More than disappointed with this clinic, although I’m not sure why I am surprised. Years ago I had a bad experience with my dog, and last week they completely missed severe neurological issues with my cat that ultimately resulted in his death. The first tell should be the smell. The place absolutely reeks of dirty animals and the air purifier on the reception counter does nothing to help. The next concern was that the vet barely touched my cat before pronouncing she couldn’t find any physical abnormalities besides a low body temperature. After shelling out $270 for bloodwork and a bottle of liquid vitamins, I was told to have him lay on a heating pad and come back in 2 weeks, unless things got worse. Well, things did get worse, and I called to leave a message with the answering service, and I am still waiting for a return call. Long story short, less than 24 hours after leaving this office, my beloved cat was gone. When I called to cancel the 2-week follow-up appointment, I barely received a word of condolence. The one thing I’m sure they did for my cat was give him fleas when they took him to the back for bloodwork and based on the odor, I can’t even imagine how filthy that area must be. It may be too late for my cat, but I can try to get the word out about this place. Trust me, there are better places to take your pets for care.

I took my dog here to have a large lump removed. A few days after I had some concerns and took her back, was told it looked good but for some reason antibiotics were changed. Not even 27 hours later my dogs skin was melting off. I had to take her to an emergency vet and she has now had 2 more surgeries to correct this problem and we don’t even know if the problem will be fixed with this last surgery, she may need more. When I called Ridgeview back to express my feelings on how I shouldn’t have to pay for someone else’s mistake, I was told no mistake was made and that this is a complication from surgery. Which mind you I was NEVER told about this complication. 0/10.

They care. It's usually hard to find people who care about your pets as much as you but you can tell, they are all in. Thank You guys n gals for everything. The only vet I'll ever visit.

I’ve been waiting to write this when I was no longer in the height of my emotions. Enough time has passed for me to reflect on it, and it’s necessary to share my experience so that others can avoid this practice. My chinchilla showed signs of a respiratory infection on a Sunday, which is an exotic pet owner’s worst nightmare because chins are sensitive and there aren’t many emergency places available for small/exotic pets let alone on a Sunday. I stabilized her overnight and made a list of places to call Monday morning in case her regular vet couldn’t get her in right away.I contacted Ridgeview that Monday and asked if they have an exotics vet who could see a chinchilla, and if they had anything available that day, which they did. I was relieved to have somewhere to take her so soon. When we arrived, I was immediately met with the filthiest office I’ve ever stepped foot in—I’ve volunteered in the animal field for years and with multiple clinics throughout my lifetime of pet ownership, so I’m very forgiving of the wear & tear that’s typical of a clinic—but this was excessive. That should’ve been my first warning sign to turn around and take my chances waiting for an appointment with her regular vet, but again I try to be understanding that an animal clinic will be “dirty” by normal standards. My appointment was at 2:15 and I arrived at 2, but I wasn’t called back until almost 3. Another thing I’d usually overlook, but with the rest of my experience it’s another point of frustration. When I was finally called into an exam room, the tech was extremely unfriendly/disinterested as I said hello and apologized if I couldn’t hear her calling us from the next room over. She never smiled, greeted me, my chinchilla, or made any attempt whatsoever to interact with us which is unusual among most animal care techs I know. She took a piece of scratch notebook paper and scribbled down a couple of my chin’s symptoms and then said they would be in. Meanwhile, people were coming and going out of the double doors in my exam room between the front & back offices, which I expressed some concern about in the moment because my chin is very fast and a master escape artist so I was worried that she would bolt into the waiting room full of dogs if people would be entering/exiting the room as a throughway during her exam.It turned out this never needed to be a concern once the vet did arrive, as she spent maybe one minute max with us and all of 10 seconds “evaluating” my chinchilla. They never took her weight, asked any questions about her health history or behaviors, or even remotely established a general evaluation for her health despite charging me for an eval. The vet (I don’t know her name as she never introduced herself or made any remarks aside from holding my chinchilla up to the light and saying “it looks like a respiratory infection”) was about as personable as the accompanying tech, which is to say they were both eager to get us out of there as fast as possible. The vet plainly said that my chinchilla would likely die from this and not to get my hopes up. (Several weeks later following an appointment with her regular vet, I’m happy to report my chinchilla is symptom free and back to normal.) The vet also recommended that I “give her her favorite fruit” during this time, which is insane because every reputable source on chinchillas is very clear that they can’t eat fruit/vegetables due to their sensitive digestive systems. My character limit is almost up here, but I was sent home with nothing more than an antibiotic (without taking her weight), while her regular vet gave me multiple different meds. And when I asked how her lungs sounded, they said “Wheezy.” (After rushing her to her regular vet only 2 hours later, he actually said “her lungs and heart sound strong, healthy, and normal.”) I was handed a bill and then left on my own to exit the room, attempting to open the door with a giant pet carrier with both hands full of her antibiotics and the bill.AVOID this practice. This is the only bad vet experience I’ve ever had.

