t like it here. I didn’t really feel welcomed and neither did those who accompanied me on this road trip to this store and a restaurant 30 mins away from this store. They weren’t really anime fans so they went back to the vehicle while I paced around trying to find something I wanted to buy to justify this hour long trip to a anime store in the middle o nowhere. You may be better off turning around and going somewhere else. HobbyTown, F.Y.E, even Hot Topic or the godforsaken Hobby Lobby may be more worth your time for Mecha models like Gundam or a figures from Naruto or Dragonball. All I found here that I was interested in was some old Hobby Japan model kit magazines from 2007-2009. I really liked this magazines and they were in good conditions, with the plastic cover on the magazine wether it’s the OEM cover from factory or one the store put on it. BUT, these magazines were on a table right near a window that didn’t have the shades pulled so those magazines there may be subject to fading from being in the sun. I was happy to find these old magazines because I had some like these when I was a kid. They store needs a major update and better arrangement of products, some books were just in clear plastic tubs, not even on a shelf. They bother to lock up the $12 mangas but they leave giant Marvel comic chronicle books worth $50 in an unsecured Tupperware only 6 feet from the door.Like I mentioned earlier, I went to this place way way back a year ago. That means my experience may not be relevant as they might’ve renovated but didn’t bother to post new pictures on their google maps page and try to get more people to come here. It’s kind of in the middle of nowhere. Just go to HobbyTown, they have plenty of MG Gundam and other cool figures and such, like Evangelion or Dragonball or Ultraman. I don’t want to make this trip back here as a Cleveland OH resident, it’s not worth the drive. I was disappointed. I don’t recommend this store as a road trip if u are an OH resident, if you live nearby it go ahead but don’t expect too much.

They import a lot of pretty good figures from Japan. They're really nice people and had a great time talking to them. Pricing is very high, but what do you expect when it comes to figurines. Still had a wonderful time tho.

Gold Star Anime is your one stop shot for all of your anime, Manga, and especially, trading card game needs. Their selection is incredible for both Manga, anime merchandising, and trading card games, the latter ranging from Pokémon to Yugioh to Magic the Gathering. They additionally have opening events for new sets of Magic which, if you're into the game, you cannot miss, giving out card packs, and getting to test the new decks the day they launch.Additionally, they sell bits and bobs here and there such as dice, card sleeves, card matts, miscellaneous card games such as Cards Against Humanity and more. You can find dice, figurines, action figures; its truly a collection worth looking at.They do have play spaces as well if you come with friends and want to play cards. The space is located in the basement which feels unfinished compared to the rest of the shop, but aside from that, this location is one you can't miss. The staff is very personable and the prices are very fair. If card games, anime, or Manga interest you, or you're just looking for a place to shop around, I recommend stopping by.

The place was too pricey. I bought two books and two packs of cards and it costed me $45.57. I later searched up the prices of the books and found them for less than $15. After I went to open both packs of cards, both of them were opened and the contents were most likely replaced with cheaper value cards. I can tell they were opened because when I picked up pack one the cards fell out of the bottom of the plastic wrap and onto the floor. When I looked down at the pile of 15 cards, they turned out to be ripped and folded. When I went to open pack two the top of the pack was wide open and the cards were in reverse order. I know this because I have opened up about $500 worth of card packs for Magic the Gathering and not one pack of the Kamigawa Neo Dynasty set, the set I have probably opened the most of, had a token card first. The order of cards goes common(black set logo), uncommon(silver set logo), rare(gold set logo)/mythic rare(orange set logo), and token card. When I "opened" the already opened pack it was in reverse order, token card, rare, uncommon, and common. The place looked sketchy and turned out to be sketchy. Be wise and spend money for cards and books at places like Walmart, which has a location in Edinboro, PA or online stores like Amazon or tcgplayer.com, where I buy all of my cards.

There's a great amount of stuff in this building. But being followed around and watched closely by staff made it feel extremely unwelcoming. When checking prices of an item the price on their website did not match the supposed price of the item by 200$. Beware buying anything from here unless you want to spend more than it's worth and feel like a criminal the entire time your there.

