I left another review on their FB page as well, but felt this establishment deserves all the positive reviews as possible!!!The Coal Dock (previously A&S Ice Cream owned by a fellow neighbor in Catawissa) has brought such good change to our tiny towns ice cream shop ❤ 🍦Great food, good prices, fun atmosphere, friendly staff, and great place to take the kids on a hot day!! I especially love the live bands, that's definitely been an extra plus.Keep up the great work, guys! 👏👏👏👏

We love Coal Dock! They have great food, the curly fries and chicken cordon bleu bites are awesome! The ice cream menu includes sundaes, shakes, cones, etc. They even have crunch coat! There is counter service & nice, clean outside seating. Check their Facebook page for schedule of live music. Don't forget to take a picture in front of the mural painted by Muck Rock.

The ice cream was ok. It was a little on the expensive side. We were there on a cold and rainy night (low sixtys), but the bugs around the ordering counter and the seating area were horrible. We got our order and hightailed it to the car so we didn't get the unwanted extra protein in our food. There were three workers and only 4 customers (including us), but it took quite a while to get a small order.Unfortunately, all the drive inn could take away from my post is that they can't control the weather, which had nothing to do with the review other than to set the scene at the time of our visit. To sum it up, ok ice cream, slow service, bugs are a problem regardless of the weather.

Great little drive-in for a quick bite to eat and ice cream. They have so many flavors to choose from! Staff was very friendly too! We will definitely stop again when visiting the area.

Good was fine but the service was shockingly slow for the amount of customers and what was ordered. I literally ordered three fryer items so it would be quick and easy and it took 47 minutes from the time I ordered until I got it. No one on staff attempted to update me or the other three customers waiting over a half hour on the status of our orders until we asked. It would be understandable if they were getting crushed but it was just a nice steady pace of customers, nothing even remotely busy. Seemed like they had 4 people making ice cream orders and one person making grill orders, not doing multiple orders at once. Not trying to give them a bad review but the wait plus the staff basics ignoring those of us waiting was pretty bad. I would try again because the food was pretty good, hopefully they do better next time and I can update this review

It's a local joint that is popular with both the tourist population and locals. I found it a little pricey but my sundae was delish. Bugs ruined the ambience. Weekends are busy and hard to find parking sometimes.

Just went for some ice cream. Place was busy which is fine. But the young lady behind the window seemed very stressed. Ordered a Georgia cup but added peanut butter. When we got the Georgia cup, there were no sprinkles in it. That is what a Georgia cup is. Had to take it back to the window where I got the same stressed employee who said she didn't know I wanted sprinkles, just the peanut butter. In that case I would've ordered just a peanut butter sundae. She was so stressed out that she didn't seem like she knew what to offer. So when she asked if a cup of sprinkles, so we could add them ourselves was ok, I said yes. Customer service here is horrible!!! Especially getting that feeling from the employees! Really don't ever want to come back!A Georgia cup is layers of ice cream and sprinkles. No other item is usually in one. I asked to have peanut butter added to the Georgia cup. I will not return or recommend this place if the employees are that stressed out it is visible and not smiling or friendly.

This place has something for everyone. We only ate here once last year, but we have gotten ice cream a few times. There's always a crowd.

My son and I stopped here for dinner after a day at Knoebels. We both agreed the shoestring fries were the best we've ever tasted. He got a double cheeseburger and it had to be a half lb of beef, he loved it. I had a grilled ham and cheese and it was great. We finished up with chocolate Oreo shakes and once again they were amazing. Place is spotless and there's plenty of outside tables to eat at. Nice memory for my son and I, will be back for sure next year on our annual Knoebels pilgrimage. Only regret is we didn't eat here sooner.

It was a good spot for dinner. They had a band so part of the small parking lot was being used for that. But we got two spots. For the amount of people ordering the food for eight came quick. The food was good. We had good weather so that was a plus as there is only outdoor seating with some covered under the porch roof. Overall a very good local dinner.

Damn Good food is right! We visited on a Friday night in August, and there was live music! All seating is outdoors and the tables were spotless! The entire place was spotless including the parking lot! My daughter had cotton candy soft serve which was DELICIOUS!!! The girls at the counter were super courteous and helpful. I will definitely visit again and recommend it to others!

Went for food while in town visiting family but the kitchen closes 30 minutes before they close for some reason? Which would be fine except we were in line 10 minutes before the kitchen closed and we're unable to get food as planned. Watched 3 parties ahead of us get turned away before we realized what was going on as we saw nothing online or in other reviews saying the kitchen closes early. I just wonder how good a business strategy this is if you're constantly turning people away. On the plus side the soft serve and milkshakes were good.

One of the best little places to stop for ice cream! Good views of the entrance to the town, good employees, amazing bosses, great drive-in food, and of course some amazing ice cream! Personally, I'd recommend the smoothies. They're super good, and not too sweet. Prices are good especially for the sizes you get.

I was pleasantly surprised but the coal dock drive in. If your are just passing though, like we were, you might drive right by coal dock and never know it was there; being tucked away before a bridge over the river. However after stopping there out of pure necessity of three kids needing dinner, we were very suprised by the variety of the menu including vegetarian items which essentially never happens in more remote areas.The quality of food and portion sizes for the price were hands down incredible value. There’s nothing fancy here - it’s just quality feel good food and that’s exactly the type of place you need after a long day of traveling.Highly recommend that if you are ever just nearby to check this place out.

Fantastic Experience here Saturday night. Such a pleasant crowd, friendly workers, impressive variety of flavors! We haven’t found a place around with the soft serve selection! Music playing and plenty of tables to sit and enjoy. Great vibes!

Went there 6/11/23 the girls who took my order was very rude I wasn't even done ordering when the girl walked away I had to call out into the stand for her to come back to finish my order then they didn't blend alot of the stuff together very well then they didn't put everything that we requested on a sunday and in the sunday they put a rotten bananaI sure hope this is a one off thing and theu improve but I don't think they will

Second time we stopped after a trip to knobels. Highly recommend. Great ice cream and great food. Saved us a bunch of money over park food. French fries are very good.

Such an amazing spot to get ice cream and food. Good prices, great food, great quality, and friendly staff. If you go to Knoebels, which is only 10 minutes away, this is definitely a spot to stop and enjoy food. Highly recommend!

Band was nice they over cook your food black on one side don't order shrimp because it is hard first time is the last time..... one of the employees gave me the finger while I was walking away and I turned around and gave it back..... I was in the wrong tho

No Inside Restrooms, but you can use the nice new shinny Job Johnny in the parking lot, No Inside Dining, but you are welcome to sit in the hot sun to eat! Never Again for me!
