Followed a Veterinarian from a different practice to Cochranton Veterinary Hospital. This was our first visit with our 17+ year old diabetic cat. This practice was very attentive and paid attention to his history. They handled him with care and ordered blood tests to check his levels for checking his medication requirements moving forward. Received the results quickly and was contacted directly by the Doctor.They couldn’t have been nicer. Would definitely recommend them.

I was told by the receptionist my appointment was for Tuesday at 11:20 am.I showed up Tuesday at 11:20 am. They then tell me your appointment is Wednesday at 11:20 am. I tell the receptionist that's not what I was told, I was told it's on tuesday(today.) So then they go check with the vet to see if he will still take my cat for an appointment. They come back and say I would have to pay an extra $20.00 to he seen today. Pay an extra $20.00 for a regular appointment. An appointment They wrote down and told me wrong!! Well of course I didnt pay it!! I won't be going back there again. Also my poor cat has a nervous breakdown with a car ride and they put her thru a car ride for nothing. Since they made the mistake of telling me the wrong day they really should have squeezed me in for the sake of my cat who has a ear infection. It seems these folks are not very dedicated to animals. They sure didn't care about my poor cat! Any other vet would have squeezed her in cause they made a mistake. Instead they caused my cat to have to suffer till she gets into another vet. Isn't there some kind of ethics in veterinarian medicine that says, "Do no harm"! Why would you make a cat go thru that if you profess to care about animals.

I don’t recommend this vet at all! I was charged for an urgent visit that I had to wait 2 days for. They had my sick cat for 3 days and didn’t do much for her but I paid a hefty price. The employees are shady and lie about services supposedly provided. Will never take a beloved pet here EVER! AND I WANT MY MONEY BACK!

I do not like to leave negative reviews for people that have helped me tremendously in the past. Up until until yesterday I would’ve recommended Cochranton Vet to anyone in need. Now I would NOT!!! My dog had a horrible experience and he will never go back. Yes everyone was polite and friendly but….. So my dog is nearly 15 years old. Has lots of joint issues. He was doing really well yesterday, running around and feeling great. I took him in for a small growth under his tail that’s been bothering him. I was given no advice on how to care for this until I asked then was told to keep doing what I’m doing for it. They did NOT handle him with the care he needed. He’s a very fragile dog. Doesn’t show it till he’s in bad pain. Kept petting him really hard, I could see it hurt his joints. Then the nurse that administered the rabies vaccine (that we got pushed into) just jabbed it in under his sore hip with no warning to him. The needle went flying an my dog freaked. My dog had a terrible reaction to the vaccine so I wanted to return all my prescriptions-$100- as he was not going to be able to handle them. I was told they are non refundable and they can do nothing for me. I spent nearly $300 to have them put my dog in severe pain and they will do NOTHING TO CORRECT IT!!!!!!! I. Am. Done. With. Them. Now I’m left to figure out how to nurse my poor dog back to health.

They are great people and professional and care for your pet. They care for your pet, and do not try to sell things you do not need. They suggest the options for pet care. My Greyguy cat was sick and they got him in right away today. Checked him out, gave the care I agreed for.

Cochranton Veterinary Hospital is behaving unethically and unprofessionally by refusing to release my dog's medical records. My dog's previous owner has tried several times to contact the hospital and request the records, but they have refused to release them. I can't call for the records because of HIPAA. This is illegal under Pennsylvania law from what I understand, and it is preventing me from getting my dog the best possible care. For example my vet cannot move forward with some treatments due to unverified vaccination record. My dog became quite ill and I had to take him to Butler emergency vet where the lack of records put us at a disadvantage of narrowing down the cause of his illness.

We moved into the area at the start of the pandemic shutdown but they were able to accommodate our needs for our dog Peavey.They are very friendly and knowledgeable. They always keep Peavey up to date on his vaccinations and yearly checkups. I highly recommend Cochranton Veterinary Hospital for loving care of your pets.

I highly recommend this place!!! I had to take my golden retriever, Jake, here to be put down. It was on a Saturday and my regular vet clinic was not opened, like most . My Jake woke up and started having , non stop, seizures!! I didn't want to take the long drive, to Erie, and have him suffering longer than he should. I came across this clinic, told them I wasn't a client but they still told me to bring Jake in, right away. When I arrived, I was a sobbing mess!!! The girls were very compassionate and caring!!! They even called me, a couple hours later, to see how I was, to give me their condolences and to reassure me I made the right decision!! These people never have seen Jake or myself but they treated me like I was a life long client!! I can not say enough great things about this business!! 5 stars is definitely not enough!! Thank you for all the love and support on such a horrible day!!!

