The Buckeye cabin was very comfortable! The couch was huge and the fireplace big and safe to use. The landlord supplied items that the listing stated we would need to, so it was a pleasant surprise, in addition to the chocolates and park map left for us. Firewood was ample, and it was very easy to obtain more. The beds were a little less comfortable than we'd hoped. Otherwise, it was a spectacular stay. The situation was beautiful and convenient, the landlord accessible during our holiday stay, and the attention to detail impressive. We would return to Top Hill again, and highly recommend a stay.Nearby activities: Cook Forest is the most stunning and serene woods I have ever walked. I would like to visit in the summer to experience some river activity, such as kayaking, and to hike the forest when it is fully green.Noteworthy details: The fireplace was wonderful, and a good supply of wood provided. There was a gas heater, as well, so the cabin was quite cozy.

Always a great experience staying at Cook Forest Hilltop cabins. Cabins stay toasty with the indoor fireplaces, there is plenty of space inside and outside the cabins for friends and family to gather, and the space is well decorated. Will be coming back!Nearby activities: Cooks forest is at your doorstep, giving you an amazing variety of fun outdoor activities

It's beautifully redone inside, perfect for a couple (and their dogs) I'm always greatful we can bring our dogs with us here.Nearby activities: So many trails to choose from. From flat short hikes by the creek to more challenging hikes up the hills

Been meaning to write a review! We been coming here since 2014 and love sunset maple, from the outside it may not look as big as it is but once inside the floor plan opens up into a huge living area with a massive stone fireplace which let's us bring the fire inside to enjoy when we want. The area where the cabins are located is just gorgeous, the cabin and firepit area is super convinient to the house for whatever you need. The cabin is always clean and as I said we have pretty much everything we need here. We love the big picture window that let's in alot of really nice light which makes it really cozy when we have coffee. Plenty of space in the bedrooms is always nice as well. Overall this for us is when fall starts and it's a great way to start the season. Now the only major thing we have come to realize that's we're missing and that is wifi in the cabin, while being unplugged for the most part is nice, we do find as years go by the little things you don't realize you do need from lack of wifi gets tougher. But we're happy that Lois and Larry are working on a solution. But that aside we do really love everything about our cabin as it feels like home away from home.

I rented 3 cabins for father's day. They welcomed our dogs as well, they are part of our family. The cabins have everything you need to cook inside and out. Everything was clean and quaint. My whole family enjoyed our 3 days there. Lots of stuff to do too. A just for little kids fishing pond, kayaking, trail hiking, horseback riding, family fun park with go carts and bumper boats. Lots of restaurants and a grocery store close by with really good meats. The owner visited us twice himself and is an amazingly friendly guy! Can't say enough good about our whole family's experience. Can't wait to do it again!! Wonderful place for all ages.

The Cook State Forest is a fantastic woodland with a variety of trails to explore. The cabins were conveniently located. Well equipped kitchen, full set of dishes, regular sized refrigerator and cooktop and oven. Bring your own towels and detox fromWiFi (none here). Plenty of firewood in the fire pit area as well as a nice covered porch.

We love staying at Old Hickory. Lois and Larry are the best! ( they run Top Hill Cabins) We keep coming back because of their service. Very comfy pine beds. Very clean. The whole cabin is pine! We stay here every year. Beautiful quiet cabin, you’ll see a lot of deer. It’s near other cabins but sits on a hill not far from the others. Beautiful fire space outside and they collect the garbage every day!! They take care of you!

We came back to hill top cabins to get the dogs away from fireworks over July 4th, for 2 nights. Fireworks are not allowed in Cook Forest. We did hear some from local towns while outside, but not inside the cabin with the TV on. Hickory Haven is very nice and well equipped. The granite counters in the kitchen were a surprise along with the new hard flooring. The kitchen has what you need. The only thing I noticed missing was casserole dishes or anything Corell like. They even provide soaps & lotions like hotels do. The property is lovely & peaceful. We will be back next year.

