A long time favorite for many locals for a very long time! Great, FRESHLY baked (on site) soft pretzels. In addition to the "standard" pretzel shape, Smittie's offers large pretzel "sticks" and bite-sized as well. (Also miscellaneous items like soda/ non alcoholic drinks).The location is a renovated, roadside type stand, (look for the white "lighthouse" on top) and has very friendly staff. Smittie's is well worth the time to stop in and enjoy a local, traditional treat.Smittie's is in the northern, rolling hills of York County, PA. The road (PA Route 74, just north of Dover, PA) is often used by area residents in the Autumn for good fall foliage viewing. The nearby Gifford Pinchot State Park is worth visiting for pretty views any time of year!NOTE: Parking is a bit tricky at times (just depends on random timing, space for a few cars) and is just off a well paved roadway (PA Route 74), northbound side. (The road is not divided, so you can access the parking lot from southbound or northbound).

this place is a local hot spot for the areas best pretzels. They make them fresh on site and offer a few different styles and flavors. The hours a pretty much only weekends, and you have to get there early before they sell out of things, but it is worth it. The pretzels are hot and fresh and delicious. Just be careful when parking as parking is very limited and along a major roadway.

I paid 13.50 for a bucket of cinnamon nuggets and they legit taste like melted plastic. Soggy, awful melted plastic. The soft pretzel I bought my wife was okay. But, seriously. The cinnamon nuggets were not fit for human consumption.

My family and I enjoy Smittie's Pretzels, and we LOVE the slushies! Can not beat the price when paired with a "local flavor" coupon! There's a lot to be said about a local company that's been in business for 85+ years. Thank you! Cheers to many more years of soft pretzels!

I grew up eating these pretzels, I love them. I hate driving here to find that they are closed, it’s a long drive. The website says they are open Sat & Sun only. Google maps says they are open until 2pm Wed... Well it’s Wednesday, 12:23pm and they are not open. The sign on the building says they are open Friday (12-5p), Saturday (10-5p), Sunday (10-5p). But I have been here before during the week and they were open several times. I am at a loss.

Hidden Gem, I lived in Dover for awhile and unfortunately I didn't know about this place until about two months before I left and it was definitely too late. They are only open certain times, but they are super good. Got to get it with the cheese. Just a quality Pennsylvania soft pretzel.

Smittie's is always a win! Local privately owned business providing soft pretzels and all of the varieties at their road-side counter. Open year round.You can also buy frozen, individually wrapped to reheat in your home/business. Each package also comes with a salt pack as well.#buylocal#supportlocal

I honestly would not recommend this place to anyone. I just went there for my first time and was extremely disappointed. They were out of slushy‘s, and swiss cheese. I got the cinnamon sugar nuggets… Definitely don’t waste your money, there is barely any sugar on them and they taste 1000 times better at Auntie Anne’s. The soft pretzel is dry and has no flavor. Will not ever be returning to this place. Don’t waste your money.

I've always been a fan of Smitty's Pretzels until I was told the pretzels were $5.00 each. This was at the Dillsburg Farmers Fair. Was the man selling mistaken on the price. I'm sure he didn't sell very many at the inflated price?

Yum yum nice & hot pretzel with no salt. The other people in my group got pretzels with salt and were all pleased as well. Service was fast & friendly. Will definitely go there again.

Roadside stand with more than just pretzels. No formal eating area as this is more of a take out or quick snack stop. Friendly staff small parking area. Prices are ok.

The pretzels there are really good! I enjoy them. I don't like that there's hardly any place to park. But you get in and out quickly so it's not so bad.

Smitties pretzels are as good as ever. Getting in and out is as difficult as ever also, especially if you are traveling south. Safest if you leave heading north an then find a place to turn around.

Awesome little pretzel place on the side of the road (quite literally) They have good service and great pretzels. If you’re ever in our little small town, it’s a fun and unique experience.