My cat was scheduled for a surgery through this clinic. Two weeks later (two days before the surgery), they called and cancelled because they didn't like how we expressed our disappointment towards our previous vet. Our previous vet kept telling us that our cat was getting better but after 7 months they admitted that there was no change in her health. Obviously, I was upset. I decided to drive my cat 800 miles to this vet because they're my family vet. We scheduled an appointment, we expressed our concern about our previous vets mismanagement and TWO DAYS before the surgery these guys cancelled my cat's appointment. Unprofessional. If they had an issue how we showed our frustration towards our last vet, they should have cancelled on us the day after we scheduled the appointment. Instead, they let us believe for TWO WEEKS that my cat was going to get the medical help she needed. If they cancelled the day after we scheduled the appointment, I could have found a different vet without having to put my cat through multiple more weeks of discomfort. Clearly not everyone in this office cares about the job they applied for.

We just moved to the neighborhood. Our dog is very shy. They got on the floor and petted her to make her feel more relaxed. Both cat and dog got thorough exams and treated well .

Had a great experience the other week. First time dog owners and we just got a dog from the shelter. Saturday morning we woke up to her making the loudest coughing noises. We thought she was choking on a cat toy or raw hide. The staff had us come in first thing as soon as they opened and told us not to worry because if x,y,z are all normal she is probably fine. Eased our minds a little but we were anxious to get her in. Turned out she had kennel cough and it was a quick in and back out. Didn't even charge for the visit only charged for the meds. What an amazing experience honestly. We thought we were going to get hit with quite the vet bill but she was very kind. Will be following up with her since I see no reason to try somewhere else even though the reviews are quite negative. It was a positive experience for us.

I agree with the poor ratings related to professional conduct. The owners Holly and the vet are not compassionate toward large animals. Holly is hot tempered and cuts customers off by talking loudly over them. Poor veterinary skills resulted in death of my dog. Do not recommend for any animals.

If you're looking for a vet clinic in the Derry area, you can't go wrong here! Great people, and very fair prices. I feel very comfortable bringing my cats here for all their needs!

Our Maltese stopped using his hind legs while we were visiting in Derry. I called Ridgeview Veterinary Clinic and got an appointment the next day. The entire staff was polite and caring. Our doctor was thorough and gentle. We're very thankful for the diagnostics, treatment, and care we received.

Although the doctor does good work, should aone employee mess up, don't expect an apology. You can expect the doctor to go on about the suicide rate in Veterinarian care. Therefore, your pet gets screwed in the end!Good luck with this clinic!

I called this vet with a pet emergency. At the time, my cat was vomiting blood and I couldn't figure out what to do. I recently moved to the area so we have not established vet services. I called with my emergency and the receptionist was incredible rude. She told us, "since you're not our clients we can't help you." We were given no directions for where to turn. She just hung up. For people that should love animals, they sure don't.

We took our dog over early in the morning as he made a turn for the worse overnight. We knew it was time to say good bye to our sweet boy. We called as soon as they opened and they told us to bring him over. We brought him in and there was 3 of us. Due to COVID we were told we could not all be in the room. We were told this information by a staff member that was not wearing a mask herself. We were baffled as to why she was not wearing a mask but a family who drove in the same car could not be in the same room together to say good bye for the last time to their dog. We were given the option to go out to the garage so we could all be there and we did so. The sad part was they laid our dog on the pavement, no offering was made for a small table or anything. We had to say good bye to our most amazing dog outside on the pavement. It was disappointing that no accommodations we really attempted to be made for such a hard time.

I was referred to Ridgeview when my vet was unavailable. Although it was a drive for us, they could not have been nicer. Dr. Melissa sat on the floor with my pup to gain his confidence and diagnose his paw issue. It was a quick but thorough visit and she did not put him through a series of tests that were unnecessary.

