What an amazing place to visit and stay! I can't say enough good things about the level of hospitality and care the employees put into making sure you have a pleasant stay here. Everyone is so accommodating and friendly, and they work so hard to make your stay special. We stayed in Miss Melanie's room, which was immaculately clean, quiet, and had beautiful views. When we arrived, we were immediately welcomed and given a quick tour of where to eat breakfast and dinner, and of some of the amenities (billiards, lounge). We were escorted to our room where we found a tray with goodies, including champagne and a personalized sugar cookie (so sweet)! We ate dinner both nights at Stonewall's, which were two of the best meals I've ever eaten. Our steaks were tender and cooked to perfection, and the sides were made with homemade ingredients, yum! The inn is tastefully decorated to match the era in which it was built, and filled with unique antiques and items of interest. We will definitely be back when in the area! Thank you all for making us feel at home and pampered!

Tara - A Country Inn was recommended to us & was a spur of the moment trip. We are so glad we went! The mansion is beautiful with period decor and a Gone With The Wind theme. The Stonewall Tavern was part of the underground railroad. Stay for dinner and you may be lucky enough to sit right where the stairwell used to be. Betsy is a wealth of information in regard to the history of the home. Go to the lounge for after dinner drinks! Terry is a great bartender & can make anything you're looking for. Relax in any of the sitting rooms by the fireplace & read a book or have tea. Overnight guests are invited to have breakfast in the morning. It is delicious & filling. We had a great time!

What a fabulous reminder of Southern hospitality and charm, reminisce of the beauty of days gone by. The Inn keeps it special with each room having its own theme, the afternoon tea, the evening cocktail hour (the spiked punch is addictive!), and the morning breakfast in beautifully decorated rooms. The whole house has been named appropriately as it focuses on the many pieces the owners obtained over the years from the movie Gone with the Wind. While the wife decorated the house, the husband got his chance outside, with the beautiful gardens, but also the a massive collection of Remington sculptures throughout the yard. The food at Stonewalls tavern was fabulous. A super cozy atmosphere, but big enough for a family dinner or an intimate dinner for two.

This place was so amazing, warm, and inviting. This Inn is based on the Gone with the Wind movie. It houses 3 different places to eat and various rooms to stay in.When we got there we were greeted very warmly and took on a tour to get the layout. Was informed about Tea time, cocktail hour, and breakfast and brunch locations.Every room is inspired by either a character or a quote from the movie, rooms that were not occupied were left with door open to view the beautiful states of the rooms. The food and atmosphere are both amazing as well. Delivering way more than expected.

Tara hosted the Shenango Valley Chorale's Madrigal Feast in its Stonewall Tavern. It was a very nice evening in total. But the whole was better than the sum of the parts. The chorale was excellent in spite of pretty terrible acoustics. They were having fun and got the crowd involved to share the good time. The meal featured beef, chicken and fish as well as two sides, soup and dessert. The food was served family style at each table which was fun but awkward at times.Tara the Inn is pretty spectacular. A ton of Gone With the Wing memorabilia is everywhere. But they also have a great collection of Frederick Remington's bronzes. There is lot of stained glass as well. I wouldn't mind staying at the Inn sometime. We had a very nice evening.

I am a huge fan of Gone With the Wind. It has been many years since my husband (who I called my Rhett Butler) surprised me with a birthday dinner at Stonewall's Tavern. I immediately fell in love with Tara and that is where we celebrated several anniversaries. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. The last room we stayed in was Rhett's room and it was my favorite. My husband passed away almost 15 years ago. I have always wanted to stay one more night at Tara to honor his memory. I have not been able to do that for various reasons but I still keep it on my bucket list. I wish I lived closer so I could fulfill that wish.Rooms: I loved every room we stayed in but my favorite was Rhett's room.Food & drinks: Food was delicious both in the dining room, the Tavern, and at breakfast.Noteworthy details: To see the actual costume that Vivian Leigh wore in the movie was astounding! I never realized how tiny she was.

I absolutely loved this visit, and we look forward to our next visit. From service to hospitality and food, everything was wonderful. The only sad thing is not much to do in the area, but the Inn tries everything to keep you busy.Rooms: Our room was so beautifully decorated

My dream is to stay here one day. But for now, I roam the beautiful gardens like a ghost and admire the historical significance of this grand estate.

My experience with the Tara will be good. They have nice outside atmosphere, the walking trail was nice peaceful. We had my sister wedding there, the outside ceremony was very beautiful. The reception was outside too underneath the tent. Our food it taste like frozen food, the meat was not cook very well. They order prime rib and I don't like it it was not cook properly. My mom complain to the chef , the chef slam the door on her face, rude! It was under staff, they drag another table to the dinner. They know that it was a wedding coming up soon, they should hire more help. There was no bartender, two of my cousins was the bartender to serve the guests. There was no space for flowers arrangements, we use their dining room to arrange flowers. They had no space for nothing. They was no communication within the coordinator and staff.

Stayed there this past weekend the place is beautiful! The staff is wonderful and very pleasant. My overall experience was fantastic with one exception. Though the food was amazing everything was just warm. From my dinner to the brunch. I like my food hot. Everything seemed like it came out of the kitchen after sitting there for a while and cooling off. I had the rib dinner and those was barely warm. I felt like asking them to take them back and nuke them but I didn't. I did try some of the made to order scrambled eggs at the brunch and maybe it is just me but they tested kind of like powdered eggs. With that said I would absolutely go again but I would ask up front to make sure my meals where hot when they arrived.

I haven’t been inside Tara since the early 1990’s so decided to pop in while in the area. The actual building has held up well and the grounds were nice. It’s tastefully decorated. The indoor pool is not as nice as I remember it and that area of the building smells a bit moldy. Some of the hotel rooms were open to peek in and they looked nice. It’s kind of weird to have such an intentional Antebellum themed place north of the Mason Dixon line. I get it’s themed after Gone with the Wind but it feels like it’s glorifying the Confederacy. Which 27,000 Pennsylvanians gave their life to defeat. The Confederate artifacts alongside with absolutely no acknowledgement of slavery, and a room named after Jefferson Davis, kind of misses the mark.

To expensive for Sunday brunchPrices need to realist for a family outingMaybe for only on a special occasion but not just for day out.If prices were lower this would be more of a place I would support due to it being close but it is of non interest to me due to prices.I do enjoy walking outside and seeing the statues. I take the kids for walks here and show them the live swan.Outside grounds are beautiful to visit when you visit the lake but go eat somewhere else.

Tara is perfect place for a couples get away. The rooms are comfortable and homey; with a fireplace and jacuzzi, and the spa is a wonderful addition to any evening plans. However the one thing that must be reviewed with 5 stars would be the staff. I don’t remember ever meeting a nicer, more respectful staff. Any request my wife and I made was met with a smile on their face. They are so friendly that it felt like they were simply people living there. And as a history buff, being immersed in an 1850s style mansion kept me entertained our whole stay. With artifacts from the civil war, to gone with the wind decor; my wife and I were very happy with spending time exploring the mansion to take in the history. We plan on visiting again, and would recommend Tara to anyone considering a stay.

This place is so awesome. Made to resemble Tara from Gone with the Wind (though maybe the movie people saw it and made their set to look like it). We go there for the amazing Sunday brunch. The food is delicious and the staff is the best. Hostess Becky & waitress Grace even remembered us from being there before. The rooms in the Hotel are each different so you can chose your favorites. We just live wandering around after we finish brunch. We’ll be back soon.