This shop has just about all of my favorite things: Anime, Boardgames, Figures, Manga, Magic the Gathering, RPG, and more. I have played in the MTG tournaments and I like the climate there better than other locations. More chill and accepting. Even if you have the travel a bit to get there, it is worth the trip.

I love this shop. I used to live in the area and the owner is amazing. He really puts a lot of time into trying to make a unique space for his gamers. His wife is from Japan and goes back often, so be prepared to find rare anime and collectibles. It's also right off the highway, so of you're just passing through, stop in. Games, dice, anime, collectibles, books, if its nerdy...they probably have it. If they don't, they can order it for you.

A great little place for fans of anime and Magic: The Gathering. I've seen items I never thought I would see in real life on the shelves there. The owner is a very friendly and helpful person. Overall, it's a great store for your anime and CCG needs.

oh my goodness, this place is amazing!! you people posting negative reviews about the prices have to realize that anime figures, especially bigger ones, are very expensive no matter where you go. also, the customer service is great!! the lady at the desk is so sweet and helpful! they have so many anime figures and i’ve bought from here many many times, it’s the best place i know :> ❤️

Walked in, and no body was there to great me at the desk, untill a lady walks up with no mask on and asks if I need help. I asked her prices on a few things and she is asking what price gaugers are asking for product. I never been in there so I wanted to look around so I went in the back area and there was a guy eating and watching a video on his phone. So clearly he had no mask on, and I was listening to this random video as I shopped. I walked back to the front to ask the lady one more question and she was no where to be found.

Been in there a couple times, very very uncomfortable. Most of the time the owner is in the basement playing games with other people while what I assume to be his wife runs the desk. I tried asking a couple questions but I don't think she really spoke english so I never figured out the prices.

It's a nice store to get comic stuff and anime and cards. I do like it there but for people who don't like small confide places probably wouldn't want to be there long. They do host D&D nights.

Wide variety of manga and figures if you're into it. Card game tournaments are held in the basement every weekend, including yugioh and magic. The owner is a real nice guy, but it would be nice if every other sentence wasn't about selling me something.

Probably the top 3 best anime store in the PA/NY area. Prices slightly high but quality and selection is worth it! They have an eBay page too!

If I am driving anywhere near edinboro, I always make this a priority stop, at least once a year. While it is fun to see them at conventions, sometimes it is just better to look at their selection in person. And it is an eclectic mix of OOP manga titles as well as new releases. For me trying to finish old pop series while working on new series as well it is a wonderful fit.

Always a great place to stop by, owners are super friendly and the game room downstairs is a nice place to set up and play for free! Great selection of D&D books and miniatures.

Everything is so expensive example: 10" dragon ball z figure is $250.. Not to mention the final fantasy collection around $700 per figure.. I looked up the same figures on eBay with the filter "buy now" and found them for 90% cheaper. The staff looked confused when I asked if they have a Gal Gadot wonder woman figure. The place it's only good if you have any kind of card games addiction

Great for the local Anime fan. Wide selection of Anime, manga, and collectible figures. Found a few rare gems here and there always seems to be more to find whenever I go back.

Super disappointing that everything is locked up and all manga was behind literal wire fencing so you can't even read what a book is about. Good selection but really bad shopping experience.

Decent place to get sealed MtG products. Can be a little overpriced but good selection. Front area feels very cramped, staff was helpful.

Great people great selection the only thing keeping it from 5 star status in my eyes is the prices on figures are slightly high compared to other places I have been. Regardless of that it is still the best store I have been in for the area.

This little nook is a nerd's paradise. Even includes a bathroom when you are there for tournaments. The basement also has a cool water/plant feature

While there seems to be a rather large selection of anime, about 15-20 percent of it sits on a rack facing the window with no blinds, this means that the entire section of inventory is sun bleached. I'm not sure how I would feel about spending full MSRP on what is a damaged product, I didn't know the extent of the cover bleaching, however, because all of the merchandise aside from the large figure boxes are behind locked fencing. It makes browsing essentially impossible so only go if you know exactly what you want to buy as far as manga goes.

The people that work here are friendly enough! The prices are a lot more on the higher side though and it's tough to go in to even look when you know what you want, and what they're asking
