The crew at LaMancha has the support of vets from all over to help with drop off animals and pets. We had a wonderful experience adopting from them a few back and loved our dog until he passed away at ten years old.Give them your support financially or through adoption. They are a real and caring group

What amazing people working there. Alexis, Jeoff, Drew. And so many amazing volunteers who help take care of animals. I don’t like write the reviews, but this time I feel that I have to. At first I was reading negative comments about La Mancha where people complain about dogs to have hearth warms and kennel cough. I was shocked. How does peoples can take care of dogs ?! Why at first place they want a dog? They want a toy?! Dogs are like us. They can be sick also and so what, We adopted from La Mancha Mika , and , yes, she had pneumonia. We took care of her gladly and we are not rich people. You adopt the dog to take care of him or her as of your own family. If you can’t assume this responsibility , please don’t even think to adopt. La Mancha is doing what they can. They rescue animals from other states in horrible conditions for save they lives . What do we do? Nothing. We failed, La Mancha - not. ( Mika and Sacha on the pics. I had two awesome experiences adopting from Lamancha animal rescue. 6 years ago we adopted a husky. Her temperament was exactly as described. The staff at Lamancha facilitated a meet and greet with our existing 3 dogs and the adoption process was easy. The husky has done fabulous and we love her. Recently we lost another of our dogs suddenly. With a big hole in our hearts, we looked up dogs available at lamancha. We spotted a German shepherd mix with a description that made us think - yes, he is the one. We brought our dogs over to meet and greet and the expertise in that space was excellent. Again the adoption process was smooth and our new family member is thriving. It was clear he received a lot of love and great care at lamancha as he awaited us. Definitely recommend!

We adopted our newest addition, Maggie from Lamancha last week so this review is based on my personal experience with them. I am going to be completely honest about the entire adoption process. Like everyone else, I was very skeptical of this place after reading some of the reviews, but I'm soo happy I decided to give them a chance. I'll first start out by saying they absolutely do check on your application. Our landlord confirmed he received a call from them asking if it was okay to have dogs at our place. They also checked in with our vet to confirm our current dog was up to date on everything. That effort right there gave me a better feeling about Lamancha. Just knowing they care enough to check on those things before allowing us to meet their dogs. We were in communication with Alexis the entire time via email and she provided us with all of their information/ policies so we did not show up unprepared. When we got there, she brought us the dog we inquired about and allowed us to take her for a walk and spend time with her alone. This gave us a chance to make a connection with her and see if she was the right fit for us. We then went with Debbie and our current dog to a fenced in area so the two dogs could meet. Debbie was very friendly and helpful and told us all about the rescue and all the great things they do. We never felt pressure to adopt a dog and they gave us plenty of time to spend with her. Its clear they want their dogs to go to a good home. I brought up a small concern with Alexis about Maggie having what seemed like a light cough. She ensured us she was just on antibiotics from her spay so everything should be okay. Kennel cough is very common among dogs in shelters/common areas as the vaccine is not required, only recommended and it only takes a round of antibiotics to fix. Alexis never treated us differently when we voiced concern about it and put in effort to check her records and make sure everything was good. We can also confirm she was spayed while at the rescue because her stitches were still in. We left with our new dog, Maggie, who is the sweetest pup, good with kids and other dogs just like they stated on her profile online. Alexis emailed us the next day with our first family picture they took of us and to check how the first night went with our new doggy. We rescued our other dog from the SPCA last year, and they never once reached out to see how things were going nor did they do any type of veterinary check or home verification on us. When we took Maggie to the vet yesterday, they stated she was in perfect health and one of the sweetest dogs they've ever seen. We really lucked out. Lamancha cares about their animals and they proved that to us. I am so excited to write this review of our experience because I have nothing but great things to say about them. Please give them a chance. You will not be disappointed!!

