Inquired about adopting a dog. I had applied forever ago and never heard back them. They were in contact with me today and eventually deleted the post of the dog I was interested in and I asked them for an update and they responded that he was adopted. The fact that I put an application in so long ago, never heard back, and then didn’t get a chance this time after they were actually in contact with me and still no luck. I give them props for what they do, but I will adopt from any other rescue but blue chip. It was a total turn off and gave me a different outlook on them.

We had to put our furbaby to rest a while back and we were broken over it . Oscar was 14 yrs old. We thought of adopting but just weren't ready. We were always looking though. We eventually saw this beautiful Dog at the SPCA . When we inquired they told us she was set to be put down but then some how Blue Chip intervened and we made an appt to see her. She looked just like our Oscar !! She was abandoned and was in great need of a home. We fostered her for a few months and then decided to make her a member our our family. We LOVE her. Thank you Blue Chip for saving her life so she could become part of ours.

One of the best and most caring animal rescues around. If you're interested in adopting an animal there is no better place to go.Extremely friendly staff!!

I was told to fill out an application.I then recieved no response, they ignored phone calls and did not return voixe messages. Then they clearly sold my info or their site is hacked because I immediately received spam phone calls where people knew details about me which is scary. I do not reccomend!

0 Stars. I went to go volunteer hoping I could help all the doggies and kitties! Instead one of the volunteers let a dog bite me on purpose. They also all had bad attitudes and the living conditions of the animals is sub-par. No wonder they're short staffed!

People who need pets need to contact these people. Nice facility, wonderful volunteers. We have gotten three rabbits from there.

This place stole a family members service dog and refused to answer the phone, then finally got back to us saying we "abandoned" her and one of the employees adopted her. I hope this scam gets shut down.

Went to adopt an adorable pup from them today having already been approved to adopt this specific dog. Drove an hour there only to be told he was adopted out an hour before we got there. Terrible that they would do this to people. Be sure to make sure no one else already had applications approved before making the trip here.

I loved the refuge. It's wide open peaceful farmland with a variety of different rescued animals. They have horses, pigs, a goat named Mirabel, cats, dogs and a rabbitat. It's a great place to visit, spend a few hours and enjoy the countryside. I especially loved the bunnies.

Great place they build for those angels. Thank you very much for doing that! They need the community support so, if you wish you can contact them and cooperate in any way you are able to. ❤️

With my experience, it's not a terrible place. However, we did adopt sibling senior cats and we're only told that they had health problems as we were adopting them, we were given no prior knowledge or instructions. We found out more health problems with them on a Facebook post on their page. We weren't told what was going on with them health wise. Also, when we first go there, we had no idea where to go. There was no one waiting, we were not told where to go, there was no sign of anyone being there. As this is our first time adopting from their shelter, we're a bit disappointed. I think they can do a little better, but we still had a decent experience for a farm/rescue shelter.

My son had an appointment to see a dog 1 hour before they gave the dog to someone else. Never called him to let him know. They drove an hour and the dog was gone. Obviously they either new the people or didn't check to see if they were the right family going to adopt the dog . Will never deal with them. Not good

Any time I have interacted with staff/volunteers from Blue Chip Farm, I've encountered extreme rudeness, negativity, and an apparent lack of concern for animals in need. I called once to ask if they could help my mother, who wanted to spay/neuter and find homes for a cat and kittens she found behind her home. Years later, I called to ask about volunteering but was put off by the attitude I received on the phone.Today, I called to explain that I needed advice on rescuing a friendly but scared feral cat who was seriously injured. I clearly stated that I was not looking to surrender the cat but was seeking some assistance with capture so I could get him to a vet. He would come up to me but would not let me pick him up, and I didn't have a trap.About two minutes into the call, an emergency vet I had been trying to reach called on my other line. I apologized for the interruption and said I would call Blue Chip back as soon as I had spoken with the doctor. When I phoned back a few minutes later, I spent approximately 10-15 seconds rehashing the situation before the woman loudly interrupted by blurting out, "So what do you want from us?! I'm kind of busy!" I replied, "Nothing," and let her get back to whatever she was busy with. Clearly, they have better things to do than to help a person who wants to save a cat in dire need.In case you think I'm exaggerating the amount of her time I "wasted," my phone indicates that the first call lasted 2 minutes. The second call lasted exactly 27 seconds. Before donating to Blue Chip or making the mistake of disrupting them with requests related to helping animals in need, I urge you to look into the many complaints against them. I wish I had learned from my own previous experiences and listened to all the negative feedback I'd heard from others. From this point forward, this organization will not receive a penny from me, and that makes me sad for the animals who will come into their care. I truly hope Blue Chip treats them better than they treat the public and their donors.

