The employees and van drivers were so nice! They were pleasant and answered any questions nicely and compently. The trip itself was so nice and relaxing! The drop off was easy, and it was easy to get back in once we were back to the start. 10/10 would recommend, and we will definitely keep coming back.

Been coming here for over 20 years. Never went anywhere else. They have gotten pricey over the years, but I think it's worth it. Sometimes you have to wait awhile when it's slammed. Other times you can get in quick, depends on the day and time. In late summer their usually very busy. You MUST try their Hershey ice cream, so dang good. People are nice too, they load your stuff.

Had such an amazing time, the river and view on this float is amazing.. it even rained on us and we didn’t care because we had so much fun. We did tubing, $15 for a single tube , $28 for a double. I feel that they could maybe us upgrading on their facility though.

Tubing, kayaking, and canoeing all from one location. Price includes shuttle to the launch point. We took the 10 mile canoe trip and we would do it again in a heartbeat! A 3-hour excursion on the river soothes the soul. The outfitter itself is well organized. They supply everything.

My daughters and I came for a second time for kayaking. Its inexpensive and a lot of fun with different things to choose from other than just kayaking.. there's food and ice cream also inexpensive yet very good!! A cute little store with all sorts of things to purchase.. the people are nice and the facilities are clean.

We had the best time so did two trips during our stay in Cook Forest! They really have a smooth operation going. And the river is stunning.

Awesome experience! Everyone was very helpful, from the easy check in, to the shuttle driver, and the guys that get your equipment at the end of the run. The water was low, about 2.5 feet, but as long as you avoid the rocks sticking out you won't have any problems. Beautiful river and scenery! I highly recommend Pale Whale Canoe & Kayaks!

One of the best kayak adventures I had! Would surely recommend this place to everyone who love to go out for such trips! There are bear by places to hang out for quick bites as well. Also there is a spot called Fire Tower Near by which is a must visit as well !

Great experience, reasonable prices. They make doing a river float trip so much easier with supplying you with a tube and transporting you up the river. Everyone was very nice. They do get pretty busy on weekends in the summer so prepare to wait but they run a very organized business and I’m happy to use them when we want to tube!

Great staff, easy to rent, they have vans that take you up the river to the boat launch point. They also have a little ice cream/food place on site that has great ice cream and decent food after you boat down the river for a few hours.

We brought our own gear just needed a ride . Its a 10 min ride to the start launch of the 10 mile float in that ten min drive they lost both of our paddles than tried to give us a hard time when we got mad about it we were almost 2 hrs late to start and barley got the money back to cover the paddles. Customer service is important and this place has none .

My wife and I have been going to Cook Forest for many years. We always take a 4-mile canoe trip with Pale Whale. We've been bringing our son along too! They run a well-oiled machine! No long waits. No confusion. Friendly people. Reasonable price.

Adorable little shop! My boyfriend, my puppy and I all did the 4 mile trip. We used our own canoe, but you can rent a canoe, kayak, or tube. You leave your car there then a van drives you and your boat down the road and you can float down Clarion river till you reach your car.

Pale Whale met expectations with the renting and drop off. They fell greatly short in the canoe/tube removal from the river and customer service. We had a group of around 20 people that rented from the company and 5 that brought their own kayaks. Upon the completion point where you are supposed to take the floats out of the river, multiple workers gave our group a hard time for using the exit location.Upon taking out the five non rented kayaks, a larger middle aged man from Pale Whale came over and made a fool out of himself on four different scenarios. Saying he was cutting us slack letting us use his exit point, raising his voice and trying to intimidate our group members and ultimately singling out one of our members and warning him about the dangers of the Pale Whale location. This employee was doing this to PAYING CUSTOMERS!Needless to say, this man was on a power trip and trying to act macho in front of a group of people. We will not be back and suggest you avoid as well.

So much fun, although they should not be renting out canoes with the water so low. That was not fun. Tubing was great though.

Went to rent a raft for 6 people was told they had one, went thru the process to get the raft and then was told they did not have one available. So we planned to go back the next day and the river was too low to use a raft. Not anyone's fault we will try to come back next year

Went tubing with our own tubes. When we were done and came up the ramp by the pale whale this gentleman started screaming at us for no reason. Come to find out it was the owner (male Karen for sure). We were going to pay them to take us back down to our car but we ended up getting a ride from someone else. We were on a girls trip and instead of being a kind man he was an extremely aggressive obnoxious man. He lost a lot of business from us.

So glad we found this place instead of Cook Forest Canoe Rentals. Pale Whale is on River Rd., a single turn off of the main drag (Rt 36). It’s not far at all but we overlooked it in the past because the other place is right on Rt 36. Pale Whale is way (WAY!) better than Cook Forest Canoe Rentals!! There is more parking, the equipment is much nicer/newer/better maintained, the transport vehicles are nice vans instead of ramshackle broken down school buses, and there is a little food stand right on site. Bonus: restrooms are clean and the staff is more than friendly and helpful. Pricing is comparable - might even be a little less. Plus they will transport you and your own equipment (ex: kayaks) upriver for 1/2 the full price. Then they pull your kayak out for you and carry it to the parking lot. Can’t say enough good about our experience!

This place is absolutely amazing. The process is quick to register and get your tube/canoe/raft. The shuttle drivers are incredibly informative and helpful. There is a small cafe and a gift store right on the same property as well. The tubing trip I took was an absolute blast. I did the full 4 miles and it was worth it! Great day on the river!

When visiting the Cook Forest state park this is one of the best attractions. Floating down the Clarion River in any of the options provided from canoe/tubes/rafts or kayak exposes one of the true beauties of the park . Afterwards they also provide the opportunity for a treat or snack at dairy bar next door. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and also check on customers as they travel along the road incase anyone is in need of assistance in river.Equipment is in good condition and any information for your journey is provided , such as water depth / temperature and safety status.Number one choice for a river journey.

Not for experienced paddlers. Equipment sub-par and river busy . River was low, but scenic and flow decent. Packed with hundreds of tubing patrons. Went on a Sunday. Cook Forest beautiful.

Our go to for Canoeing down the Clarion. Pale Whale always has a helpful & friendly staff. This year we decided to go tubing, it was a blast. Unfortunately I have no photos as I’m too chicken to risk losing my phone

A truly wonderful place to visit. Awesome owners who have made this place really fun for the whole family. Well organized canoe rentals, Great snack bar with ice cream, burgers, fries and almost anything you would like. A very nice gift shop with a nice variety of souvenirs and gifts. You wont be disappointed and be ready for fun!!

Great day on the river. Even though there were lots of people there, I never felt concerned about my health's safety. Everyone standing in line to arrange their excursion and pay, all wore their masks. On the river, between the width of the river and everyone floating at their own pace, we were very much 'socially distant.' Will definitely do this again, but maybe earlier in the Summer, so the water level would be higher.

Great place for tubing and canoes. Staff aren't rude, but could be a little more friendly. Tubes are in good condition and they had trips leaving regularly. We did our 4 mile trip in just over 2 hours. Individual results may vary. Do not forget sunscreen and enjoy yourself!
