We have taken our dog Charlie here several times over the past year to board when we go away, starting when he was about 10 months old. He is always well-taken care of and is happy to see Barb, Chad, and staff when we drop him off for his boarding stays. We know that he is in good hands in their care!Barb is very friendly and kind to talk to over the phone and in person!We also love that it’s just 10 min from our home. Another kennel we used before for our old dog was decent, but much further of a drive and the staff not as personable and friendly as Tail Country Pet Resort!I highly recommend Tail Country Pet Resort for your dog’s boarding needs if you’re in the Dallastown/Jacobus/Loganville areas!

This was our dog’s first time staying here. He came home a happy dog! He and his bedding didn’t stink unlike keeping at other places. The staff is nice. The place is beautiful. I will definitely be putting my dog there again when I need to go away and know he is safe and well.

Barbara and team was incredible with our aging dog and provided us with the upmost security and relief every time we traveled — she was always in the best hands in their care! We recently had to put our dog to rest and the handwritten card and keepsake we received from them was not on a constant reminder of our pet but also the love and dedication that Tail Country Pet Resort gave her!Thank you again so much Barbara!

I cannot say enough about Tail Country! I love the staff and Barb, the owner, truly cares about every dog as if it is her own. They know all of the dogs that come to daycare and customize the groups so that all dogs will be their happiest. My dog Lacey loves to run and bark and they never complain. They learned quickly that she loves attention and toys and made it so she had a great time. Furthermore, they have a GREAT interactive rest time for the dogs. They don't leave them out playing together all day because some dogs are bound to get tired and frustrated. They allow them chill time in their own rooms with an occasional puzzle or something so that they can relax and then have the best play possible. They are flexible and really do the best they can for every dog. Take your dog to Tail Country if you want them to be treated as family!

Our mini doxie, Sadie Belle, loves her visits to Tail Country Pet Resort. She has been boarded multiple times while we were away. She also loves her daily stays at “Puppy School” while we are at work. It is such a peace of mind to know that she is loved and cared for while she is there. As soon as we mention that she is going to “Puppy School” at Tail Country, Sadie gets so excited and races to the door! We highly recommend Tail Country Pet Resort to all of our friends and their fur babies!

Amazing facility and staff! We adopted our girl about 6 months ago and were terrified to board her for the first time for a week long trip. Barbara, the owner, made us feel so much better about everything, and Ripley was so happy and healthy when we picked her up.Tail Country's communication is phenomenal, and I was so impressed by their intake process and attention to detail from cataloging every item we brought for Ripley, to washing her puzzle toys and food bowl each day.We will definitely be reoccurring customers for boarding! My only advice is to book with them early because their slots fill up fast.

My dog goes to daycare at TailBangers. When I say to Piper..."wanna go play?" she immediately heads to the car she's so excited to go to TailBangers. The facility was built with every little detail in mind and the staff is so caring. Activities are based around the weather, today was hot and the pups enjoyed played in the pools to cool off. A full detailed report is given every day for your pet.When we go on vacation all 4 of our dogs will enjoy their own vacation at TailBangers. Finally a top quality kennel and daycare in Southern York County!

My puppy is 4.5 months old and has attended daycare twice now. From the start I knew I was going to trust sending my pup here. They are very strict with vaccines and negative stool samples which puts me at ease sending my little pup there. I also know that they do not allow aggressive dogs to participate in daycare, which also gives me a sigh of relief knowing my pup is in good hands and will be safe. You can tell Barb and her staff LOVE what they do. I work long days at the hospital so it’s nice to know my pup can play safely on the days I’m working and not be in his crate. I pick him up after work and he sleeps allllllll night! So far nothing but positive things to say about this place, we will continue to send Finley 1-2 days a week for socialization. thanks! 🙂

I drove there to check out the facility before signing up to board my dogs. I was stopped in driveway and told they don't give tours. No tours can be scheduled because they keep "government" dogs there and I need to go online to see pictures of the facilities. Also the only way to contact them is by filling out a request form and submitting it online. I had already filled a request form a few days prior to showing up and did not get a reply. Why would I assume the pictures online are true, what kind of place doesn't allow a tour? Would you drop your child off at a daycare without looking inside at least? My dogs are very important to me and while they may not be special "government" dogs they are special to me. This may be the best place ever but I wouldn't know because I'm not allowed to enter. I'll take them to a place I can at least see before leaving them overnight.

