I’m sure there are passionate doctors and employees here who truly care about your pet’s welfare, but my experience didn’t reflect that.I’m rational. I’m aware that I, like many others, care (too much) about my dog. He’s a 1.5yr old border collie, for context. I’m sure the team here interacts with good, great, and horrible owners every day. I can understand how you’d become jaded after dangerous encounters with aggressive dogs and unequipped dog owners. At the same time, none of that has anything to do with me. I have one dog, and we have one experience.I’ve never felt more like a (burdensome) cog in a system. I’m trying to navigate my dogs recent behavioral changes. I came here with a muzzle, a bag of treats, a ball, even a halti. I’m doing my best to explain my dogs circumstances to the vet tech, who my dog is initially *happy* to be around when she suddenly reaches right above his face when he’s not looking.He lunges, as she pulls her hand away, and as I apologize and reach down to take off his halti and put his muzzle on him. She was expecting it, because she was effectively testing him to see how he’d react.She leaves as I’m putting his muzzle on. Not even 30 seconds later, the doctor barges in for the first time as I’m *still* in the process of putting his muzzle on. He pulls out of my hands, lunges again, and the vet makes a snarky comment about how she “can tell” he’s in no shape for a visit today - such keen intuition.I love my dog and we spend a ton of time training together. He’s incredibly smart and well-behaved. Still, I’m no dog trainer, and I need direction on how to make this visit go smoothly just like he does.If you’re going to treat us with your SOP for aggression, that’s fine. But my whole experience was so unbearably artificial that I left embarrassed, feeling like an idiot.Nobody was forthcoming about anything. I indicated he was protective in his pre-visit paperwork - a simple phone call and I would’ve agreed to sedate him before I ever even visited. My expectations aren’t crazy - simply *try* and convince me you give a s**t about my dog and I’m happy.to top it off, my ‘return’ visit was scheduled for two weeks out which is maybe my own fault - I was upset. but I left the building on a wednesday with the understanding that I’d come ‘right back’ on Monday. unfortunately I didn’t catch that until after I had already sedated my poor dog. Attached is a picture of Ace. He’s not mad, just disappointed.

We had to take our little girl Nizhoni in this week. We usually see Dr. Geoff, but he was in surgery. So we saw DrPaul. We are waiting for results of blood work and urine tests. Their is no other clinic I would trust with my fur babies.Everyone from the front desk staff, nursing staff to the doctors have always been the best. We have been going there for about 20 years.

Douglassville Veterinary Hospital is our vet of choice and has been for over 25 years. Their caring and compassionate staff has helped us manage all sorts of medical issues with our pets. They truly do care about you and your fur babies and we would never want to go anywhere else. From the friendly faces at the front desk to the techs and vets, they are hands down the absolute best. They all go above and beyond to help in every way they can. Highly recommend!

I recently had to have my dog put down. The staff was amazing and made one of the worst days of my life more bearable. The staff treated my dog and my family with dignity and respect during his last moments of life. During the whole procedure, the vet nurses and vet both rubbed my boys paws and talked to him as if he was a human. This facility now has new patients to for life with my animals.

All the people at Douglassville Veterinary Hospital are super kind and caring. They give your pet the utmost love and attention at each visit. If they say they'll call you with test results, you can count on it. I've been taking my cat there since I adopted him in 2009. We wouldn't go anywhere else.

I have been happy using Douglassville Veterinary Hospital for regular pet care. The check-in process is well-managed; the nurses are kind; and I really liked Dr. Carly Morgan, who gave my cat a very thorough but gentle examination on our recent annual visit. She even asked if I wanted her and the nurses to mask up because she saw I was masked. (Nicer than most human medical practices.) Lab tests are fulfilled quickly, and updates provided via email. I would happily recommend this vet to others.

I never go to the vet… Until my 14 year old Yorkie Poo would not stop coughing. This place and the staff are awesome! Friendly from the time I went in expecting “the testing and bills” until i left satisfied!!

I just transferred my pets out of this office because it's really far for me to drive. However, I highly recommend this clinic to anyone with cats, their care is phenomenal, and we really enjoyed working with them for the time that we were with them. They do everything they can to make your pet comfortable while in their care, because we all know how pets can stress out in an environment like that. I never had dogs, so I can't speak to their care for them, but I would speculate it's every bit as good as their care for cats.