We’ve adopted all of our dogs from LaMancha Animal Rescue. Repeat customers you might say:) The reason we keep going back is the care for their animals that is so evident. You can see that everyone from the owner to the volunteers cares so deeply for the dogs and cats (and cows and emus and and..) and how ecstatic they are when one of these animals finds a home. Many volunteers have been there for years and years! The rescue doesn’t shy away from taking on hard cases and investing extra time and effort into ensuring they have a shot at happily ever after. I’ll always adopt from LaMancha and I recommend this rescue to all my friends. Thank you LaMancha for all of my babies

Couldn't be happier with LaMancha and their staff. They truly care for the animals there and have their best interests at heart. The volunteers work hard at helping some truly heartbreaking cases become adoptable, loved animals. We rescued both of our dogs from LaMancha over the last two years. Best decision we ever made! Highly recommend. Thanks to Alexis and Maria specifically with helping us our latest adoption. We are blessed!

You won't be tilting at windmills if you decide to adopt a rescue pet from LaMancha Animal Rescue. I had applied at other rescues, but other than an automated reply I did not receive any follow ups. Applied at LaMancha and two days later I received a real email that my application had been approved, three days after that I am writing my review. We have been heart struck by our little Daisy. We have adopted many rescues and our experience with LaMancha was beyond my expectations. Such a beautiful and scenic environment. The volunteers were helpful and gracious. I know where I will go first when our next adoption occurs.

My wife and I adopted our amazing dog Archie from here a few weeks ago and everything has been amazing. Archie has been everything promised and more. When we took him to the vet everything was as promised as well. The process for adopting Archie was relatively simple and we were allowed to come home with Archie the day we met him.

I had donations, but I didn’t make an appointment which I found out is necessary when we arrived. I love the fact that not just anyone can show up and adopt an animal, like the Cat Angel Network the animals seem very protected which is a great sign, these rescue animals need loving homes not just any home will do. Lamancha seems well aware of this which is awesome!

About a year ago, I was ready for my first dog. I looked for a dog that needed me. I wanted a rescue whose focus was to serve the dogs' best interest and find the right human for them. I found that in La Mancha. The volunteers there helped me find my perfect dog Blaze, even if he was a diamond in the rough. That's what they do, find the diamonds where sometimes people don't see it. Thank you La Mancha for giving my boy a chance!

Dru and the staff at Lamancha have been absolutely amazing! For 2 years, I had been feeding a (mostly feral, ear tipped) kitty at my office and was just recently told by management that they would no longer permit this; as kitty appeared to be older and had been used to having a reliable food source, the fear was she might starve if left there. I contacted Lamancha and they agreed to accept kitty! Within 24 hours they had her seen by their vet, vaccinated, and cleaned up and are now nursing her back to health. As the option to let her remain where she had been was deemed not viable, Lamancha has offered kitty a safe home and the professional care she had been missing as a feral; they habe truly saved her life. Dru has been very generous in providing me updates re kitty's progress. In addition to their wonderful care, Lamancha is situated as a beautiful farm setting, providing sanctuary to many horses, chickens, dogs, kitties, and more. Lamancha has earned my highest recommendation!See photo of kitty before rescue.