Fantastic owners and staff, great facility! We have had our rescues for 12 years (13 y/o Border Collie) and 8 years (11 y/o Jack Russell) and we've always had a family member stay with them, so they have never been boarded. We were very anxious about how they would do with boarding and did a lot of research and asked for recommendations - Tail Country Pet Resort had a great reputation, so I reached out and the owner, Barb, was so patient with me as I asked a million questions. We loved that our dogs were able to room together and that they had tons of walks included in the regular daily fee, which was very reasonably priced. Both dogs did great and we look forward to booking another visit next time we travel!

Barbara and her staff at Tail Country are so kind and true dog lovers! Our pup, Norman stayed at Tail Country when he was just 4 months old for nearly three weeks, so it was very difficult to leave him, but he did great and received so much love and attention. He attended daycare with other dogs and went on nature walks, etc. He’s much better on a leash now, listens to commands and is calmer and more confident overall. I highly recommend Tail Country for boarding or daycare. It’s spotlessly clean and is located on gorgeous acreage in a quiet country setting. Absolutely five stars!!

Updated note 7/2022: this was my second time taking Koda to Tail Country for grooming. Nothing fancy but they wash him up, deshed and give him a bandana or tie and he’s a happy lighter boy!All the staff are so nice and their facility is gorgeous. I couldn’t recommend them enough to all dog owners in the York area! Koda loves coming here and is always tired the next day! A+++

We ALWAYS recommend Tail Country Pet Resort to other pet parents! We have known Barb and Chad for years, and trusted our dogs with their care even before our human babies came. The facility is immaculate and the staff has always been polite and helpful. Our current dogs can be a handful, and I always feel comfortable dropping them off for their ‘doggy hotel’ stay when we are going away for vacation. I know they will be properly cared for and comfortable just as if they were at home.

Barb and her staff are great. Our dog goes to daycare there and you can tell she enjoys it. She pulls at the leash to get in and is totally exhausted when she gets home.We recently had a family emergency and it was going to be difficult to be able to pick up our dog from daycare. Barb stepped up and made room for Blondie to spend the night. I highly recommend Tail Country for daycare or boarding. They truly love what they do and take excellent care of your pets.Web Burrier

Our golden retriever pup, Hooper goes there regularly to get the social interaction and training that a pup needs. All I have to say is,”do you want to go see Barb and Archer” and he is ready. Hooper boarded there when he was just four months old. I truly cannot recall a time in my life when I did not have a dog. Unfortunately in the early months of the pandemic I lost my beloved Border Collie. I then decided to adopt not one, but two puppies. I know that socialization is critical, and the pandemic made that particularly tricky. Enter Tail Country. I wanted to know my girls were not just running around crazy, but were engaged, safe, and cared for. They both graduated the puppy academy and continue in both the daycare and enrichment programs. The staff are amazing, responsive, and attentive; not only to the dogs, but to the needs of the pet parents as well. I do not simply like the incredible folks at Tail Country, I trust them.

We took our two corgis for doggie daycare and they had a wonderful time. They were happy and tired after their day. The staff takes great care to make sure the dogs are safe and owners are happy. I would never hesitate to leave your dogs in their capable care. The facility is way out in the country south of York but so worth the drive. They also board dogs but we only have done the daycare.