Top Hill Cabins was great! We stayed at Twin Oaks cabin. 4 of us plus our dog. A living/dining/kitchen room, 2 bedrooms and a full bathroom. Front and back covered porches with seating. Fire pit and charcoal grill with wooden swing and picnic table. Stayed for 2 nights in the middle of August. Place has a/c but we didn’t need it. 50 degrees overnight and a high of 74 during the day. Cooler in the woods. The apple tree next to the cabin provided the “very tame” deer some snacks. Literally ate apples while we roasted marshmallows 20 feet away. Located about 2 miles north of the Clarion River. Been home for 2 days and I miss it already. Place is small but very cozy. Kitchen was stocked well with utensils and pots/pans. Has a coffee pot and a keurig. Can’t wait to go back!Nearby activities: The Pale whale is 2 miles away with canoe and tube rentals. Also has an ice-cream shop. I think some food too. Many Trading posts near by. Fire tower and Seneca point about a mile or two away. Restaurant/ bar within walking distance. 5 min. Clear Creek state park about 15 min away. There you can go to Beartown rocks. Huge rocks in the middle of the woods. Kids and adults love to climb them.

Hi,We had a wonderful vacation. The cabin was centrally located and contained many amenities that you won't find at other cabins in the area. In the evenings, we enjoyed camp fires while watching deer walk through the property. Any request we had was immediately taken care of by the competent staff or Larry. For those that support veterans, it is worth noting that Larry is a veteran. I strongly recommend Top Hill Cabins!Kind Regards,Ed and Tanja Berkhouse

Another great weekend in the Cooks Forest area made even more special by the folks at Top Hill Cabins. Larry and Lois are the best and now their granddaughter is helping out. They always make you feel right at home. The Easter Bunny even made special rounds.Nearby activities: Lois and Larry are great hosts and the kind of small business you want to support. Staying at Cooks Forest Top Hill Cabins will never disappoint.

The Blue Spruce Cabin was the best! Only 3 years old, it was modern, clean and very well maintained! Booking was a breeze and Larry and Lois were very accommodating. Larry checked on us to make sure everything was perfect...and it was! They supplied ample firewood and the cabin site was lovely, especially with the porch swing that had a build in squeak! I'm already planning a trip back next summer with a different group of friends.

This was our 4th Winter Camp visit to Top of the Hill Campground. We rented the Buckeye Cabin which is a cozy cabin for 3 or 4 people, in my opinion it would be cramped with any more people than that. It has a nice kitchen with gas stove and full size fridge. It has a nice wood burning fireplace and gas heat in case a fire isn't your thing. They have basic Dish network and a DVD player. If you're into games and electronics it's best to have GOOD cell service... with unlimited plan. We have Spectrum and it gave us the service we needed, but slower. The outside deck and fire area are great!. There are also good restaurants nearby and lots to do, although you may want scope things out if you go in the colder months. Clarion & Punxsutawney aren't that far away. I'm you will enjoy your stay. Very relaxing!!

I've stayed here many times. They do a great job of making sure the cabins are really clean. It's a great location with plenty of hiking options around. One thing I would suggest is if you are planning to cook there, make sure that you bring whatever you need, including seasoning... Not a big deal at all (and not that they should provide), but there are no spices, oil, etc.I have stayed in the Hemlock Haven cabin several times, but after walking around the property, I am looking forward to trying out a few other cabins on future visits!Great place and highly recommended!

We stayed there for my birthday with 2 other couples, 6 of us total. The water had a heavy sulphur smell and taste. Didn’t find out until after our stay that the water could be treated. After we returned home, I contacted the owner regarding the water. I also said that there is no way 8 people could get a shower due to the lack hot water, 8 is the limit number of people who can stay in the cabin. I got accused of not being truthful and “got away with two extra guests” which was absolutely not true. I replied to the owner and did not receive an apology or acknowledgment. There are so many other cabin options in the area. We won’t be staying there again.
