As usual, the pharmacy is understaffed. I was told my wife's painkillers from her surgery that morning were not ready (several hours after being called in by her surgeon's team) because "they were a day behind." I was told that they were about to take lunch (1:05 pm) and the medication probably would not be ready until 3 or 4 pm. They take lunch from 1:30 - 2:00.*Ten minutes* after I left to take my wife home, I received a text message advising me that her meds were ready. I finished the 25 minute drive home, got my wife in bed, and turned around to go pick up her pain killers. Why didn't they just tell me to wait 10 minutes?!I vowed, about a year ago, never to do business here again, and this underscores why.RiteAid - maybe if you paid your employees more, you would not be perpetually understaffed. Other pharmacies don't seem to have this problem!I'll just drive further to go to a fully staffed CVS from now on.And don't ask ME to contact YOU.EDIT, after your response:You obviously do not even read the reviews, seeing how you asked ME to contact YOU.ALL of your recent reviews say the same thing.PLEASE CLOSE THIS LOCATION TO ALLOW A REAL PHARMACY TO OPEN THERE.

Had a prescription called in Friday for a controlled substance. Was told it was in stock. Found out they are closed Saturday and Sunday now. Went today,waited in line for 30 minutes to be told they don’t have it. The people in front of people were also not able to get their medicine either. Disappointed with this store is an understatement

This was my first time to visit the Dillsburg Rite Aid and I was treated like I was an important customer. The Associate was so kind and thoughtful and made me want to return again.

It's gotten a little better cuz during covid it was awful, but the one pharmacy assistant always has a major attitude. I called about my meds the other day and she audibly sighed at me. Then when I went in to grab my meds she like tossed the bag with my meds on the counter in front of me and still had an attitude for literally no reason. There wasn't even anyone in line that time

Update: 5/9/23I've recently have had much better experiences which is why I'm changing my review. The drive through has opened back up, wait times have normalized, I can actually get through on the phone! Staff is friendly and helpful. Seems like Rite Aid has gotten past whatever challenges they were experiencing post-COVID!Original:No matter what time I come, there is always a huge line. Drive through is alwaya closed. Difficult to even get through to the pharmacy on the phone. I can understand staffing struggles, but something needs to be done. I've moved some of my scripts to express scripts because of this

This has got to be the worst Rite-Aid pharmacy I have visited. They are unable to keep a pharmacist on schedule during working hours. More than once in the past 6 months I was turned away because of no pharmacist on staff, only to go without medication. I suggest using another pharmacy until they get their act together. My medication is important to me and I cannot go 2-3 days waiting for people to report to work.

I don’t know what has happened to this Rite Aid since I used to use it all the time, when I lived in Dillsburg! I now live about 20 minutes away, but due to a shortage in the particular medication I need, I had to use their pharmacy since they had it in stock. It happens to be a controlled substance for my severe chronic pain. Unlike so many people, I genuinely need it to function, at a minimum, in my daily life. I DO NOT abuse it or take it to get a “buzz”! I was made to feel like a criminal by the pharmacist when I called to ask if it had been filled yet. The first time he told me it would be filled the next day. When I called the next day to see if it was ready, before I drove 20 minutes, the same pharmacist said it couldn’t be filled till today, along with a condescending tone that he couldn’t fill it a day early (which was the day he originally said it would be filled). I said I didn’t expect him to fill it until allowed, but was just checking the status, according to what I was told initially. The overall bad customer service has been upsetting. They’re the only pharmacy in Dillsburg, as far as I know. From the other poor reviews, they may not be in business much longer. Maybe CVS should open in their place.

I would give a zero if I could. Absolutely the worst pharmacy EVER!! Not just one time. I’ve had bad experiences many times. Today, was final straw!! I will reroute to CVS like my husband did about a year ago or Giant. Someone needs to take control because the ratings for the Dillsburg store are terrible. Pharmacist is RUDE!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Worst pharmacy EVER! Never has prescriptions ready, lines are outrageous… waiting in line for over an hour and have not moved. What are we supposed to do without our medication? Rite Aid needs to go out of business. This is unacceptable.

Drive thru has been closed for weeks. The pharmacy is now closed on weekends. Called in a script on Thursday and stood in line to pick it up Monday. I was #15 in line and when it was my turn, I was told it had to be ordered. There is no phone communication. There were elderly and ill people standing in line waiting, and this is totally unprofessional. I went to the Cumberland Parkway Rite Aid where I was immediately assisted and given meds to cover, and this will be my new pharmacy. If you can't properly assist sick people during the upcoming winter months, perhaps you shouldn't be open.