We recently lost our 11yr old Cane Corso. My husband and I booked his last kennel stay at Tailbangers. We wanted him to be as comfortable as possible while we were gone. When I recently called to cancel his upcoming stay because of his passing, Barbara was extremely sympathetic. Just a few days later, we received a heartfelt, handwritten card expressing her condolences along with a beautiful memorial keepsake. We were very surprised by such a gesture and felt the genuine sadness she felt for the loss of our sweet boy. When the time is right and we find a new friend, I would think of no other place to board our dog. ❤️

I know this sounds cliche, but my dogs are truly my family. When my wife and I decided to adopt another dog after losing our beloved girl last year, the pandemic was in full swing. I contacted several locations who offered training and day boarding for dogs. Since socialization is crucial for a healthy, well-rounded dog, we knew we needed to make a decision. Ultimately, we didn't select the closest, but we selected the best. A team of providers who care for our dogs like they were their own.That's right...we now have two rescues participating in puppy enrichment activities, group play time, and one on one time with a trainer.We have been using Tail Country for over 7 months and I don't see us stopping any time soon!

I contacted Barbara after our dog bite my 5 year old son, she was extremely helpful to us in navigating the situation. Sadly, our dog needs aggressive behavior training and our vet referred us to a trainer dealing with these types of issues. We will use TailBangers for boarding once our fur baby is trained properly. Barbara is honest and compassionate, she does not sugar coat the issue to make you feel better. Personally, I prefer honesty any day! Very helpful! Thanks Barbara!

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!! This is the only kennel where I have felt completely comfortable leaving our German Shepherd. When I picked him up he was just as excited to see the mornings staff that had been taking care of him all week out in the lobby as he was to see me. He popped his front paws on the counter just to reach them. That's a good sign! He has never been like that at any kennel.Our pup had a very traumatizing experience at the last kennel he was in mere weeks prior to his stay here, so I was very nervous to say the least. One that resulted in a severe skin reaction. Tailbangers said they would keep an eye on him and if he seemed stressed they would put him in a larger indoor kennel. I had scheduled him for an indoor outdoor. Upon pick up my boy had clearly had an amazing vacation as stated in the paragraph above.We will not go anywhere else. Don't ever hesitate to bring your pup's here they are awesome! It is clear the staff care about your pets experience .Not to mention they get hand walked!! The facility is extremely clean, bright, and welcoming. From the facility to the staff, I can't say enough positive things about this place.Thank you for building such a wonderful facility and business. I can finally feel at ease leaving my pup in anothers care!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience with TailBanger's Pet Resort. My two dogs were previously staying with a relative during our vacations, however, circumstances changed and we needed a facility to take our dogs to. I have never wanted to kennel my dogs and was incredibly apprehensive when I first contacted TailBangers.I would like to say first, that I am very impressed with how clean the resort is. I can't even tell there any dogs there. No lingering odors or dog hair. This is a huge selling point for me. We picked our dogs up today and they don't even need a bath, which is usually a MUST if you kennel your dog. The owners truly have the best intentions for every guest at the resort, and will do everything in their power to ensure that the dogs are safe and happy.As a person who is extremely anxious to leave their dogs anywhere, I feel completely comfortable leaving my dogs at TailBangers. Our next vacation in November will leave us without service for 9 days, and I am so relieved that I have found a reputable place to watch my furbabies for me.

Barb, thank you for talking to me today and letting me share my frustration. I appreciate you expressing that you would use this feedback as an area for staff development and growth. Let me start by saying, I have never posted a negative review comment (ever) and my preference is to broadcast positive experiences. However, I do believe I need to share the experience I had yesterday when taking my pup to daycare for the very first time. Neither my dog nor I have ever experienced a doggie daycare and I was really excited to embark on this adventure for him as he is a playful, loveable mini poodle. When I arrived at Tail Country to drop him off, the owner, Barbara was so unpleasant I actually considered leaving with my dog. I held on to hope that my afternoon pick up would be a better experience and I could put aside the morning interaction. Upon my arrival, I was informed immediately that he ‘had a very bad day’. The woman’s description was that he did not interact with any of the other dogs and ‘looked like a shelter dog’ just sitting by himself, looking sad. She continued to say he did not even interact with a small dog that tried to play. I asked if she thought it could be because he has never been to a dog daycare and it may take some time. I was informed it was not a good fit and I left with a mix of emotions. I was so confused as my guy loves playing with other dogs and has frequent play dates with dogs of friends and family. I really expected a more nurturing experience and I never dreamed a dog could be rejected from daycare due to not being playful on day one. Learning experience all around...
