Tried to go 15 minutes before close for a quick emergency item tonight and the woman working already had the doors locked. I knocked because the lights were on and I was confused because it says open until 10 online. She eventually came out and said they were closed. I assume she just wanted to lock up early. As someone who has worked retail jobs I would have never locked the doors prior to my closing hours. When you live in a small town with only one store you should be able to count on that store to be open when they say they’re open.

I can only rate them with 3 stars. Their store is nice, somewhat well stocked with what is going on but the cashiers attitude about masks upset me since I was on my way home the oncologist. The women in front of me noticed that I was uncomfortable with the people without masks and was doing everything in my power to avoid them. She even asked if I was okay. She mentioned to the cashier that she should have a mask on and the other one said "it's a free country ". I go to small slow stores for my food and cleaning needs to avoid crowds and then I have to hear stuff like this when I'm just trying to live another day.

I visited this Dollar General on a very busy day. They have a variety of clearance merchandise outside today. I think this store sometimes is so busy that they do not have enough help to adequately stock the shelves properly. It is usually difficult to find a clerk to ask a question because they are at the front register. Prices are good and they have a full range of products for sale

The cashier who was working here deserves a raise! She was friendly, funny, and a genuine people person! Plus, this store had amazing deals! I highly recommend this store. Don't let the name dollar store fool you! The merchandise is high quality and well priced!

I am very happy that this store is in our neighborhood.We call this place the "Centre Hall Walmart." Prices better that big box stores.

I love Dollar General.Downloaded app & get coupons to save even more.4 stars not 5 because everytime I go there's stocking carts in aisles blocking shelves & items! Bummer.

This is a very busy place. Great for grabbing something you ran out of at home. Or for last minute items. But often the shelf can be empty. Just not enough space to stock product until the next delivery.

Managers are usually quite helpful and know their bustling store inventory quite well. The whole place impressed me with a shift to an improved atmosphere in the last couple months (as of Dec. 2019)

A nice neat fairly clean store and a friendly cashier. There's always a lot of back stock on the floor which makes the isles narrow and harder to negotiate. However I've seen this at most every Dollar General store.

the floor is always dirty and there are always things in the way on the sides and in the middle of the store. Mabe if they stripped and waxed it more than once a year. The staff however are curtious and helpful. Two stars for the staff!!!!

If it was cleaned up things put away. Sales people a little more customer friendly. I hate having to stand in line forever to check out one item. The place just feels dirty.

Really good for a quick trip since most stores are a good drive away. Some prices are good some are bad. Just pick and choose and make sure you cross check your pricing to see if it's worth it.

People were not keeping 6 feet apart in the check out line. One man with his nose exposed. A couple without masks joined this man in line. The first man then pulled his mask down under his chin and all three people began chatting. Nothing was said to anyone about social distancing or wearing masks.

This place is a disgrace to health. Cashier coughing up a lung, no mask. Another employee Spits on the plastic bags to separate them. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH COVID 19, DEFINITELY NOT following CDC guidelines. Add to add, they smoke outside the door where U HAVE TO walk through it, so disgusting. Even if this covid 19 ends up to be a hoax, don't u want ppl to error on the side of caution. Better to be safe than sorry. Cashiers made a joke of my concerns. Left bagged items, told them to reshelve them, I was NOT taking possible contaminated items home.

The location is convenient. They generally have what you need. They are friendly. Exiting from the parking lot is scary if you are in a car. You can't see to the left. If it is during moderate to heavy traffic, I won't go there.

Only used the FedEx drop-off, but the clerk was MOTIVATED to get it right, and get me a confirmation that my package got picked up.

EVERYDAY I HEAR PEOPLE SAY "ARE THERE NOT ANY NICE/ GOOD PEOPLE LEFT IN THIS WORLD" WELL MY QUESTION IS WHY SHOULD THERE BE? TODAY I WATCHED THE DISTRICT MANAGER OF THE DOLLAR GENERAL IN CENTRE HALL PA. STORE KICK A MAN OUTTA THE STORE AND BAN HIM FROM EVERY GOING THERE AGAIN CAUSE HE HELPED A LADY PAY FOR HER STUFF AND OFFERED TO HELP SOMEONE ELSE PAY FOR THERE STUFF IN MY EYES HE WAS JUST BEING NICE OR DOING A GOOD DEED SO MY QUESTION AGAIN IS WHY SHOULD THERE BE NICE/GOOD PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD WHEN THEY GET PUNISHED ... I CAN PROMISE THIS I WILL NEVER SHOP AT THE DOLLAR GENERAL IN CENTRE HALL I PROMISE I WILL BOYCOTT THAT STORE UNTIL THEY GET A NEW DISTRICT MANAGER..AND MAYBE NOT EVEN THEN AND TO THE WORKER DORIS THAT WORKS THEN I HOPE SOME DAY WHEN YOU ARE SHORT CHANGED NO ONE HELPS YOU OR IF YOU GET A FLAT TIRE ALONG THE ROAD NO ONE STOPS TO HELP YOU I KNOW I WON'T WE HERE IN CENTRE HALL WELL MOST HELP EACH OTHER EVERYDAY WE ARE A SMALL COMMUNITY WHERE EVERYONE KNOWS JUST ABOUT EVERYONE ON A REAL NOTE WHAT WAS THE HARM IN THAT YOUNG MANY TRYING TO HELP PEOPLE .THERE WAS NONE YOU ALL AT THE DG IN CENTRE HALL JUST WANTED TO BE ASSHOLES......

Prices are way cheaper than going to Walmart on the things they carry. Staff is usually friendly and you Always get a Thank you which I hardly ever get at Walmart.

Crowded today.. fair move in tomorrow. Stock needs stocked soon. Workers open both registers and merchandise in aisles to be shelved. More workers needed just to stock

The place that almost has what you need... selection is limited but it is known as the "Bellefonte WalMart". They do what they can and prices are decent. A very fair store.
