Best of all, they are honest about repair work time frames and their availability. Both Daryl and Tom make useful recommendations for parts and accessories and only recommend upgrades they believe would really help improve the ride.

We bought my wife's bike here after visiting several other bike shops in the area. Daryl was really helpful, very patient, and fun to talk to. I ended up taking my bike there to get serviced a month or so later. They were very thorough and made sure my bike is tuned up. All for a reasonable price too - definitely recommend.

I was making some minor adjustments to my derailleur the afternoon before a race and I somehow made an error I was not able to fix. I called the shop in a panic and they calmly talked down and told me to bring the bike in. Within an hour, they had it fixed, cleaned up, and race ready. My bike has never shifted so smoothly! I was thoroughly impressed and I will definitely be returning. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend this bike shop.

I have been riding and racing for over 20 years. *THE* Downingtown Bike Shop has always been there to get me out on the rubber ASAP. Their customer service is only outdone by their quality of work. It is the only shop in town I will have my bikes (N+1) serviced.

I wish I could give them 10 stars. I recently moved to Downingtown and was looking for a place to tune up my Cannondale.Firstly, the in-store customer service was excellent. Being that I'm new to the area, they sent me a PDF outlining some of the better riding here.Secondly, not only were the prices significantly less expensive than the competition, but when I needed a part replaced, they offered a lightly used part that they had in stock. They quoted me 2 to 3 days and were done in less than 24 hours.Finally, I'm extremely happy with the work they did. When I took my bike there, it was starting to have trouble getting to all of the gears... Now it's shifting through the gears like new.Downingtown Bike Shop will be getting my loyal service from here on out.

We've had nothing but positive experiences with Downingtown Bike Shop. They were able to replace a tube on my daughter's 12" balance bike wheels when another local shop was unable to do it. They also fixed a problem with my Trek road bike shifter that other shops in the mainline area have been unable to resolve ever since I purchased the biked in 2013. It is a relief to FINALLY have a fully-functional bike after all these years. I wish I would have found this shop sooner!

As the former owner of Hybridcycles I send my customers there for e-bike tuneups and maintenance. Tom C, our former shop manager works for them. He is one of the “best” and the whole organization is just fantastic. Also, check out their new line of electric bikes. Very practical and reasonably priced.

Good prices, lacking customer service. Bought a bike here, and while the price was great, the sales person I was working with was no where near friendly, nor helpful. Thankfully I knew what I wanted and they had it in stock. My wife was looking for a new bike and the salesperson was so unfriendly that we went elsewhere that day and bought her a bike. We liked the service so much from the other shop that we bought 3 bikes from them. Just recently called to ask about a few parts and person that answered the phone acted like I was bothering them and told me they do not have it in stock and hung up. Will not call nor buy from again.

So my step son bought a kona lava dome mountain bike very nice bike it came with tubeless tires and tubeless rims but the wonderful people at this bike shop drilled holes in the rims to put tubes in the tires mind this wasny requested they just did it.Honestly I believe they have ruined the bike and my step son deserves money back....

I had a feeling that the local bikes shops are expensive and for that reason I usually shop online for parts and DIY things. Was shopping for 11-32 cassette and it's either out of stock or would take more than 2 weeks for delivery ( even for AMZN prime ).Was curious if any of the local bike shops have the cassette in stock and called them. To my pleasant surprise DBShop has it in stock and their price is a dollar below AMZN and eBay.Though I can do assembly, I took a chance and asked for the installation. They did it in 10 minutes and additionally they fixed the lose headset with and extra carbon fiber spacer and wobbly break caliper.Yes I had to pay service charges but they made my day easy and nice.BTW I browsed the shop while my bike being serviced and noticed that the prices are very competitive and match AMZN and eBay.I am proud of you "The Downingtown Bike Shop".

Can't recommend these guys enough. I told them that I was new to the biking world, and they took the time to show me bikes in each category, price points, and explained the different levels of riding. Never once did I feel pressured, or feel like I didn't belong in the shop. They even let me test ride a few bikes to get a feel for each bike. The next time I stop by, I'll be leaving with a new bike!

Managed to get a flat tire about 100 yds up the road from here and had to make an emergency stop. Guy at the desk figured out the problem, put on a new tube and had me back on the road in under 10 minutes. As an unexpected walk in customer, couldn't be happier with the service and the price was more than reasonable.

Like another reviewer has stated I also found the owner dismissive. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt (ala soup nazi), if he gave me great service. I brought my bike to have my front derailleur adjusted and I explained the issue I was having and their service actually made it worse for $60. I took it home adjusted it myself (first time I attempted this) and had much better results.

Paid $60 for a tune up ($40 with coupon) and all they did was lube the chain and tighten the derailleurs. No new brake pads, the handlebars are still misaligned with front wheel, tire pressure not right, and nothing else was cleaned, tightened, or lubricated. Plus they were very unfriendly. Then on top of it all they charged me $10 extra to fix a bent gear. What a joke!

Saw a lot of reviews on here claiming their customer service was not good and when people have tried calling them the telephone customer was worse..but i just got off the phone with them and the guy i spoke with was extremely helpful and very polite and well spoken. They must have fixed that issue. I WILL be going in and buying a bike based off the telephone call. Glad i didnt base my judgement off others reviews alone