My nephew was sick since last week and doctor has prescribed him a medicine in this pharmacy . But when we went to pick prescriptions they said they can’t fill up the prescriptions because they are super busy and closed at 4:00 o’clock. You know what I was their at 12:00 pm and waited almost an hour. My nephew health condition was very bad since last week and he hasn’t go to school. According ti the doctor he needed medicine asap. Honestly the customer service in this location is stupid. Thank God our doctor did great job by transferring prescriptions at Gettysburg CVS and they did fill up our prescriptions with in a 5 min.This rite aid location is playing people’s health. This is absolutely ridiculous . Please ,Please don’t use this location.

This place is horrible I have lupus and went for my medication during a flare my Dr called my meds in on a Wednesday I went Thursday afternoon to pick it up at 330 and it wasn't filled so I came back the following may as told and then the pharmacy was closed so at this point I was in a major flat I went Saturday and the pharmacy was closed again for the entire weekend. This is NOT acceptable this is the only main pharmacy ourg. Half the time you go there they have no idea what they are doing and you're prescription s that are called in aren't ever filled until you call and ask or go in and ask. Rite aid get you act together because this store is absolutely horrendous I feel so bad for the employees that are trying ther than giant in dillsb

Definitely would be a good place to open a pharmacy! Prescriptions are never ready when they say they will. Called for a refill was told to pick up after 11 the next day. I arrived at noon & was told it wouldn't be ready for 3 more days. Why waste my time. Their is never any polite service at pharmacy counter. I'm transferring my scripts.

Pharmacy is closed on Saturdays and Sundays until further notice. This is unacceptable. You expect a pharmacy to be operating on normal business hours. Obviously, they can’t compete against the other Pharmacies in the metropolitan area. I’ll be moving my business. Elsewhere.Shameful way to run a business.Shame on you Rite Aid.

My niece waited in a line of 14 people yesterday around 5pm to get my prescriptions. She was 12th in line. I told her I would pick them up today. I went in at 3:10 and didn’t walk out until 4 pm, which is when they closed the pharmacy. There were at least 20 people in line behind me that didn’t get the prescriptions. And the pharmacy is closed the weekend so they won’t get them until Monday. That’s if they have they pills there. All you could hear was people saying they were told that their pills were in. Or that their pills were crucial to someone’s health. I watched a guys face go white when they told him his kids insulin wasn’t in and he’d have to wait until Monday to get it. I felt so bad for him. I get the whole labor shortage thing. I get that their may be medication shortages as well. But something has got to be done about this. I know it’s not just this location either and I feel for the people who have to deal with the customers that aren’t happy at all with the situation. But something’s gotta give. And why is the drive through closed for Covid testing? Seems a bit silly to have that blocked for people getting prescriptions. I know it’s probably not much better elsewhere but I am looking to move to another drug store.

DO NOT USE THIS PHARMACY.This place is bad for your health. You will not get your medications on time & it it will be a struggle to get them filled. I’ve had problems for months getting precipitations filled. Today is the last straw. Was in urgent care this morning and had Rx sent to Dillsburg RiteAid. This incompetent pharmacy does not have a pharmacist today or tomorrow. People can not get Rx’s on weekends. RiteAid is a big company and they should be able to have a pharmacist in the pharmacy. This is insane. Really they should shut this place down.Update to your response.I did call the number (20 mins on hold) and that was useless. No help at all. Said they’d file my complaint and that’s the end of that & have a manager call. Talked to manager they told me to call customer service line. What a complete runaround. This store has failed at the cost of peoples health. Seriously I’m done. Save yourself a lot of trouble and go somewhere else.

For the past 2 months we have had nothing but problems getting my child's scripts filled. It took them 4 days last month to have them ready and 4 days this month to find out that 1pharmacist was out on emergency surgery and the other pharmacist went out of the country for a family emergency. My boyfriend went on FRIDAY to pick up her scripts and they said it wasn't even started. That was 3 days after I called them in which was Wednesday at 530AM. This is really horrible and now my daughter has to wait until MONDAY NOVEMEBR 14TH to get her pills!!! RIDICULOUS!!!

Someone from corporate needs to get involved here. This pharmacy is awful. I’ve been three times to try to get my Covid booster, and they are out of vaccines or staff didn’t show up (and they gave No notification). Not to mention, prescriptions and never ready on time. Base on other reviews, this seems to be a consistent pattern.

Can't give zero stars so a one it is. Get automated call stating prescription is ready, go there 4 days later and it's still not ready. This place is horrible. Always a long wait no matter how many people are in line. So many bad things to say about this place but don't feel like wasting any more of my time. Time to find a new pharmacy.

