My husband and I shopped for hiking boots this evening and had one of the best customer service experiences with Carol in the shoe department. She was incredibly knowledgeable and steered each of us to boots that we can't wait to take out on the trails. She was extremely patient and helpful, especially since we were there a little past closing! We didn't even realize it was closing and she never rushed us at all.

I went there with my husband to get him hiking pants. My husband found pants he liked. The gentleman who helped us... I didn't catch his name... was very helpful. It's just a much better experience when you can get friendly, knowledgeable assistance.

Found the collapsible canteen that I didn't know I needed. Actually I was looking for the water bottle with a plastic bag of some sort, which turned out to be the collapsible canteen. Just perfect

Have to give a shout out to Nick for being so quick to help me in a time of need. I thought I lost my wallet and I wanted to know if anyone turned it in but he said no one had but that he would check the parking lot for me. I ended up finding it while he was out in the cold looking for it so I called back to let him know I found it. On top of that I had a great shopping experience at this location!

Doing some Christmas shopping and was amazed and appalled at the number of rude salespeople/store associates at most of the other stores I had been to. Decided to go to LL Bean to find a few things on my list. What a truly wonderful shopping experience! Everyone was so very friendly/kind knowledgeable about products and actually wanted to help! WOW! Shout out to the ladies in the women’s department. (I walk with a cane and was having a particularly bad day with mobility.). Absolutely incredible assisting with me with sizes/styles, etc. Could not be more helpful! I think that because the employees of LLBean were so terrific, it rubbed off on the other shoppers!

Hit or miss to find deals in my size. A lot of XXXL etc. Prices are creeping up even for already expensive items and you have to keep an eye out for things made in China

Weekend worrier camping gear supply store for sure. Nothing super technical gear but they definitely have a little bit of everything and for sure enough to get you through any camping, hiking, kayaking, paddle boards and more. Good stop for some last minute gear when you know the internet won’t deliver on time.

This was my first time ever at L.L. Bean and I was pleasantly surprised! As soon as I walked in quite a few items caught my attention. The clothing look and feel like really good quality. The prices reflect that, but I'm sure it's worth it.

Purchased two kayaks, a 10' and a 12' Manatee, and a SUP without much thought about how to get them home. A big thanks to Phil who patiently and knowledgeably explained the many things we needed to know about kayaks, the relative merits of different types, and how to transport them safely. Phil also explained our options for getting all the home on our Camry. We eventually decided on a roof rack system but as luck would have it they (and everyone else) were our of stock on a component. Phil ordered the what we needed and went out of his way to find a sale item. Then when it was time to bring them home, he helped us load and showed us the correct way to secure them to the rack. He spent a lot of time with us and never made us feel rushed. It makes me realize how little expert service most big stores offer. We have been out several times in our kayaks and love them and my daughter is getting a lot of use out of her SUP. Between the excellent kayaks from LL Bean and Phil's knowledge and enthusiasm, it was a great, low pressure experience. Will definitely be back.

I'm a big fan of LL Bean in general and I've been to the store in Freeport a few times, but I didn't know how big this store was going to be. I was excited to see that it was gigantic. We were there on a mission for Boots so we went straight there and tried on so many pairs of boots and there was a guy named Thomas who was helping us by getting things from the back and even went to find a pair of boots from a mannequin. He did all of it with a smile and really made our experience easy so we walked out with a great pair of boots that are already being enjoyed on a daily basis. Of course we browsed the rest of the store as well and everything is high quality and looks good. They have a little outdoor adventure section where it looks like they help people plan excursions, but we didn't have time to dive deeper on that. The store seemed a little more focused on clothing than outdoor equipment, but they still had a section for camping and knives and kayaks and all that.

The woman helping in the woman's dressing room was awesome. She helped with sizes, colors and got things so I did not have to leave my 90 yr. old mother alone in the dressing room. She then ordered us clothing from online which we should get any day. Awesome customer service!

Really nice store, very well laid out. One stop shopping for all your outdoor needs. Things are pricey if you've never been to one of these stores so expect to pay a little more for high quality items

I was looking for long sleeved t-shirts for women. The sales associate was super helpful. There was nothing in my size so she wrote up an order and they arrived today, 2 days later.The store is very clean and all associates were wearing masks.Thank you.

I like to feel clothes for quality and softness. Store is well laid out and salespeople are super helpful. If they don't have your size or color they will order it for you and have it shipped. Rarely have sales (bummer), but I have hiking clothing and boots I still am wearing 15 years later and still look new.

The store itself was clean and beautiful. Everything was easy to find also. My only issue was the help. I didn't even notice them until I cam out from around a rack and a young man was watching me. I stopped to text and he ran off. At first I thought it was nothing, then over in the shoe section another woman did exactly the same thing. The only difference was at first she said hello, then preceded to act as if she was "facing" things. Then when I stopped to text right next to her she ran and hid too. I amnot a criminal, nor have I ever been to that store, so for them to follow me around, watching me was ridiculous and they seemed to be profiling only because it's a high-end store and I wasn't exactly looking my best. The only people who didn't seem judgemental were the cashiers, but the floor people were definitely profiling. I bought my stuff and left and most likely won't be back much.

LL Bean has excellent quality of clothing. It's expensive but worth paying the extra bucks. I have 3-5 year old clothes and all of them have withstand usage and still look good. I've had to return clothes also, and it's been very easy to return.

This store is very overpriced. Caters to those that want to pretend they are outdoor enthusiasts but just like to dress as one. Men's jeans are worth the money because they are well made. Ninety percent of the sales staff are rude and snobby.i did get a really nice salesperson on my last visit, though, so she made it pleasant.

The Promenade is a very nice shopping village. The LL Bean Store offers a great retail experience if you like outdoor outfitters. Its nice to be able to shop and see clothing that you could historically could only buy online. I wear Khaki's for work. Their prices seemed comparable to Dockers at Department Stores. Looking forward to visiting some of the other shops and restaurants.