I am a huge animal lover, I recently gave a large donation to the Spca. I asked the guy at the desk if they euthanize animals right away he said no to me, looked me straight in the face three times come to find out after doing research, they do euthanize animals after very short periods of time I would never ever ever take an animal to the SPCA. I love blue chip, I decided to take my second donation box up to blue Chip I left it in my vehicle overnight and I had a little bit of a spill. The guy was very nice to me. Took the box out of my car wiped everything down and I think where blue Chip is located. It is so beautiful up there. They do a lot for animals and they are a no kill shelter. I will continue to donate because blue chip has a special place in my heart. Everyone up there is very kind and I will continue to support them. I have a miniature schnauzer he is the light of my life. He is my best friend. Some people may not understand that but he truly is I wish I could adopt a cat that I’m trying to find a home for. She is a stray but she’s so very friendly. I will keep trying until someone has space for her, but I will never take her to the SPCA. She is feral, but she is beautiful and very kind.

My parents bought me and my siblings a puppy from this refuge named "Elaine" and they said she needed a vaccination right as we were leaving. So we gave them the pup back and got a call when we got home. On the call we were told someone said that we supposedly said we said that we were going to keep her in a kennel outside when we specifically said that we would not. They refunded us but via a check even though we paid with credit that could just be refunded that way. My mom texted the owner saying "I'm heartbroken. How can you complete a family and rip it apart so easily." You guys are absolutely horrible and your keeping her inside a kennel outside so I don't know why you guys would yell at us even if we supposedly had said that. We were asked while there "Will you keep her outside in a kennel?" While we were there. I absolutely think you guys are over-rated and a horrible place for animals. I don't understand why people praise your refuge when it is absolutely horrible. You guys are max capacity so I don't understand why you would lie to keep a puppy out of a happy home and family. I hope that you realize that that specific dog was the ONLY dog my brother has not been scared of. And that I had an emotional breakdown after that call to us was made. I hope that this helps whoever is looking to adopt from there. To the people who might have bought Elaine after this was made or before we bought her I hope you understand that she was basically stolen from us for no reason. I took pictures of her and absolutely loved her. You guys are monsters there.

I went to visit the facility to go see a dog I was interested in. When I arrived I had no idea where to go and had to ask more than one person where the office was. When I arrived, a women, who I assume is in charge of applications, asked me if I had an application, which I stated I completed. I was told a family was in front of my application since they have adopted previously from the organization. A volunteer took me to see the dog, who was about two years old and was completed trained. The women in the office came back while I was interacting with the dog and told me that the dog was not a good fit because I work full time and she could not be left unsupervised for that long. She did not ask questions or attempt to inquire more information from me. I attempted to explain that I worked 5 minutes away from my home and have an hour lunch break, but the women appeared uninterested. I was confused as one would think that it’s imperative to have money, therefore work, in order to take proper care of a dog. The volunteer was very sweet and allowed me to walk her. When I went to bring her back in, I was asked if I was interested in one of the puppies they had. I was baffled as the reasoning for not being qualified to adopt the dog that was fully trained was because I worked 8 hours daily but felt I was qualified to adopt a puppy, which needs consistent care. Although the volunteer was very sweet and friendly, I did not feel comfortable being there let alone adopt a dog from there.

First off I'll say I appreciate all the work and effort that goes into owning a rescue. Hence the extra star.We lost our fur baby a few months back, and have since applied to several shelters and rescues in the area. We have heard back about every application, except Blue Chip. This was early November. It's now nearing the end of December. We own our home, have a fenced yard, no animals or children, there should be no issue processing the application in a month's time. But we actually took a drive to the facility. The woman who greeted us was very nice, we told her about our previous dog and she said she'd show us around. We got to the area where there dogs were kept, which is pretty tight. We were looking at a few dogs and were originally told we could walk the dogs or take them out to play, then after she checked with the owner, we were told we can not take any dogs out to look at them or play with them, and after another family came in we were basically shooed out the door. This was our first time working with blue chip and it will be the last. It left a very poor impression and was disheartening to say the least. But there's always a silver lining, we chose to adopt from Griffin Pond and pick our new baby up next week.

