Dr Harr, and her staff, have always been accommodating regarding appointments and treatment. I have entrusted Delmont Veterinary Hospital with all of my pets for almost 40 years! My pets have always received excellent treatment and care from the entire staff.

If I could give zero stars, I would! Our dog was only 6 years old and wasn’t feeling good. My husband took him to be seen by his vet, this vet at Delmont Veterinary Hospital! They gave him some medicine, took some tests and sent him home. Still didn’t feel good so took back and asked if a dog could have a bladder infection as I think he is bleeding in his urine?! The vet ran with that and gave him some fluids and a shot of antibiotics. Vet said he should be better in a couple of hours. If not better by 5pm call them back. By 3pm still not eating so we couldn’t give him his medicine, husband called back. Woman said we really need to give him 24 hours to give time for the shot to help. This morning (3 1/2 days without eating at all or drinking much) my husband demanded they see our dog. After keeping him they called us and said we would need to take him to the emergency vet hospital. The vet there called us later to say our dog was septic…Long story short my dog didn’t make it. He had to be put down. Our vet at Delmont Veterinary Hospital failed at diagnosing and treating our dog. We had put our trust in this vet, as our dog was already an established patient there, to diagnose, treat and make our dog well again!Someone else posted that Delmont Veterinary Hospital needs to be investigated and I agree with their opinion! Our dog was healthy just like this person’s dog and now both of our dogs are gone!I wouldn’t take another animal here and because of this vet, placing our trust in them and having to put our dog down because of them, we will never own another animal again! Thanks for that Delmont Veterinary Hospital! They are the worst vets we have ever dealt with. If you love your pets don’t come here. I will make sure to tell everyone I know including social media about our experience!

Great place to bring your pet. They have competent employees and vets working there. I have been a steady customer for over 8 years now with my cat.

They call themselves a veterinarian hospital, but I called them during business hours and asked to bring my four year old Pomeranian in for an emergency visit, and was told I couldn’t without an appointment. I don’t think you should call yourself an veterinary hospital if you can’t take your dog there in an emergency. They are not a hospital, they are a veterinary office. I understand that in most cases an appointment would work, but when your four year old healthy dog, who is up on shots and routine visits, starts shaking violently and can’t use her front legs at all and you go online to find the nearest emergency veterinary hospital because your scared and would do anything to save her, you don’t have time to be calling places that portray themselves as a hospital when they are not. When you are in that situation every minute seems like a lifetime. Sadly she didn’t make it long enough to reach the next closest animal hospital, that actually takes emergencies. They need to drop the hospital part from their name and call their practice an office or clinic.

Dr. Harr and her staff took great care of my newly adopted senior Yorkshire terrier who needed a dental procedure. 8 teeth were extracted and the rest were cleaned and look new. He is like a new dog now! The staff are always good with my pets when I take them here.

Wouldn't answer any question bc 'we're closing soon' (they close in an hour from the time I called) and 'we're not taking any new patient'. Thank you for nothing!

Dr. Harr is amazing. She has been caring for my dogs for years, and the quality of her care - and her compassion - cannot be surpassed. She is kind, fun, caring, and talented. I will never take my dogs to another doctor. In addition, her staff is helpful and kind, as well. You can tell that the entire operation genuinely cares for animals, and they have MANY times gone out of the way to meet our routine and emergent needs. I feel safe and comfortable with all of my dogs in Dr. Harr's care, and I without doubt recommend her to anyone considering her practice.

I am a representative for the Italian Greyhound Rescue Foundation and have had the pleasure of working with Dr. Harr and the staff with a few of our rescue dogs. They have been exceptionally kind and caring with our rescue dogs! The level of service and compassion is nothing short of outstanding. The dogs in our care are often in great need of vet care, and I know they will always be treated with love and patience at Delmont Vet Hospital. I highly recommend them.

