We rescued Smoke or actually, he rescued us šŸ˜€. We adopted him Christmas 2023, He was 11 months old and had been at two other homes prior and brought back after a short time at each.3rd time was the charm and we adopted him then next day after he was returned, we were very lucky that it worked out. He is a smart and incredible Labradane with a great personality.Weā€™ve had him for four months and heā€™s quickly growing out of his puppy/teenager behaviors. Over the three months heā€™s been to multiple training classes and is very eager to learn and becoming very well-behaved, mastering many commands. We couldnā€™t have asked for a better member to join our family and want to thank mainline animal rescue for all the work that they do.Iā€™ve attached a couple pictures but could not figure out how to upload a short video so the following is a YouTube link for Smokey. We think thereā€™s a few pictures of Smokey on the main page when he was a puppy being raised at the rescue.https://youtu.be/kWDBYHSdhlc?si=Vj7lCgM0zjefdkzt

Had to surrender 2 dogs under tough circumstances that I was extremely worried about them not taking. One of the dogs was 14 and the other was 7 but had a history of not being great around other dogs. The staff was extremely nice, understanding and sympathetic to my situation. Itā€™s a huge farm like area with tons of space. I canā€™t say it enough that the staff was amazing especially Stacy.

I got a kitten from here for $187 and I really didnā€™t like how they didnā€™t give me medicine for my kitten since they know he was exposed to Feline Virus and my kitten was suffering I had to pay extra $230 to take care of the little animal because they didnā€™t care to give me medicine for him. They told me to pick up medicine after 4 days. While I was trying to reach them constantly playing phone tag. Also they donā€™t have records for the kittens having leukemia or aids so be careful when you are getting an animal because if they have those diseases your wasting your money and your time as well. Especially if your a first time pet owner do some research especially before you buy anything from this place.

Our experience with MLAR was outstanding! Having just lost our last dog of many years, we approached the process not being sure we were ready. We first found Dex on the website and reached out with questions. Matt responded quickly and repeatedly to every question and shared some video of Dex playing. Matt was upfront about a few behaviors, but felt with some training and patience, those could be worked out.We went through the application process and set up a time to meet Dex. We did have some concerns because he is a little over 2 years old, was on the street for a while and had been in a couple of different homes, so we thought there may be some issues.Tricia took us to meet Dex and we had a chance to spend a lot of time with him in a large fenced in area. That was all it took to know he was the one! We completed the process, were given his complete medical records, food and the toys he'd been attached to to make the transition easier. We cannot say enough good things about the experience, the staff, volunteers and all who make this place go. It is truly amazing to see how they are able to help so many animals. It's been about 6 weeks and we can't imagine life without Dex! He is the sweetest boy and we are so glad to welcome him into our family and his forever home!

Filled out 4 applications for various rescues and only Main Line responded. They were quick to call me, get my vet references and schedule a meeting for my future pooch šŸ˜The facility is beautiful and on a farm. They have an on site vet office, admin office and separate building for the kennels. They have trails to walk the dogs on and a decent sized dog park where you can run and play with your new potential family member. The counselors are informative and answered all our questions. They came out to do a fence check the following weekend and brought the dog with them. They are amazing and don't have adoption fees just ask that you make a donation of about $250 to cover expenses. A far cry from some other places I saw with fees ranging from $300-$600!A great experience and super happy we have our beautiful Sheila now because of them!

MLAR was very thorough through the whole adoption process; from the application to the day of the adoption. Jennifer was extremely helpful in answering all of my questions throughout all of the steps. The facility is absolutely amazing. Their rescued pooches truly have it made there. It was very obvious that the animals in the shelter were well taken care of and well loved. Willow, our new dog, has adjusted well to her sister dog, Roxie. We already feel like we don't know what we'd do without her. Thank you for bringing new life to our home. ~Deona