I have always had to put my dog to sleep every time we had a well check. He has extreme anxiety and fear that turns into aggression when going to the vet.Dr. Olsen was so calm and patient even as he was growling at her. The vet technician Trish was absolutely amazing! She hugged my dog and talked to him the entire time. They make an incredible team! Another vet tech Nikki was brought in to help and she was wonderful too. I did not have to put my dog to sleep. They were able to administer his shots and take blood quickly all without anesthesia. They did it in a way that was safe for my dog and eased my anxiety as well. All of the staff could not have been nicer. I should have transferred years ago. Best veterinary practice in my area. I couldn't be happier with my visit. I will highly recommend!

On January 25, 2024, I lost my last dog of almost 16 years, and it was one of the hardest moments of my life! Dr. Morgan was our doctor, and she really, really took the time to talk to me about my dog and actually counsel me, which I very much needed!! She is by far the most caring and empathetic doctor I’ve had - Animal or human! The ladies who were working at the front desk were also extremely compassionate and took time to comfort me. I extend my sincerest gratitude to them and Dr. Morgan for making that day the best it could have been, given the situation!

Had our first visit at this location and was very happy with the care my dog received. Dr. Paull gave our dog a thorough exam and explained all the possible treatments to try. Very easy to make appointments online and staff were very friendly. Will definitely bring my dog back for his next wellness visit

My cat had to have a tooth extracted...once they got in there, she needed more extracted.They were all very helpful with what was happening, and kept in contact with us throughout.My cat is not the nicest cat when she needs to go to vet, but they always treat here kindly and with care.Would recommend them...

We took our dog, Yukon, here after having not so good experiences elsewhere. Yukon is an American akita who is quite large compared to other dog breed. Most vets and techs have shown fear towards him, which has always made us nervous.Douglassville is about 20 minutes away from us, but it's worth the drive.Right off the bat, the receptionist was friendly and the lady who does the weigh in was even friendlier.The vet was very nice and listened and gave reccomendations to us. They listened to understand, not respond.Since this was our first visit, I can only speak from initial impressions.9/10 would reccomend for all your furry non-human family members.

I’m am very impressed with the way they call you into the building when they are READY to see your animal. They avoid the fright animals could feel waiting with a larger, more intimidating animal. Dr. Ashley is very knowledgeable and well trained. She is very thorough. She did her best to explain the health of our pet and the best way to address AND the cost!

This dog , while happy and beautiful has had a host of lifetime medical issues . Before going to DVH, some were over looked or mismanaged . Since going to DVH (5+ years now) all of her issues have been cared for and treated efficiently and professionally. I am always greeted with the nicest front desk workers , gentle vet techs , and knowledgeable veterinarians. I have referred other family and friends who have also shared the same experiences. We will always travel and go out of our way to see Dr. Jeff and his staff / practice.

I absolutely loved taking my dog there. The amount of time the Dr spent with me and my girl was great. Dr. Olsen is kind caring and very patient. She explains everything and answers any questions. I just brought my 4 year old golden here for his first appointment. They got us from my car and we went right to an exam room, which was great because my boy gets very nervous at the vet. The doctor was thorough and answered all my questions in detail. They comforted my dog and sweet talked him until he was ready for the exam, made a huge difference for his anxiety. It was also spotless in the exam room! We checked out from the exam room and headed right to my car. We didn’t even have to see any other pets that would have scared my dog! Highly recommend!!

There is no way to describe the kindness and compassion we experienced here from EVERYONE. While going through the hardest part of having a family member, your best friend, and love bug crossing the rainbow bridge. Dr. Paul and his staff are positively TOP NOTCH. I had used a previous vet office for the same years ago. No comparison. The other was not wrong or rude in any way but it was a very cold experience. This was a remarkably better experience, for us and Juno.

Ist time there there. I just adopt 2 kittens and took them there for my first vet check up with my kitten. My 2 kittens name are Figaro and Snuggles. When I got there and check in, the nurse was out in 5 minutes and took us right away. She made me and the Kitten Ben very comfortable. Then when the vet came in she was the same. The cat was good with here. She look over them and they were great with her. And she made them feel comfortable. They where good with there shot and when they too them for there blood work. When we were done the front desk were the same. Nice and very helpful. Over all it was a great experience for us. Thank you douglassville veterans hospital to make a pleasure and helpful visitJim