There was a time I gave this place five stars, however, today my dog had anxiety as it was his first visit without his brother. He was anxious to say the least. No one seemed to care, no one took the time to calm him down or give him any love. They popped out his cherry eye from forcing him to do things he was uncomfortable doing. The doctor actually pushed him off her when he jumped up to say hello. Now I'm sorry if your in this industry you should care enough to give the boy some love and calm him down, it was a fight the whole time we were there. My pup is the most loving dog, but there was no love here today. I left with a headache and he left with a bump in his eye and major anxiety. The poor receptionist was trying to check us out and they were in his file. She was trying so hard to be patient but had to call back and tell them to get out so I could pay. The next time I will pay by phone. There was no excuse for what happened here today. Where is the love? Concerned.

I have had vet care in many states and Delmont has the best vet care I ever experienced. They treat every pet like it was their own pet. I like the fact if they do not have an answer they do research to get it and never give up. They make you feel part of the family from each vet to the techs to the office staff. I would go no where else. Thank you Delmont. Dr. Harr you should be proud of your whole clinic. They are a team that is the BEST!

I have been using Delmont Veterinary Hospital since around 2001. My dogs have had great care, and the techs are always very friendly. My only suggestion is that you check the accuracy of the bill. Ask for an itemized list and verify they have the right services listed.

Wish I could give less than 1 star. Our dog was attacked by another dog and they refused to see her at all. Our dog was literally bleeding in our arms and they had the nerve to ask “Well is she a patient?”Understand they aren’t an emergency room but they clearly don’t care about pets. Highly recommend taking your pet anywhere else.

Delmont is where we take our pets for care. All of the veterinarians care about their patients and families. The staff are also very kind and helpful. Our cat recently needed an emergency surgery and Dr. O squeezed us in so that we could avoid the exorbitant emergency vet costs, not to mention that we have a trust and ease with Delmont. Their pricing and services are all fair and affordable. We highly recommend Delmont!!

I have been a client since 1973. I've had no complaints until now. We have spent thousands of $$ on the many, many pets we've owned over 47 yrs. Most all were strays who were homeless and/or starving. This last time, my mom (in her 80's) was shamed into being a cat murderer by the vet! We had a 16 yr old cat who was blind and had dementia and really the best thing, in our opinion, was to put him out of his misery. The vet and assistant were very insensitive to her. They acted in a nearly unethical manner and very unprofessional. I don't know why the vet was so mean spirited but I'm sure we'll not be back. Good luck to those of you who think this kind of behavior is merited. To a loyal client of 47 years, this is action was undeserved and unacceptable.

The vets are great, but unfortunately the attitude I was consistently given by one of the front desk staff members (Jessica?) caused me to take my pet elsewhere. She’s extremely rude, unfriendly, and down right mean. I don’t need to deal with that when all I want is my pet to be taken care of. If it was a one time occurrence I would let it go, but it was every time I called there and got her on the phone.

This practice only cares about quantity and not the quality of care they should be providing. My Shiba Inu was scheduled for surgery this morning. Following CO-VID protocol, I called the office when I arrived. After several minutes of trying to find my appointment, I was placed on hold for at least 10 minutes. When returning, I was informed there was no record of my scheduled surgery in their system. After sharing my dissatisfaction, surgery tech finally came and took my pet. To make things even worse, a lady approached my car and said the same thing happened to her. Later that morning I spoke with the office manager. I got every excuse in the book as to why this happened. None of which were my fault.. go figure. I then added “I’m sure you will still run my debit card through when this is said and done, knowing the experience I’ve had with your office. There was awkward silence afterwards. To sum it up, incompetence, lack of empathy, lack of compassion, and lots of excuses were thrown my way this morning. If you truly care for your pet, I would consider a practice who cares for both you and your loved ones.

