First off I wanna say those of you that leave 1* reviews for incidental issues need to read the 5 ***** reviews. This Chambersburg U-Haul goes beyond whats expected for folks time and again. Allow me to share my recent experience.. I badly needed an upgrade for my Jeep to be able to tow my new trailer. Hence I made an appt for a new hitch install but a futher away branch location made a mistake that day on my install leaving me without lights to legally haul my trailer, yet another day I'd be without was my thoughts. To my surprise this local branch and their awesome team went way beyond what I could've asked , First the young lady in charge got in touch with the "branch mechanic" and proceeded to get under my Jeep and trouble shoot the issue best she could, When that didn't work I thought for sure I'd lose yet another day but to my surprise the "mechanic" said he could come in on his day off and fix it within the hour if I could wait.. The "branch mechanic" turned out to be General Manager of the Chambersburg U-Haul location.. True to his word within the hour He fixed the issue and was all too happy to accept only a handshake for a job well done.. Can't wait until you reopen at your larger location I'll be back with friends for sure... Thanx guys

I rent a trailer her twice a year. The service has been flawless always. The unit I reserved is always there, the check-in process is quick, personnel is very knowledgeable....Excellent place to do business with!

I was charged a $20 "after hours service charge". No one went over this charge with me when signing for the truck. I've rented here multiple times in the past and have not had to pay this. For what reason does there need to be a service charge for an after hours drop off? There's a key box to drop off the keys. It costs this business nothing at all for a client to drop a truck off on the weekends after hours.Had I known this, I would have dropped the truck off before closing. I was moving so waited until the movers were gone to bring the truck back. Still, You SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME IN ADVANCE ABOUT THIS CHARGE.

The service was poor guy charge me for two day but I didn’t even have it for one day.!the fuel thank was 3/4 full and i returned it 3/4 full man say it should have me 7/8 just a total rip off.

I paid $6.88 for 6 hours use of a 15 ft uhaul and it is really possible just ask for a truck under a quarter tank of gas ... bring it back with a quarter tank and they give you 40$ off!! Now I only drove it 1 mile !! 😆 😂 😆

If your looking for a U-Haul in the Chambersburg area this is the best location. I showed up for my reservation 20 minutes before closing time and turned out my vehicle didn't have the proper wiring to pull the trailer, when normal people would have said tough luck David and Kelly said otherwise they were very kind and patient with me and stayed an hour and a half after closing time to wire my vehicle so that I could leave the next morning as planned and thanks to them we were able to leave as planned. I definitely recommend this location to anyone!

Clerk and whoever the guy was is very unprofessional the lady i had to repeat multiple times im borrowing a vehicle to use a dolly and still was asking a million questions all i wanted was a estimate to tow a vehicle the guy insisted that 4wd needed a car trailer not a dolly cuz it could just "kick itself into 4wd" which if the transmission a 5 speed transmission is in neutral it doesn't matter everything is in free spin while in neutral just down right disappointed and then didn't even have one to rent after all of this. Just terrible

I needed a U-Haul truck last minute and went to the Chambersburg U-Haul store. Mr.Doug was the coolest dude ever. He helped me with absolutely everything I needed and got a good couple laughs on top of my great experience. I would absolutely recommend to anyone. Thank you Doug!!!!✌️💜😁

We use this U-Haul location to refill our propane tank for our grill. It's so much cheaper than a tank exchange. Bring your tank here and they fill it and only charge you for the amount filled. So, if your tank isn't completely empty, it doesn't matter too much because you're not paying for a full tank of propane. So much more economical, especially for us when we go through multiple tanks a year we grill out so much.We also used this U-haul when we moved. Once in 2011 when we moved here from Florida and used U-Boxes. They were shipped to this location, and once arrived, they contacted me for delivery. They kept me up to date and worked with me for delivery and pick up of the empty boxes. Very courteous and good service.The other time we used a small truck to move locally. The truck was in good condition and gave us just what we needed.

We reserved a uhaul here and when we came to pick it up, we asked if we could pay a portion of cash and the rest on the card. They said yes, so we went to the atm to get cash. When we returned we were told no, we need to put it all on the card. I asked to speak to the manager and he said he was the manager. I got so upset when we left to redeposit our money, I pulled my phone to call anither uhaul place and I fell on the pavement and skinned my knee. We spent an hour with what should have been 10 minutes.They also asked us to pick it up a day early because of a big snowstorm coming, then told my husband we had to return it a day early. When I called customer service they said that we were misinformed. This manager doesn't have a clue about his job. His mask was also super dirty, although he seemed paranoid about the virus, very contradictive.

Completely screwed our move. Waits until a day before the move to tell us closest truck that can fit anything is in Mechanicsburg. Will not reimburse for the extra gas to get up there and back. Difficult to work with- seriously just avoid uHaul. Budget in Hagerstown is easily a better choice at this point.

I cannot give the Chambersburg U-Haul enough respect and acclaim for how they saved my butt this week. FedEx misplaced my hitch, so the U-Haul crew found another one for me in York. Turns out, I had ordered the wrong one, so they drove to the York location TWICE just to get the correct hitch for me.Cheers to Eugene and Doug for keeping my moving timeline on track. You folks are amazing. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!

The older gentleman works hard and does everything for you from connecting the trailer to disconnecting and moving it for you. It gets busy at 9am on weekdays and it was only him in there so come early. Hard to beat the price.

I've been to many uhauls and this is by far the best. Friendly, professional, honest. Just a pleasant experience dog friendly too. Had a hitch installed and it was done properly . I'll be back for a trailer soon. I've also rented a pick up truck her. A+++++

Other than the truck not being sweeped completely before we picked up the truck everything went fine. I was concerned we might get charged for extras since u-haul is notorious for that but had no issues, customer service was freindly and quick!

The owner of this uhaul is such a kind gentleman, and he has excellent customer service. We got an extra day to use the uhaul for free just because of the kindness of this man. The uhaul was great. It only had 3,000 miles on it. Highly recommend

My husband rented a car trailer, called back and asked if he needed anything to tie the vehicle down with. He was told it comes with everything he needs to tie the vehicle down. When he got there, he needed a 2" ball, and a flat plug adapter that he didn't have with him. But of course, they sell them. (NOT RENT) He feels they should tell you UP FRONT what you need to tow that trailer. Ask more questions before you go to pick up things you need to rent. The owner/operator of the store WAS very friendly and helpful.

I like this U-Haul location, it is a fairly large one and always seems to have the equipment and moving supplies that you need, boxes, furniture pads, dollies, etc. I especially like the General Manager here, Gene, he will accomplish whatever it is that you need.