Our cat was abducted by an employee of the rescue who happens to live in the apartments behind our neighborhood. We discovered who had him and contacted her. It took numerous messages until she shared that she works for the rescue. The apartment staff are aware of who the cat belongs to as he was picked up by the maintenance staff there a few months ago and when we went to claim him we were threatened by the maintenance man that if he saw him again we wouldnt get him back. This person posted signs in the apartment area but not on our street behind them. He was taken to the rescue...renamed Carlsen...revaccinated making that twice in less than 7 months...chipped...covered with fleas and he had lost a considerable amount of weight. He was abandoned months ago in the apartments when we took him in and had him neutered and vaccinated. He gets out and keeps going back there to probably look for the the family that left him behind. We were charged $75 to get him back. He was back at home for about a week when all of a sudden he comes home after venturing around with our other male cat with a note tied to his collar with twine. The note never made it back with him as it was mostly torn off by his travels through damp shrubs. Last night his collar had been removed. Its getting quite creepy to have our cat stalked. We have hundreds of stray cats around us that need homes. We look out for them too, as well as our neighborhood wildlife. The cats in our area keep the rodents at bay. Our neighbors love our cats and are very grateful for them. Both of us grew up on large farms and we seriously have never had such issues with pet ownership until taking Oliver in. So if anyone else encounters him in our area...he is not in need of rescuing or abducting.

From the first step we ever experienced with MLAR we have felt like a part of their family. We do not have what "fits the bill" with what used to be considered a good candidate for rescue adoption, however the amazing people at MLAR looked past the paper and saw us. Two people who had alot of caring and love to give, just in need of the right four-legged outlet to give it to. So we met Jen, and she got to know us, not our house or our experience. Jen worked with us and who we thougth might be a good fit, and not only matched us perfectly, but showed us 5 others who might be match. After a few visits and meets with Korbin,(soon to be Reny), and the match was made. Jen made sure to not just conduct a home visit herself, but made sure Korbin liked the house too. Korbin came to us full of energy, love and some important needs. And so Korbin became Reny. Reny needed lots of work with separation issues, and even when we were nervous that we had taken on a job we couldn't handle, Jen and MLAR never left our side. Jen coached us, helped us, and had the staff reach-out and assist us in working ALL of us through the fight to make our amazing boy happy and healthy. Reny went from hard times, to living the good life thanks to MLAR.If you get anything form this review let it be this. What ever you may have heard or thought about MLAR before. Know this; they look at you as a person, the animal as a life, and look to match those two in perfect harmony. If you go to MLAR you will be treated as a new member of an ever growing family, and they will always be there for you.Signed,Pete and Lauren.Pawed,Reny

One of the best experiences of my life. I've never seen a facility run as well as this one, simply amazing job these folks do. My yearly charitable donations are going to Main Line Animal Rescue for the care they give these dogs/cats is truly astounding.

Beautiful animal rescue. Staff and volunteers are committed to animal welfare. They rescue animals from overcrowded shelters and animals with medical problems. Truly a heartwarming experience.

Beautiful facility, very helpful dedicated staff. Adopted a kitten from them. They gave recommendations for a better fit and are checking on well being of an adopted animal, which shows their dedication and love for animals. Thank you so much for your hard work!

Upon arrival you are forced to sit/ stand outside Fill out a paper application then a volunteer advises you to search on the website to pick out The animals you are interested in seeing. The listing for the animal has no major details house broken good with kids good with other animalsExtremely skittish receive none of that information until a staff member reviews your list comes out and talks to youBecause you're not allowed inside the buildings at allThey claim it's a safety hazard and not designed for public access. Stopped at 3 different facilities this facility was not worth the weight or time in 90Ā° weather just to find out all their animals are not suitable for family with children Very dissatisfied they should provide tablets to search the animals and get with the new century I hope when the ASPCA fully takes them over they improve their facility and adoption means As well as viewing the animals.

Just rescued Artie and had a fantastic experience. We saw him online and loved him and completed an application online. People need to understand that while the adoption process may seem frustrating it is with good reason. They want to make sure the dog and the owners will be compatible and happyWe met Artie and walked him and went in a large enclosure to interact with him and knew we wanted himCompleted paperwork and walked us through everything and even gave us the food he was onGreat place with great dogs and a loving and caring staff

Thank you Mainline Rescue. We got a precious 9-10 year old Shih. mix from you on July 1st,2022. Over many years, we've had several dogs, but our precious rescue dog that we adopted from Mainline Rescue, in Chester Springs PA is by far the best dog we've ever had. We love him so much. He settled in to our home with no problem. It's like he knew from day 1, this is forever home.