Prescription was called in from the doctor at around 430pm on Friday. In an effort to verify when it would be filled, my husband and I BOTH called and called and called and called and the automated messaging system went into a loop so many times it may have been a tornado. Finally, my husband went there around 630pm. He was told that it would not be done for a few more HOURS when they close at 8pm. So he verified it would be ready in the morning when they opened at 9am. They said YES. Due to last minute issues, I was not able to go in the morning and got there at 130pm. They have now had the prescription about 8 business hours, nearly a full day in actual hours. GUESS WHAT??? I STILL GET TOLD ANOTHER FEW HOURS!!!!! I asked them to call me when it was filled so that I did not have to keep wasting gas showing up since their phone system STILL is sending everybody in a loop. They said YES. It is now 4.5 hours later and I still have not heard back on when the prescription will be ready. This men's by the time I get there Sunday at 10am tomorrow, it will be THREE DAYS WAITING WHEN WE WERE TOLD JUST A FEW HOURS!!! People can DIE due to this level of incompetence. If they can not fill it, they should just say so so that I can get my prescription filled by COMPETENT STAFF at a different pharmacy

One star is too high for this store. I have been using the Pharmacy for years, but am switching. Last couple of months the prescriptions are not filled in a timely manner. Even when they provide a time, when you go to pick them up they are not ready. Last straw was going to get a prescription and was told they could get it ready in 15 minutes. After sitting for 20 minutes I ask and was informed it was ready, When I asked why it wasn't announce, the person said they are "busy" and sometimes forget. I watched her. Her "business" was chit chatting. They have performed too poorly lately for my business. If you don't want to be frustrated with poor service, go elsewhere.

Pharmacist told me he don't have time to deal with me and hung up the phone! He refused to help us like any other pharmacy I've been to using a good rx code! Said "that's not his job" when in fact CVS had the code in before I even attempted to pick up the meds! Extremely rude & impatient! If you want someone who cares about you having your medication this is not the place for you! I was only here twice! But this will be my last! I can see if this was not vital medication but it was my daughter's seziure medication she ran out of because of this guy not wanting to help!! Unbelievable! If you're that unhappy at your job or your career Field that you have people go without meds, maybe you should start looking for another one!

If you need something filled don't bother going to the Dillsburg Rite Aid. Ordered refill Tuesday. No word by Friday and can't get thru on the phone so we go and wait in line for 45mins (literally!) to be told "expedited will be 3hrs." Before we go we ask to confirm it's even in stock - nope. They tell us we can go to any other Rite Aid to fill it. So we call another to see if they have it in stock. Turns out the Dillsburg one needed to do something on their end so another one can fill it. Their phones aren't even ringing now so I'll have to go wait in line again, call the new Rite Aid, and then confirm Dillsburg ok's it just to get it filled. Nearly the same run around last month. We'll switch to CVS next month. I understand they're short staffed, but don't give us the run around. Don't take the refills/scripts if you can't fill them.

Both of my kids are on medications that they NEED filled on a monthly basis. Every time I go to pick them up, they are NEVER ready after waiting for about 30 mins to almost an hour in line. First I was told it was due to "the community getting vaccinated." Then I was told "someone didn't right it down." Next I'm told "we are a week behind." A WEEK!!!!!! I hate being one to write a nasty review but they need to get it together. People NEED THEIR MEDICATION!!!!! Now this evening I was told "Mam, we are behind due to the booster shots." Maybe this pharmacy shouldn't be able to give vaccines or boosters if it keeps the staff too busy and unable to fill prescriptions. Who's to blame when someone gets terribly ill because they couldn't pick of their medication?

If I could give this store a score lower than 1 they would deserve it. This store took all day to fill my Paxlovid prescription and then they never notified me I had to call twice. Oh and they never answer the phone. Additionally, my doctor called in a prescription for COVID 19 AG tests and they claim they never received even after I showed them the prescription. Surprise, they will sell you a test for $9.99 each! Even though my insurance company said my insurance would pay for 8. When your feeling sick with COVID the last thing you need is your pharmacy not helping. Never again will I use Rite Aid in Dillsburg PA.

This place is utter garbage, everyone in the pharmacy walked out so now people that need to pick up the prescriptions or transfer them to another store can’t.Thankfully no one in our house hood needs life sustaining medicine, what about the other people in the area that do?Definitely would rather have a CVS put in this location.

Dr. Sent prescription Friday after 3 pm. Did not pickup because rhis store has always been extremely slow so went Sat am to drive thru. Closed told to go in store. So me and my cane went in store and was told closed Sat and Sun. Store employee not from pharmacy told me to call Cumberland Parkway store for help. Only problem after goi g thru robot phone rang off hook for pharmacy and np one answered e cent robot. Very bad customer service. Will not use again

This is the worst pharmacy I’ve ever used. They are rude, act like it’s a burden to fill your prescription and my prescriptions are never ready when they say they will be. Example: said it would be ready at 11:30am, went to pick it up at 1:45pm and it was not ready. AND they didn’t have the full amount to even fill the prescription. Never called me to let me know. I will be switching all of my prescriptions somewhere else. If I could give less than a one star review I would.

Currently 20th in line waiting for a prescription that was supposed to be ready 4 days ago. No weekend hours. Haven’t seen a line of less than 10 people in months. Save yourself the agony and go elsewhere. Staff are trying their best but set up to fail.
