Very good Chinese food. Spring rolls were tasty, nice crunch on the outside but the inside was a little doughy but still good. Wonton soup was very good, lots of wontons that had a good amount of meat inside, very good broth. General Tao’s chicken was excellent. Large portion and just the right amount of heat. We will definitely be ordering from Joyful House again.

It's not really eat in. It's more take out than anything else. And they work so fast. They have a wide variety of dinners. Oh don't forget to try the shrimp egg roll. The won ton soup is very good and also the pork fried rice is scrumptious You really get a lot for your money there. I really believe they are the best Chinese food around. I am a very picky eater. My pallet is difficult to please. To me it's excellent. I come all the way from the city of Reading, PA. and go-to Douglassville to Joyful House to get the best Chinese food around anywhere. They also have a great cold Iced tea that I like, it's their own specialty brand of iced tea. I personally liked the dinner"Happy Family"which I get often cause it is has a combination chicken, beef ,and in it with a lot of vegetables in it too.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Do not plan on your order ever being made. I placed an online order, went to pick it up 30 minutes after doing so and it wasn't ready. When questioned, they said they forgot to look at online orders (why is that an option on their website then????), and they would make it as soon as possible. I went back home, waited and hour and called to make sure it was ready. The woman in the phone said it was being made and would be done in 15mins. I left about 10 minutes after the telephone call and live 15 minutes away, it still was not ready. I paid, and waited another 20 minutes and they never started making my food. This was a special dinner for my family and they straight up lied to us on the phone and to our face. WE WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN. AWFUL SERVICE.

Hands down the best sushi place in the Berks/Chester/Montgomery county area. Everything is always fresh and delicious. Have been going there for over 10 years and even when we travel to major cities we don't find better sushi. The staff is so nice and always offer great service. Used to go in weekly when I worked in the area, now I go a few times a month. Of special note are the Shrek roll, spicy crab roll, and Green River Roll. Also really good Thai tea and apps!

This was our first time visiting Joyful House but it will not be our last! The staff was very friendly and service fast. The food was delicious! Everything was fresh and full of flavor. Highly recommend!

Scallion pancakes were rubbery. Couldn’t eat without picking them up by hand and trying to tear. Wonton soup seems like it’s beef broth rather than a soup or stewing hen broth. And the roast pork egg foo young completely fell apart trying to get it out of the container. I’ve never had that happen before. Plus lacked flavor. Below it asks if we had dine in, take out or delivery yet I’ve never seen delivery as an option.

Best Asian take-out food in the Douglassville area! We often try new items and we've never been disappointed. Some of our favorites are the Pink Lady & Godzilla rolls, chicken lo mein, and the Singapore Mai Fun. The dining area inside leaves a lot to be desired, but we always do take-out anyway so it's never mattered to us. Highly recommend checking them out, you won't be disappointed!

Date of visit: Thursday 29 August 2019. This was my first time dining here. I ate in and ordered the lunch "special" Chicken Chow Mein with an eggroll on the side. No soup or soda included in their special. The chicken chow mein was spicy but I enjoyed it because I was starved. I discovered this restaurant just by driving around the plaza after getting off of 422. I doubt that I will return again because the Joyful House is far from my home. Try it, you might like it.UPDATE: I visited on Tuesday February 1, 2022 and thanks to Covid, they are now open for take-out only. I left because I do not want to eat my lunch in my car.

This place is great. Been here a few times now and each time getting something different and the food was the best around compared to other Chinese restaurants I've been to. Decent portions, prices, fast service and it seems the quality is also better than all other places I've ordered from. Just wish Joyful House was closer to where I live.

This is my favorite Asian restaurant. Whether I'm in the mood for Chinese food, Thai food or sushi, it's my first choice, even though it's a bit of a drive. The service is fast, the food is fresh and the people are friendly. I especially love the Tom Yum soup (pleasantly spicy with a touch of sweetness from pineapple) and the cucumber special roll (a tasty low-carb sushi pick), everything I've gotten there has been good.

Used to be 5 stars but lately food quality has gone downhill. Food is either bland or fatty/greasy. I’m not sure what changed but for a place that charges more than the competition I expect better quality. Still friendly service when you visit though. Hope they go back to how it used to be.Prior review:Best in the Dville Area. Food is always fresh and delicious. Price is a bit more then the others in the area but worth it for the quality of the food.

I have ordered from here for many years. I have tried a lot of the items on the menu. Every time is consistent, made to order and uses fresh ingredients - especially the sushi and vegetables. I really like that they have Chinese, Japanese and Thai dishes on the menu. The sushi is not what you would expect from a strip mall take out joint. It is top notch, and I will continue going back for more! Keep up the good work Joyful House!

Just ordered tonight, got hibachi chicken and shrimp… chicken looked weird. Took a bite and it seemed raw!!! Was gray, soggy, and slimy. It was disgusting. Threw away our whole $50 meal. Reporting to whatever health department.