*apologies in advanced, as this is longer than I anticipated! My fiancé and I saw puppies that were rescued from Kentucky on PetFinder, and fell in love INSTANTLY. The application for adoption was extremely impressive: their response time was beyond efficient, and we were ecstatic that our application was approved so quickly. When we had our meeting with the puppies, Foster parent, and LaMancha Coordinator, we were in awe of LaMancha’s campus- it was so picturesque and everyone was incredibly friendly. To say we were overjoyed to add this little guy to our family is truly an understatement. When we brought our puppy home, we noticed he was scratching himself frequently and for long increments of time. We emailed the Coordinator and Foster to provide a little update (including this info), and their reply stated the puppies had fleas, and received 5 Dawn baths so it probably dried out his skin. I was a little frustrated we weren’t initially told this, but was appreciative he was cared for previously and were determined to make him more comfortable. As instructed by LaMancha and our Vet, we dropped off his stool sample to be tested and went into the weekend without too much worry. Sunday night he was scratching like never before, crying, and scooting his bottom all over the floor. When our puppy passed his next stool, we found it covered in worms. We sprung into action- I cleaned our home, furniture, and blankets all night long, and my fiancé called the emergency vet to clarify we were doing everything we could for our puppy. Our Vet provided us the next round of dewormer and we continued monitoring him all through the next day. I emailed the Coordinator and Foster again, providing this next update: that way they were fully aware, and could act accordingly for the other puppies from the litter. They replied similarly to the first update, saying he had worms when they first got the puppies and that worms are very common. If you’re planning to adopt from LaMancha, my advice to you would be to ask as many questions as you can. Even though my fiancé and I feel we asked the right questions, we unfortunately were not told everything we should have known at adoption. Our paperwork reflected the vaccines our pup received thus far and while that was helpful, we were not told about his history with the fleas and worms. If we would have known his complete health history at adoption, we could have provided our Vet with the most accurate information and completed our own research to ensure our puppy’s overall health and comfort. I wouldn’t have had our puppy cuddle in our bed so quickly and maybe would have prevented my fiancé also getting sick. I would have researched the most appropriate diet for a puppy going through these things and confined our pup to certain areas of the house to prevent further spread.I can tell the people affiliated with LaMancha love these animals, and are determined to find good homes for each one. I am so thankful for them bringing us to our little guy, and wouldn’t trade him for anything. I do feel our puppy’s health history wasn’t accurately provided, and that is a little frustrating to be honest. To summarize my review, I found LaMancha’s response time to be impeccable, and their entire staff was truly welcoming and kind. LaMancha could do a better job at being more thorough with health history information, especially since we all want the absolute best for our furry family members. Overall, 3/5 stars because despite a difficult first week, we found this angel!

We adopted Molly(previously Maui) from La Mancha a couple of months ago. She has been the perfect addition to our home! Thank you for being a loving and caring group of animal lovers. We can’t say enough great things about the space that you created to care for animals in need. Thank you!!

I have 2 furbabies courtesy of LaMancha. LaMancha is a wonderful rescue. They are diligent about the placements without making the applicant feel unworthy to be an adopter. They take wonderful care of the rescues. I can’t say enough good things and when the time comes I will feel welcome to go back to adopt again.

I cannot adequately express how incredible LaMancha Animal Rescue is. Their farm in Coatesville, PA is simply stunning - STUNNING I tell you! The setting and energy is exactly what I imagine when I think of a sanctuary and safe haven for animals. They have horses, ducks, an Ostrich (maybe more than one), doggos, cats and their human staff is beyond wonderful. Thank you, Alexis, for choosing us out of the many other people who wanted this little angel. We will give her a great life. I promise.

I have adopted three dogs over the years from La Mancha, I can not say enough what a positive life changing experience this has been. Our first dog was a darling little terrier mix who came up from a high kill shelter from the South. We currently have a little mix breed and a GSD all adopted from La Mancha. All of our visitors comment on how well behaved and healthy they all are. I will definitely return to adopt another dog in the future! Several of my coworkers have also adopted through La Mancha and are THRILLED with their new furry family members.

It's a shame Lamancha takes advantage of people wanting to do the right thing. The horrible experience we've had has soured us on ever trying to adopt another dog from a rescue. Stay far away unless you have $1,000s to spend or enjoy heartbreak. Also, heartworms is NOT some "Big Vet" conspiracy, no matter what Alexis thinks.

What an absolutely wonderful facility, organization, and group of people. We came up LaMancha the day after Christmas to visit with some dogs (spoilers, we adopted one!). Nancy was very helpful in facilitating things, bring a dog out of the kennel to meet us in a fenced in area. We were then able to take the dogs on a walk around a beautiful pasture alongside a wood. After we chose to adopt our dog, she was microchipped and paperwork was filled out while my daughter and I visited with some horses that also are on site (and I think also available for adoption?). It was an absolutely beautiful morning and I'm so thankful for the experience!