Having just helped my 17 year old dog find her rest, it is hard right now to put into words how much I think of Dr. Elizabeth Harr and her staff here at Delmont Vet. My dog is the only one I raised from a puppy at 8 weeks and I knew I needed expert medical care and advice. I knew when I met Dr. Harr she was the right choice for my Lady and I. She was always kind, knowledgeable and so sweet to her. I trusted her opinion implicitly. My girl came home to be with us when my children were in elementary school and they are both now adults, with one having a child of her own. I know Lady would have never had the long life she had with us without the expert advice and care of everyone at Delmont Vet. From the first visit to the last, I have never been sorry I trusted these caring people. Thank you Dr. Harr and staff. I will never forget you.

Very unprofessional. I terminated my association with 'DVH' after the last visit whereupon I was given eye-drops that 'burned' my Pet's eyes. I advised them of this and was told I made the decision. How Absurd! Upon advising this place to have my medical records ready for pickup I was emailed by the office manager that I will get nothing unless I learn to ask nice! I responded that I will indeed have the Pa Dept of State investigate if my Pet's records are not made available immediately. I received the records in the mail which are mostly 'scribble' accompanied by a letter advising me they will no longer be able to offer me medical care for my Pet. Apparently they did not understand that I had already DISMISSED them! There are comments on my Pet's records which are the opinion of this 'provider' and therefore are not relevant to the care of my Pet. A complete investigation of the competency of this place needs to be undertaken by the Pa D.O.S. licensing division. Despite the rude unprofessional treatment my Pet and I received and the derogatory comments and false information placed on my Pet's med records these people had the nerve to send me a postcard asking me to bring my pet back. Some nerve and obviously POOR record keeping. Place should be closed down! 6/19/16

The front line staff are very rude and make it appear that you are bothering them! I called to get my dog's shot record and was told I can stop by and pick it up. Went out to the office to pick up the record and was ignored by the one staff person that was not one the phone. When she did acknowledge me, I explained that I was there to pick up my dog's shot record. She snapped "did you call for it"; I stated that I had this morning. She looked to the staff person on her left (who had just hung up the phone) and said did you print any shot records out. At that time, the phone rings and she answers it and snaps "hold please!" The other lady stated no but it will only take a minute. She took my info and gave me my record. I was planning on scheduling an appointment for my dog's vaccination, but after that - no way! I drive 35 minutes and pay a toll to get there and back homd. No more!! This has not been the first time I have had an attitude or rude interaction with their front line staff. The doctor's and the tech's are ok but I'm done with that front line attitude. If you hate your job - you need to move on. After I left, I went to a scheduled an appointment to take my dog to a new vet closer to me and they could not have been any nicer, accomadating or pleasant!

I would've put 10 stars but they only allow you 5 ... I have been at Delmont Veterinary for 18 years mostly with Dr. Betty Morovick who is an animal Saint in my opinion.... She cared for and kept my Bichon Frise dog for her 17 years and was so honest at the end when she was determined to have nasal cancer was very honest about her opinion of how treatment would be and that the end result would be any different so I appreciate her telling me honestly but left the choice up to me but treated her to the best of her ability to keep her comfortable until that was no longer possible.... at 17 I feel she and the vet techs and staff did the utmost best job performance all those years and supported me through the entire process in the end..... Thank you for your dedication, love and care for animals for all kinds and helping a human know how to love an animal eternally!!! :) Love you guys! P.S. I now have an almost 2 year old puppy who is in extreme good health and I look forward to their care for the next 20 years I hope!

My dog, Cesar, was suffering with the effects of Lyme's Disease when I took him in to the the vets for help. Dr. Dayna Dessa came in to examine Cesar, sitting on the floor, next to my door, because he was in such discomfort. After prescribing the appropriate meds, she asked that I call her back toward the end of the day to let her know how Cesar was feeling. I told her how hard it was, at times, to get a timely appointment when my dog was in pain and she said to call the office to ask for her and she would come to the phone! Then she gave me extra pain relievers for my dog just in case I needed them! What a relief to be given such caring attention! I love Dr. Dayna Dessa!