Friendly Courteous staff, we took Hailey our dog here for many years had a few emergency visits with her as well. They were quick to get her seen. Vets are knowledgeable and caring. We have taken our cat here as well, as we could not find a more fair priced veterinary clinic in our area. I like the waiting area for the fact there are many items available to all breeds for purchase. It is like a little store within the clinic. We continue to take our cat here. I would highly recommend Ridgeview to every pet owner out there.

The staff is knowledge, professional, and kind. We just lost our fur baby, and they did everything possible to make him, and us, as comfortable as possible. They made an extremely difficult event bearable. I can't thank them enough.

The vet and techs were so kind and caring. They did everything to figure out what my dog needed. They recommended certain products they sell, but we're not pushy. They don't have a trash barrel outside if your dog goes potty, and it was the worst smelling vet I've been to. There prices are excellent!

Whole heartedly can say Ridgeview is amazing. We took our Emma girl and they acted quickly, kindly and professionally. They were soft with delivering harsh news and they were just so great to our pup and to us. Since treating Emma, we’ve had to replace many things and they’ve never once made us feel like a burden. Great people. ♥️

I was definitely not impressed by the Dr. And Staff. It cost me $50.00 for office visit and the Dr was in the room maybe 5 minutes. I asked her a question and no answer. It took forever to get a quote on dental cleaning. I won't be going back. Tell you the truth I don't even think they looked at my dogs records.

We have been taking our dogs to Ridgeview for over 15 years and recently, over the past 5 years, the level of care has declined DRASTICALLY. Today, we had an emergency with our dog. We called ahead to warn them of our arrival and right away they warned us that they were closing in 10 minutes rather than ask us the level of emergency and the care that would be needed for our dog. While we did receive quick care, the staff acted as if we were inconveniencing them. They were practically running out the door as if dinner was already on the table. Our pets are our best friends, they are our family. We will no longer trust Ridgeview with the care of our dogs.

this is a great Veterinarian Clinic. I have never taken my dog there and have them not be able to help. But they also do larger animals such as horses and cows though I believe you have to schedule for them to come out to you. Little make you wait too long everyone is very friendly and that's helpful they can also write down the road I believe there's a pet store which is owned by the same people. To get a lot of useful things

Helped my Mom and Dad to do some tests on their dog after another vet wouldn't listen to their concerns. Their pup passed but they were really appreciative of their efforts.

Had our dog taken there, we were told she was having kidney issues they kept her for two days. Two days later she was taken back in and was told she was falling down because she had arthritis. It was not arthritis, it was seizures and complications of the kidney problem as well as being anemic. Another vet said she was surprised they sent her home with the blood work looking like it did. Now we have lost our precious dog and are at a complete loss. Not our first issue here but it will be the very last. There are vets out there that actually care and don't brush things off. Should of known better after the incident with our cat and problem visit with two cats after that. Never again.

I will never ever go back to this place. They are so condescending and treat you horribly. I took my kitten here because she was exuding symptoms of an ear infection. They wanted to do bloodwork to rule infections out. They shaved her neck without asking for permission. Then they brought her back to me bleeding profusely. They gave me no answers as to what was wrong with her. They actually tried to tell me that she could possibly have rabies and that I had bats in my attic(insisted that I did) --I don't have an attic or any crawl space above my living space. She is a complete indoor kitten. never been outside.Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. They're not going to help, but they will gladly take your money. They charged me nearly $200 for this visit and I left there without an answer as to what was wrong with her.Not to mention, the facility is disgusting. I would give NO stars if I could.

I've been brining my pets here forever. From my dog's flea infestation to having to put my cat down. When Cat was put down, they sent a card of condolences that I keep next to the picture of Cat and I. They care. They're kind. And they're reasonable. I'm so thankful for their service and their kind hearts.

I never actually had a problem with this place but I did notice something kind of disturbing. I took a cat down there to get fixed and when he went in- he was extremely adventurous and friendly. When he came out of there he seems really afraid of everything and I can't touch him on the head anymore. He acts like I'm going to hit him. Now, I COULD BE overreacting but did anyone ever notice a personality shift in there animal after taking it there?

Dr. Voll-Stouffer is so sweet and caring with my 4 legged children. She takes time to make sure you understand what is going on and is VERY well with reassuring over protective owners like me☺ I can't thank you enough for all you do for our family ❤