So quite a long time ago my wife and I lived in west chester. I wanted a pup bad but my lovely bride wasn't let's say thrilled. I found Lamancha of course not far from us and contacted them. We found our puppy Ginger. She was so cute. Of course we had her for over 14 years and she was a tank. Now we are pretty much neighbors with Lamancha and support them always.Mark Williams

My husband and I adopted a beautiful and sweet cocker spaniel through another rescue. He proved to be too much for us to care for as we are elderly and it broke my heart but we had to give him up for adoption. Lamancha Animal Rescue took him in and found him a loving home in just a few days. Even though I live several states away, Dru was so wonderful to communicate with me, keep me informed about how he was doing, and let me know when he was adopted. She was even quick to respond when I emailed and asked for an update about how he was doing in his new home. She told me he is settling in well and even sent a pic of him with his new sister. My little chocolate cocker spaniel will always have a piece of my heart and I miss him terribly! BUT it is so wonderful to know he is loved, happy and well in his new home thanks to Lamancha!

After losing our 3 senior girls in a 7 week period, my wife and I were heartbroken. A close friend recommended LaMancha to us, where she had rescued her amazing dog years before. We submitted an application, and by the next day we had a response and were approved (the approval process included a vet reference, and our vet confirmed LaMancha had reached out to inquire about us). We went to see a pup that was listed on LaMancha's website; when we arrived there was another litter of 8 week old puppies that had not yet been listed...and we instantly fell in love with this sweet girl, who we named Lucy (she is now 5 months old). The adoption went smoothly, and everyone we spoke to was kind and helpful, especially Alexis. As LaMancha's adoption agreement acknowledges, worms and respiratory issues are common and can slip by unnoticed despite the rescue's best attempts to treat/prevent. When we learned from our initial vet visit that Lucy had worms and kennel cough, we emailed Alexis to let her know; she immediately responded, thanked us, and informed us that treatment was going to be provided to Lucy's littermates and mama dog.My wife and I would recommend (and have recommended LaMancha) to anyone. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained, the animals well cared for, and the staff and volunteers were all lovely. To anyone reading through the reviews, I hope you take the negative ones with a grain of salt.Thank you, LaMancha, for the work you do for our furry friends who cannot speak, and thank you for gifting us with our sweet, furry angel.

I adopted “Chance” from LaMancha Animal Rescue in 2006. He is a giant Belgian (18.3 hands) and despite being rescued from an abuse situation, is an absolutely amazing horse. He has the most gentle and kind soul. I am forever grateful for LaMancha for saving him from the slaughterhouse. Their compassion for all creatures is obvious. I had a wonderful experience in my dealings with Dru.I was a vet tech for 26 years and when I read any negative feedback about this rescue I write it off to a lack of understanding all that is involved in the fantastic care each and every animal receives while in their care. It’s a lot of hard work!!I’m so happy to see this rescue thriving after the 15 years that have flown by!I wish I lived closer so I could volunteer. We transported Chance all the way from Pennsylvania to Michigan and it was worth every mile. Their hard work and big hearts saving this beautiful animal has enriched many lives. Thanks to everyone there working so hard for all of these animals. You are truly angles.

I learned about Lamancha when I moved to Coatesville in 2003. Since then, I have adopted 4 absolutely fantastic dogs from them. My most recent adoption was January 19 of a 1 year old Great Pyr. from Louisiana. (Bama was his name. Now Ghost) He was a perfect fit with my current 2 dogs and 3 cats. I cannot be happier with all of my experiences with the staff at Lamancha.

Best experience with an animal rescue to date! All volunteers seemed so invested and really knew the animals. We orginally went for a different dog, but then the volunteers suggested we meet Leroy. He has since passed, but he was the absolute best addition to our family. We miss him greatly.

My husband and I recently rescued a dog from Lamancha and had a great experience. We also applied to other rescues at the same time and Lamanchas response time to our application was very prompt. From there the rest of our adoption process was great and pretty easy. We met Archie on a Saturday and had him home that afternoon. We took him to the vet a few days later and he was given a clean bill of health as reported by the rescue! We are very happy with our experience with Lamancha and look forward to supporting them in the future!

What an amazing place. We recently rescued a sweet Pyrenees/Lab mix named Lily and she's been great. The farm and the people are amazing, you can tell they're very passionate about what they do and they're invested in all their animals. I'm hoping to come back as a volunteer when the weather gets warmer.
