Big lots in Chambersburg got this high of a rating because I really like Big lots in general. Has great couches, furniture, snacks, and merchandise overall. Great to go if you're trying to avoid CVS, Giant, Walmart, and do a stop-n-go shopping situation.(Disclaimer: the better quality Big lots is the one in Hagerstown Maryland if you're willing to make the 30 minute commute.)

Omg this is a heavenly place. Spotlessly clean and super organized. The best thing is it is located in a safe part of town unlike the Chambersburg one. A little bit of a wait at checkout but nothing outrageous.

They have a lot of things that people are looking for. Prices are Fairly good. They have a handy cap entrance but the door opens slowly. Not enough help. Waited 15 minutes in line because of the cashier made a mistake and didn't know how to solve the issue. They called for another cashier to help get the line moving. I was there during the slow period of the day. However most of the time I go there I don't have to wait long. Employees are nice and they do their best.

Big Lot's "furniture" in particular is a quarter of the cost of the big furniture stores and the quality in my opinion is almost just as good depending upon what your looking for especially if you're on a budget or have a family. One of the associate's "Lori" from the Chambersburg location has helped us twice now with getting our furniture. Thanks to her it was a quick stress free transition and before making our way home her and another employee brought the furniture out on carts and assisted me with loading it into my pickup.

Linda in the furniture department was an absolute gem. Super nice and patient, had a smile on her face the whole interaction. Really worth visiting the store just to get assistance from such a kind person.The only reason for the removal of a star was another associate that was working there. I unfortunately did not catch his name, but the way he carried himself and answered questions, I believe he may have been in management. This person was outright condescending and rude, while in front of customers.Mostly minor issues, but notable. I saw a patron grab a cart, and he audibly said "seriously". I guess the cart may have been placed there for a reason. He immediately went up and moved a hand truck closer to the carts.Then at checkout, this 'manager like' person was talking about Linda, saying "What is taking so long".In all, I left with a positive feeling, but can't help but feel that this person may be missing some people skills. He may have been having a bad day or whatever, but I still felt he was unprofessional

We went to every department store in the area. Needless to say, I leave no stone unturned. With that being said, I even am particularly picky with the customer sales representative that would deal with us. I even narrow it down to the person that is how much time and consideration I take into account before making a purchase. Barbara and Johnny are by far the absolute best customer sales representatives in this entire area as I have personally taken the time to meet each and everyone of them. From start to finish, I was 100% satisfied with 100% customer satisfaction guaranteed. I refuse to work with or deal with anyone else. Barbara and Johnny are by far the best customer sales professionals in the business. To me, investing time is worth it into making every purchase in life. Barbara and Johnny were easy going, friendly, accepting, and welcoming. The model of how every customer service professional should be. Without question, Barbara and Johnny went above and beyond expectations and answered every single question, comment, and concern that I had about my purchase. Barbara and Johnny had more patience with me than any other sales professional I have ever dealt with or worked with. Thank you Barbara and Johnny for a flawless sales transaction from start to finish. Patience is a virtue. And, you have more patience than anyone I have ever dealt with. So although I did give a great review a little while ago, my husband and I did not purchase furniture at that time. We have done the progressive leasing now twice. The first time we thought maybe we the try that, and the stuff was not good quality. So then we had to do the progressive leasing a second time to get other stuff. I would never recommend getting absolutely any furniture from big lots. Everything else is decent, but we got brand new bed sets from there, armoires, electric fireplace heaters, TV stands, a kitchen island, to kitchen tables, the square cubicle storage centers, and more. Everything that we had purchased has literally been less than a year old. and the stuff is just not good at all. At least $25,000 worth of stuff is wasted. Most of it we can't even move to the house that we just purchased. Get your shampoo, beauty supplies there, your pictures, your house the core there, but please don't waste your money on anything else. Now I have to figure out how in the world I'm going to repurchase all of this stuff.

Not a bad Big Lots.. But its always messy and takes forever to get through the checkout even with 2 or 3 cashier's.. But still overall a good big lots with alot of selections for everything your looking for..