Recently had them put my beloved cota down. they not only were very compassionate on the day, but they went above and beyond when it came to picking up her ashes. We were super surprised to find not only a beautiful box in which her ashes were in but also a plaster paw print of cota and some of her fur in a baggie. They are truly the best vets around.

The staff really do care about your pets.However, not being allowed to go in, or even see my pet during the visit, or talk to the veterinarian greatly bothers me. As soon as I can switch my pet to another vet I will, because who sends their child out of sight for medical care?

We are not impressed with this facility. Our dogs needed a follow-up appointment after a visit. My daughter and my dad took the dogs for the appointment. I was told it would be around $70. They did not do anything for a follow up from the first appointment and I was charged $170. Our 1 dog was limping on the way into the office. We asked them to look at his paw. They said nothing was wrong. We have a poor guy here who's paw is now bright red. We are going somewhere else.

I take my mom's dogs here for her and the staff has been very nice, always tells me what's going on or what they need to do and they are very good with her 2 yorkies. One of them is 17 years old, so you have to be extra loving and gentle with him, and they seem to be. I personally had a bad experience with one employee years back, I don't know if she still works there or not.I had taken my miniature dachshund there, he was just a puppy at the time, and she clipped his nails and cut one too short and he yipped and pulled his paw away from her. She then told me I needed to train him better and that he had poor manners, while ignoring the blood running out of his nail onto the table. I pointed out that she had caused him to bleed, which is why he behaved the way he did and she tried to minimize what she had done and just blame my puppy and my lack of training/attention. Even after putting the stuff on his nail to stop the bleeding, he continued to bleed. I was beyond angry at this point and changed vet care for not only Oliver, but also my 2nd mini dachshund, Willoughby. I never had a problem or complaint again regarding my dogs demeanor or how well they were trained.

Cochranton Vets have always done right by my beloved pets. Since the pandemic, I haven't met any of the veterinarians, only the techs. We park in the parking lot and call in. A tech comes out to retrieve my dog or cat and does all the communication between me and the veterinarian. There are no complaints at this point.

Brought my dog in this morning that had over twenty porcupine quills in his face and mouth. They got us right in and were so kind and helpful. My bill was reasonable too. They gave me two estimates (high and low) and luckily we wound up with the low one. I am very happy with the care we received!

I love the staff and the doctors at Cochranton Veterinary Hospital. The staff are all very kind and compassionate. I had to have one of my dogs put to sleep and they gave me time to say good bye to my girl and they spoke very kindly of my silly girl and what a good patient she had been. It was lovely that I didn't have to break my bank to relieve her suffering as well.All of my animals have been treated kindly and with respect and the doctors take the time to explain things and answer questions and treat me like I do have a brain and don't talk to me like I am an idiot. All this for a reasonable price !

I've been using this vet hospital for decades. Vets and Vet Techs are very friendly and helpful. The only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars, is I end up in an exam room with my dog for a very long time before he is seen. I would rather wait in the waiting room or outside until they are ready to see him. Of course, I should probably let them know that, up front.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about my first (but certainly not last) experience at Cochranton Veterinary Hospital. I found a very sweet stray dog near where I work who was obviously having almost an impossible time swallow due to something stuck in his mouth. I'm on a tight budget but couldn't leave the poor dog in that condition. I called around to several places and Cochranton was the only one who would see me same day. They were absolutely wonderful! I am on a tight budget and after initially checking him out, they gave me an incredibly reasonable estimate before they proceeded. I have had awful experiences in the past of being incredibly over-charged without warning and appreciated this soooo much. Honestly. It was one of the best vet experiences I have ever had both with my own animals as well as various rescues over the years. Because of them "yellow dog" was able to eat and drink like a normal dog this morning and looking 100% better than he was 48 hours ago. And I'm not in the poor house. I know where I will be taking my own dog from now on! Thank you so much to everyone who helped this poor sweet boy!!

I’ve been taking my pets to Cochranton Animal Hospital for nine years. After seven dogs and at least six cats, I can attest to the consistency of care, the proactiveness of veterinarians and staff who are always patient in taking time explaining diagnosis and recommendations for care. Everyone at Cochranton Veterinary Hospital is the best I could want for my pet family members.
