Im on the fence with my review, most the staff is super nice and I like that, but the store is a mess. Literally everyday all day a mess. dirty products everywhere. I hate touching certain things cause I feel like I am going to catch something. They need to close for a few days and get the store together it needs to be fully disenfected cleaned and restocked

I like this Dollar General Store. The store is clean and very well lit. And It's the only Dollar General on the west side of Chester. The staff is friendly and funny. The store is always full of many items and products to choose from from a dollar up. They have a red box DVD rental machine in the front of the store. They also sell ice they have that in the front of the store on the outside. There's plenty of parking space and there is also handicap parking spaces that are close to the door and it is accessible to disabled people with wheelchairs. That store is always busy but the shelves are never really empty because they're always restocking the shelves because the items go so fast. But overall I give the workers at a for that effort because customer service isn't always is an easy job to do it it

Update: May 2023 -ISSUE HAS BEEN FIXED. THEY ARE NOW ACCEPTING VISA/DEBIT CARDS AGAIN!Update: MAY 2023 - NOW ONLY ACCEPTING CASH!!!!!!!Well, this has Gone downhill like everything else in the city. Seems like no one cares enough to keep our city thriving. This store now has been accepting only cash for the last MONTH. Mind you, just throw a sign on the front glass to let customers know but it's most likely being hidden due to the fact that it's been over a month now. I wonder if corporate even cares. Seems as though it won't be getting fixed anytime soon. Now why hasn't this issue been fixed? AND STILL CLUTTERED and never stocked. Ughhh I'm so over this store.Original review- 3 years agoNice location. Only Dollar General there. But I don't understand why the store is always a mess. Like why are there always boxes in the aisles ALL THE TIME? Go look. You will see what I'm talking about. My biggest concern is the cleanliness.

This place is disgusting ever since that new lady took over this place has went down hill she is always smelling like she came straight from the bar.. She is always outside smoking weed she is very nasty towards the customers and the employees i never even see her working she is either out side or on her phone.. I was a regular customer but i will never shop here again sad to say

Store is only accepting cash no card for a long time now, disorganized and dirty, and they ain’t do nothing to fix the situation. Worse dollar store to come to. Don’t waist your time.

Almost every time I come here products are not even done being stocked… they just leave the stuff in the middle of the aisles and it’s hard to move and walk through. Do better…

It was my first time there. The young lady was pleasantBut I did not like that she asked me to put back the basket. And whole entire store was clutter. Very clutter. The store was speaking to some one else and said $9.00 is not enough for her to make space. She is going to formman mills to work. Ghetto fabulous. I am not going there again. Frist impressions are so TRUE. I only choose one star. Because it would not let me post.

The cashiers are friendly and very helpful when needed, the store is immaculate and have well stocked shelves. The store manager is a real BOSS, with hands on assistance, a friendly, outgoing and professional demeanor. I am glad Dollar General is located in this easy to access area.

Has a fair amount of items and seems to be mostly stocked up since its opening. It's great addition next store to a school! Can pop in quickly to grab something for the classroom!

It was the first time in a while stopping here. The store was crowded with merchandise and yet had many empty shelves . The service was very good ,polite and quick . I would stop back in again . The low rating is because of the cluster everything seemed to be and the difficulty in locating what I needed .

This place is awesome I love to do my shopping in the evening the vibe is very nice even tho it can be a bit busy at times but the music totally makes up for it. it surprised me I have heard songs from Chris brown Green Day lil Wayne Kendrick Beyoncé future, Even throw backs of songs I grew up too and the songs are clean without all the bad words so that's nice. I get to dancing through the isles while I shop lol. The store is clean and the employees are nice and well mannered. When I go in there's usually this tall brown skin handsome young man wit a beautiful smile working the cash register, he's very helpful if you need help finding anything and always has a nice aroma to him. overall I have to say this is a great store and the best dollar Store in the area. It's so many dollar stores around us I know I'm not the only one that notices this..(keep up the good work please if anyone who works at this store can see this and keep your employees they are so helpful and nice and they are always busy I respect them for having to put up wit so many bad attitudes I see come in there)

Good store but baaaad area. If you need cheap odds amd ands its good but just be sure to bring a good quality bullet proof vest and you'll be fine. A snickers bar with a side of lead and a free ride to the hospital on a good quality ambulance.

Love the service. The gentleman who works there, especially in the morning, is superb. He is always polite, courteous, and gregarious. He greets me every time I walk in the door. The younger gentleman that worked on the same date was courteous, also. The only complaint is they are frequently sold out of the items I am looking for. This is the best Dollar General, especially when compared to the DG off Naaman's Rd in Delaware. That is the rudest DG.

Lack of customer service and un stoy/cked shelves as the 2 employees stood around having random conversations never was i asked do i need help finding what i needed and i just had to take sanitizer off the cart myself because none were on the shelves.

I like dollar general, but I don't appreciate the fact that the website says it closes at ten o'clock, but when I went into the store at nine o'clock they informed me that I only had a minute left to shop. When I asked the associate if he knew the website says they close at ten o'clock and he said yes but they closing at nine o'clock. There also was no time schedule posted on either doors or windows

I am always greeted when entering and leaving the Highland Ave store in Chester, PA. The current manager is courteous, friendly and helpful. The previous manager has serious issues.

I have been to bad dollar generals before, but this place was really bad! Trash every were, unopened stock boxes all over the place, and you couldn't even go in some of the isles because of unopened boxes and trash. It was really bad!!
