This was our first visit to Smithfield with my little old lady, Olive. Everyone is the office and the Dr were amazing, kind and helpful. Claudia the tech went above and beyond to explain what needed to be done for Olive at her age. She also explained the different wellness plans and helped us select what was best. Most importantly she kept Olive calm. Now she is home resting.

Bringing my new puppy in for her wellness visits and all of her shots has been a wonderful experience. I have always been asked if there are any questions or concerns and given plenty of time with the vet and all of the techs. Kudos to Kristi for for helping me feel comfortable in cutting Maple's nails. Thank you to all of you for all that you do!

I always feel so comfortable when bringing my dogs here. Claudia has so much patience and takes her time with my older dog. Sierra is helpful and approachable and Linda always answers all of my questions and makes my experience so personable.

Dr.Carney is wonderful. I trusted her immediately. We just picked up our cat after the dental procedure. She did her job well and called after the procedure was done to let me know all was well and what she thought about the cat’s health. Everyone in the hospital was so helpful and nice.

Amazing staff! They were so helpful with a stray I had brought in so I could get him checked and vacced to bring inside. Reasonably priced and super friendly people. I won't go anywhere else anymore for my animals. Highly recommend this veterinarian

Claudia and others from the Smithfield team are always very thoughtful in their care with our dogs. We have one dog who is relaxed as long as there are no big noises and a second dog who is always anxious during his visits. They are flexible based on what each dog needs. Smithfield also offers different payment options for owner flexibility too.

I have been going to Smithfield animal hospital for 27 years and they are amazing. I want to give an extra shout out to Kristi who is like the animal whisperer. She is thorough, gentle, and affectionate with the pets. In addition to her expertise handling of my cat, she has a super sweet bedside manner. Always treats customers with the utmost respect and patience. She is the biggest asset to this business.

Always a good experience whenever we take our critters to Smithfield. Today, we took our kitten Silly in for her check-up and initial shots. Claudia was very kind and caring and professional. The fill-in doctor was also great as were the rest of the staff.I highly recommend Smithfield for all your fur babies' needs.

In December 2023, we welcome an addition to our shitzu family Peebles and Bambam. On their first visit to Smithfield Animal Hospital the staff were very welcoming. During their visit we met Nurse/Tech Kathleen Coklin who WOWED us. Katleen made us feel as part of the Smithfield Animal Family with her demeanor. She is very knowledgeable, detail oriented and passionate of what she does. Kathleen listened to us and was very knowledgeable in explaining their vaccination process and what they were having done on their first visit and how well they did. She has a passion for what she does, and her customer service skills are impeccable. She ensures us should there be an issue with the labs a follow up call is made. Dr. Adam G. Boe, leads by example and is amazing. He amazingly extracted several teeth from my 12-year-old Shitzu, who was miserable and now is enjoying life again with her siblings.He Treats you with the utmost respect explains the Pros/Cons and makes suggestions that benefit your pet. He follows up and is on point with his recommendations.We love this location the leader and team members. Highly recommended.

The atmosphere was awesome. My Cat 🐈 surprised us truly. The vet said that our cat behaved wonderfully and we was afraid that the vet was going to get scratches. Thank you for taking good care of our cat Severus!!!

The vet was very friendly and it was easy to get appointments. What I didn't like were the prices. They were not explained before hand and left a shocked moment each visit. I actually drove an hour to my mom's vet to put my dog to rest because there was such a huge cost difference. The only other thing was that there is no organization between those checking in and checking out. People are waiting to check in and when people come out of the rooms to check out, they cut in front of those checking in. Then the receptionists don't notice and you could be left waiting there for 15 minutes or longer trying to check in cause the lobby is chaotic with who was first.

The staff is empathetic and compassionate. Dr. Boe answers any questions you might have. The entire staff is a credit to their profession.

REALLY expensive and I've had bad interactions with staff. UPDATE: Also, the response below from the hospital is also not true, I was 10 minutes late to the appointment, yes. The appointment was scheduled for 9:15am. Smithfield called me at 9:23am to check in. I pulled in within the next two minutes, apologetic as I was in fact late, as my kitten was being a handful. They assured me it was no problem and I thanked them. The doctor was very nice. The tech however when scheduling me an appointment made a dig at me for being late saying, "well schedule this appointment for a time you can actually show up on time" Listen, we are all people and I can understand maybe she was having an off day, just like I was. But come on, a little rude. Then the bill hit. Close to 400 dollars. Spoke to some locals and found somewhere I can go for cheaper. Was not interested in making a long winded review. Thought when they called me to talk about my review and I thanked them for their care up to this point and told them I would not be returning that would be the end of this. However LIES I don't really care for. So I thought I'd clear some things up for anyone who's looking for an honest review.

This place is pretty expensive just for my dog to see a VET TECH was 200I overheard some poor woman pay 300 to have her small dog groomed and judging by the results it was not gonna be winning any dogs shows, so I'm not sure how you justify that price. The worst part though is they sneak flea tick and heartworm meds in the bill bc they get paid to sell it to you. This stuff gave my last dog seizures that she had until she died...OF LYME DISEASE so wasn't even worth it. Do your research before poisoning your dog.

Today was my cat, Niko’s, first visit n it was very pleasant!! I was very nervous to take him somewhere new but the 45 minute drive to NJ is too much so my friend recommended this place!! So far so good in my book!!! All the staff was very friendly, it’s clean n the doctor was very kind most importantly…my cat was very relaxed there :)

The staff here is an awesome group Dr. Boe took great care of my baby untill his last moment. Thank you to the staff that made the transition a little easier. After the passing of my lovely furry son a couple of days I received a condolence card from doctor bow and the staff.

Very clean and the only reason I didn't give 5 stars is met the doctor who I liked but only for a second the assistant did everything, and asked me to help holding him down which I was not happy with, my poor guy was scared enough and it hurt to see him like that 😢 and for me to force him down was just awful 😢 💔put your volume up to hear the assistant to tell me I have to hold him down, horrible thing to ask an animal owner to do, he needs another treatment coming up, this time I definitely will tell them I want the doctor with her, not me !!

Great experience. We chose this doctor purely on location. Fortunately it was a really good decision. The doctor and staff were great with our dog and took the time to answer all of our questions.I want to add to my review from a year ago, Dr. Boe and staff are still as great as they were at the first appointment a year ago. I’ve gotten to know the staff and they are all wonderful. Claudia is great with my dogs and cats and always takes the time to answer my questions.

This is hands down the absolutely best vet around ...Dr Boa is kind patient thorough and a down to earth caring Dr.. my baby is special needs and he is Great with her ... the front office staff is outstanding and are always prompt and efficient..This entire staff team gets big kiddos!!!!
