I can't speak to the cabins, just the store. The employees are great; patient, helpful and kind. I couldn't find my group and had no cell signal. They helped me hook to their guest wifi and helped me with directions. They have a great selection of souvenirs. Mostly shirts and sweatshirts, but wide selection.

My husband and I have enjoyed going to McBeth’s cabins for at least 18 years now. We bring our two large dogs and they feel right at home. Many walks and great camp 🔥 fires. Enjoy the peace and quiet and all of nature beauty. We go a few times a year. Cabins are cozy and warm and clean.Walkability: Enjoy the walking trails with our dogs

Cook forest staple. They have everything you will need. Super nice folks too. They even have food trucks and live music and craft beer in the summer time

I’ve been going here for 23 years. The price keeps going up but I rarely see any improvements to my stay.I understand the difficulty of trying to maintain the cabin “vibe” while keeping things up to date, but here are my recommendations:Consider renovating the bathrooms and kitchens of cabins. Most of the bathrooms have poor lighting, and moldy shower curtains/showers.Kitchens could use updated appliances. Some kitchens do not provide microwaves/toasters. Even though I would rarely use those, it would be nice to have when I do.Kitchens should also provide basic cooking utensils. Every year, I have to half of my kitchen because these are not provided.Cabins should have more places to hang clothes/towels/swimwear rather than just nails in the doors/walls.The window curtains should cover the entire window, most leave at least an inch uncovered.Other than that, it’s a nice place to stay. There’s almost always something going on when you walk down to the gas station now, which is something I really enjoyed over the past few years.

What can be said about a cabin on the Clarion River, with beautiful weather? Lots of firewood and comfortable chairs to watch the day go by.Nearby activities: Within Cook Forest State ParkWalkability: Beautiful trails including the Forest Cathedral. 400 year old Giant Hemlock trees that 200' tall.

The only gas station in town. Good place to visit if you want a souvenir, forget something for camping, or want some ice cream. Over the years they added an outdoor wine area, bbq pit, and now a bar truck.

This place is amazing. There's a little bit of magic to a camp ground by a flowing river that's clear enough that you can see the bottom. The facilities are clean and well kept. The staff is amazing, genuine, and kind. They are really here to help. By the time our group left, we felt like we were leaving long time friends/family. They really care that much about their guests. My whole group Loved this place, and I heartily recommend that you give them a visit. You won't be disappointed!

I just got home from a fantastic weekend away at MacBeth Cabins! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They appreciated us renting the cabin, and treated us like we were the most important guest there. I was immersed in nature and amazing scenery at both MacBeth and the trails in Cook’s Forest (Not to mention the breathtaking night sky). I’m looking forward to going back at least annually.

Have been going here every year since I was a kid. 40 years now. And it's one of the awesomest places I've ever been. Absolutely beautiful super peaceful yet I have had some of the most fun in my life here, also. Now we're bringing my niece and nephew, a new generation here to make more memories. I absolutely love this place the cabins are rustic yet perfect. And very well maintained the entire area is.

Edit: we came back again in april 2024. Now with 3 boys instead of just 1. We loved our stay here. Lots of family memories. Thank you macbeth cabins. You're the best!!!We unfortunately had to leave the night before checkout because of our baby came down with a fever. But Macbeth's is the best place to stay at Cook Forest!!! The family who runs it is lovely. Their cabins are the definition of social distancing. Great way to get away from it all lol

This was the spot if your trying to get away and completely tune out. Cabin I stayed in was 11 and has no wifi, no TV just a cabin, which we loved. It was a great view and the staff are very nice. Great place for the dog also. Wish the store was open on Tuesday and Wednesday but we made due and will choose this place again. I would say the price may be a little high but it was what we needed.

Great family run business. Beautiful setting. The camp store has everything you might need to have a great visit. The gift shop has good quality tee shirts and hoodies, as well as a wide variety of other great souvenir choices. The view from our second row cabin was amazing. The cabins are on three levels and given the steepness of the hill, the view from the second and third rows is unobstructed to the river. I was there for the fall foliage, but I want to go back and stay in canoe weather. There is a canoe rental place across the street. I can walk back to the cabin instead of getting into the car in wet clothes. I haven't tried the pizza yet, but I'm going to put it on the menu for our next visit.

It has been years since I stayed at the cabin, but when I did it was very nice. Right by the river. We do go to the store all the time and it is very nice. Some groceries, some camping supplies and coffee, most important. There is a small deli where you can get a sandwich and I believe they also sell pizza. The shop attached has souvenirs, ice cream and an assortment of other items including water shoes and some blow up rafts for the river. They also have a wine shoppe that is very good.If you visit I don't think you will be disappointed. They also sell gas.

We didnt stay at Macbeths but they had a general store and souvenier shop, gas. Also an ice cream palor, wine tasting, wine slushies, then they had Copleys BBQ, and a Clarion River brewery. Copleys BBQ had Redneck Eggrolls,( goodness deep fried) Fender Bender,( cheesey, briskety, French fries), Apple dumplings to die for especially when she warms them up and you go in the ice cream place..... you dont even know! But the Ribs were the tenderest juicest ribs Ive ever eaten. Kudo's to Copleys BBQ! The next stop was clarion River brewery, Good craft beers.Nearby activities: Down the street, both ways activities for kids and adults.

Great cabins and store ran by amazing people! Right in the heart of cook forest. Highly recommend this place. They’ve got a little of everything from ice cream, to wine, to renting DVDs lolVery helpful if you need anything. True ambassadors of the state park community.

From the outside it looks like a simple gas station. Oh, but there is so much more to see! Clothing, knick-knacks, camping supplies, food, BATHROOM, and more. You wouldn't be wasting your time to stop in and see what's going on in here. The people who work there are always pleasant to speak with. We've never rented a cabin, though. We live so close that it would be a grand waste of money. For us.

The wine slushie was cool and refreshingly delicious. The clerk was very helpful with the tasting and suggestions to match our preferences. Left with a few bottles of deliciousness. I'm having a small glass.of the Cherry wine while relaxing on the deck.

I go every year, same cabin on the clarion river! Eagles and tubing are the main attractions, but the relaxation by a 🔥 is the best!! Everyone there is way cool and laid-back. Thank you Macbeth's for a fantastic vacation as always..

We have been camping at MacBeth’s Locust Lodge Campground for years. We love that they are located next to the Clarion River, providing excellent access to canoeing, tubing or floating down the river. In addition, this campground is small and nicely shaded. Each site is clean and well maintained. Bathrooms include clean, flushable toilets, sinks, and showers. Access to water to fill your tank and some sites that include electric hook up, if desired. Owners and caregivers don’t tolerate disruptive, disrespectful campers. Wi-Fi access at the general store which is directly across the street from the campground. General store has everything you have forgotten or would need in a pinch while on your trip. Staff is friendly and helpful. Sites are affordable and fair priced. We love it at Locust Lodge!

I spent the day at 3 Clarion cemeteries. Arrived after 6pm, they left a note for me on door of the store. Very nice cabin on the river. It was just a 1 night stay but highly enjoyable. Terrific morning coffee at the store!!!

Good selection and clean store. The owners are always so friendly! There’s definitely a lot more to choose from if you want to take home a shirt, cup, etc if you visit during peak season(summer) as opposed to fall it seems.Always a great place to grab some essentials when visiting Cook Forest.