Very unprofessional and unpleasant staff/volunteers. I called in advance before driving there and they failed to mention that an appointment is required to even look at their adoptees. Once I arrived, I was told no one was there for pet adoption even though at least 15 volunteers were walking around. I was also met with a very condescending and demeaning attitude for absolutely no reason. I would never recommend this organization to anyone. Given how they treated me, I would hate to find out how they treat their animals.

A few years ago my son need a home for his "puppy" he failed to mention this puppy was a Great Dane and Black Lab Mix. He was huge and some health issues my son nor I could afford to handle. After careful consideration I went to MLAR and I wasn't treated like a horrible person for having to give up my son's dog. They were understanding, caring and non judgemental. They were even comforting as I cried. They fixed all that was going on with him and found him a great home within a month! I highly recommend MLAR for adoption or if you ever need to rehome a pet.

After filling out applications at a few other rescues MLAR was the first to respond. We were thrilled when they promptly checked our references and got us in for a visit. When the dog we were originally interested didn't seem to be the right fit for our family, the counselor worked with us and we found our pooch. Even though we live 1 1/2 hr away, the staff was great to work with, they helped us understand how to adjust our fence and overall made it a great experience. Super place!!!!!

I honestly would love to adopt Banks, the "velvet hippo" but I can't afford the adoption fee and although I am federally permitted to have a dog in my residence, my living situation regarding my residence is going to be changing very drastically for at least myself by the end of the year when my father, the landlord, has told me that he would be having the property up for sale. I live on a fixed income currently and for the past decade or more. This decision ultimately makes the 3 current tennants virtually or ultimately homeless. Our ages range from the 70's-20's. 2 of the 3 have serious chronic and potentially life threatening health issues making the whole thing that much worse. As well as the fact that we are all single and have no significant other in our lives either. Please pray for all of us, wish us luck, whatever you do and are able to do for us, please, please do that. šŸ˜šŸ˜ŠšŸ˜š

Amazing facility, great care for animals. Staff was kind, thorough, and easy to work with. I adopted an amazing dog and the team at MLAR made sure our new dog was properly introduced to us as well as our 10 yr old dog. This rescue takes dogs from all over; puppy mills, animal control, shelters, surrenders, strays, etc. They take great care of their animals and even have a fake house to work on training and assimilation to a home. Highly recommended!

My family has been looking to adopt for months and have had no luck. We saw a dog we wanted and reached out to MLAR. John approved our application and called us in to meet with the dog. Unfortunately, that particular animal was not a fit for our family. John took his time, and I'm sure a great deal of patience, to introduce us to a few more dogs. We were lucky to find the perfect fit for our family! Could not say enough great things about this organization!

The staff is absolutely professional, caring, and invested in the animals. It was a significantly better experience than another shelter that I visited. They love AJ (my foster to adopt doggo) and it's genuine. I can't speak for other shelters, but it's a beautiful facility with and excellent team.

This rescue is EXCELLENT, they have so many different breeds of all ages and sizes! All the negative reviews I read are just spiteful people who, for whatever reason, are not qualified to adopt. MLAR does not want to keep dogs, they want to find them good homes and to do so they have rules to follow. My wife and I spent half a day there and we were given plenty of attention from the all the VOLUNTEERS and the dogs. This place is extremely well run and organized. They allowed us to put 2 dogs on 'hold' for a couple of days to make up our minds. Once we decided which dog to adopt Bill came out for the home/fence check. He expressed some concern as we live on a busy road and have a large creek behind us, he also noted that our firewood box could be used to escape over the fence. Since we were polite/honest/respectable people with great vet references and dog history we were approved. I removed the firewood box, not because I had to but because Bill made a valid point. These people truly care about the well being of the animals and want the best for them. We plan on adopting another once we get settled with this one, you can bet that we will be right back at MLAR.
