Our first grooming appointment was excellent as was the groomer. We could not even check in for our second appointment because the BIG blond was obnoxious, rude and condescending. We left and will not be back. West Chester didn’t need a Petsmart but we only made the appointment because of a grooming discount. There are many and much better small businesses in West Chester to support than this chain. Sorry to the groomer who lost out on a tip because of their BIG blond coworker.

I recently had a disappointing experience at PetSmart grooming that left me questioning their professionalism and customer service standards. Firstly, the groomer was 15 minutes late to the appointment, which is already an inconvenience. Secondly, the individual checking in my dog displayed a shocking lack of tact and knowledge. She seemed to imply expertise in dog DNA, only rudely disputing my dog's breed, scoffing and rolling their eyes, because his color did not match that of the breed in her eyes. As if that wasn't enough, they refused to groom my dog because his name didn't perfectly match his vaccination card, insisting I get new paperwork from my vet. He is a 10 month old puppy and his vaccination card was from the breeder. I’m sure no one changes the name of their puppy after they get them….While I understand policies, there's no excuse for the condescending attitude and lack of empathy towards customers. After over 20 years in retail management, I know that policies can be enforced without belittling patrons. Needless to say, I won't be returning to PetSmart grooming anytime soon.

I rent nearby and it's nice to have a PetSmart in this part of town. Unfortunately it will probably put Pet Supplies Plus out of business. That said, because it's brand new store, it's nice and clean and everything's neat. PetSmart employees are pretty good at keeping the store that way though.