I cannot believe what just happened with Blue Chip. Went there last weekend and did the application online. We looked at a few dogs and fell in love with a two-year-old pitbull. He had a cherry eye that needed surgery and needed to be fixed. We told them we would take him the way he way because we just wanted a dog after beloved dog had passed. They said they would call us back once his surgery was done. Never got a call back and we kept calling. Then we were told he was with a foster. Owner said she would call us back if the foster was willing to let us get the dog without the cherry eye surgery and getting fixed. Never a call back. And then finally I called again and was told that the foster was keeping the dog. This was after we had been approved and we were told we would have the dog. This was a terrible adoption experience and we are heartbroken. We had bought several beds, food, leashes for the dog, but mostly our hearts were open to have another dog to love. I can’t believe an adoption place would run like this. Never again. We are in shock. Please beware. From other reviews this seems like it hasn’t been the first time that they have had issues with adoptions. Seems to have worked with others but their lack of organization has caused broken hearts and false expectations for many.

Some of the volunteers are very nice and work very hard.... however...Adopted a dog and it just didn't work. I tried for a month. The dog was very sweet, but she really needed someone who could be with her nearly 24/7 and that just wasn't possible. There was no way for either of us to know that ahead of time. They gave me all kinds of assurances that everything would be great and if not just bring her back and we'll refund you no problem. That is also in their written contract that they made.It tore me up to make the decision to bring the dog back, but I knew I had to. When I brought her back it was suddenly a whole new tune. No one was nice and the one guy looked at the dog and said, "Don't worry, we'll find a *good* home for you." They weren't interested whatsoever in what I had to say about the dog's problems and what type of home I thought she needed. They totally dismissed me. I brought her back September 5th. It is now 12/7/20 and they still refuse to refund me. I donated all of her (mostly unused) supplies and told them to keep $50 as a donation and I wanted the rest back. They keep telling me they will send it. I spoke directly to the owner and she said to me on the phone, "It will go out today" that was 10/19/20. I've sent follow up emails and contacted someone else. They just won't give it to me while acknowledging they owe it to me.I happen to know for a 100% fact (they posted it on their FB) that someone adopted the dog, so they got 2 fees for the same dog.

We got our baby Sadie here. She is absolutely great! The owner and volunteers were very nice. The only snag we had was that we picked out a puppy and it was given to someone else because they removed the tag with our name on it--- but we got our Sadie instead...so I'm happy.I also did part of my photo internship here during college. I took many photos of the sweet animals and it went so well!

We have been super pleased with Blue Chip since working with them for the past month. We adopted our little guy, Tucker, a little over three weeks ago. We noticed an issue and took him to the vet and found out he was in kidney failure. Immediately we got on the phone with Blue Chip and they have been amazing ever since. Getting us appointments with internal specialists and holding up every word they have given us. We did not have this positive experience with the rescue we dealt with for our first pup. Amazing job and you can tell they want to help these animals!

We had a loss in our family and we couldn't keep our pup. We definitely did not want to take her to a place where there would be a possibility of her getting put down. They were quick to lend a helping hand, though we did get "yelled" at for going back to see our loved puppy one last time until they find her forever home... but they know what's best. I will be donating blankets and cash every year due to them helping me find a home for our much loved puppy. Thank You Blue Chip!!!! 💜

Friendly staff. Clean facilities. Wish I could have kept the cat but he needed a quiet home after being saved from a hoarding situation.

Great facility and they treat the dogs well. However, they do not operate a fair or ethical business for those interested in adopting. My wife took time out of her work day to volunteer there Wednesday. She spent a significant amount of time with one particular dog and both of them had a connection to one another, many commented on that including workers there. Immediately my wife asked if anyone had an application in and she was told no. My wife quickly put in an application that same day. She called Thursday to see the status of the application and was told no one reviewed it yet. They were closed Friday so first thing today she called again. This time she was told that the dog had been adopted and went home Thursday. Seriously! She was told over the phone that the person that took the dog home was already in there system, came in Thursday and was interested in the dog and took her home.Needless to say my wife is devastated and heartbroken . I have no respect for this business anymore and they play favorites.
