Love the Dog Stop! My dog goes here a couple times a week and loves hanging out with her canine friends and human companions. The staff is very welcoming and clearly loves all of the dogs. I like that each room has access to an outside grass patch. The themed photoshoots are so fun!

We started going to this location after the Sewickley location closed and we couldn't be happier. We wish it was closer so our dog could go more often. The facility is very clean with multiple playrooms that have an indoor and outdoor. I've watched on the available cameras to see handlers playing with the dogs and showing a genuine interest in their time there. Dogs are placed based on temperament not just size. Staff is extremely friendly and owners actively engage with clients.

I’m going to start this review with saying I’m not a disgruntled employee. Yes I worked here but I left on my own accord because I love dogs to much and couldn’t be there with the way management and the owners run things .I saw dogs being let out to potty at 2/3pm and not again till 9am. I saw the extra services not being done because employees didn’t want to be in the rain and the manager allowing it. This is just a few issues I had. That’s not including the multiple dog fights that happened while I was there. Dogs getting hurt and the manager telling the owners it happened in the kennel when it didn’t. I saw terrified dogs being dragged in to the rooms which caused them to snap at other dogs and dragged out of the rooms. Management having brand new employees doing temp tests. Absolutely no actual training being done. I pushed for better training and found guides to use to help. I was the only one in management that asked for the behavior training courses to be sent out. I was told by the manager, Ashely I was not allowed to talk about training anymore and I was to mind my business which as the assistant manager that was my business. Any new employee coming in will be thrown with an old employee who also hasn’t had proper training and told to show them everything. The manager told me on weekends that breakfast and lunch are to be thrown together because they don’t have time to split them (we did have time) and every time she closed no dog was let out to potty after they ate(again because she claimed we didn’t have time). When I opened most of the time almost every dog in boarding would have went in their kennel because they can’t hold it that long and even if they could I can’t imagine that’s good on their bladder.I want to make sure I say not all closing employees would follow her lead. They have a few that would make sure things were done right and what was best for the dogs but they only work a few days a week or hardly at all.I talked with the owners on multiple occasions and even asked if I should send an email to them explaining everything going on so they can make changes and was told that wasn’t necessary. In the short time I was there I was written up for flipping out on the manager because I went to her upset about a sick dog and all she was worried about was making sure it was clean for when it went back to the owner. I was also written up for “lying” because I was supposed to be in the daycare room “with another employee for awhile” for my first time, I was brand new and the employee came in for 60 seconds (per watching it on camera) and left. When asked if she was in the room with me I said no and was written up for lying because she was in there for 60 seconds.I witnessed the manager charging peoples credit cards at home without asking why something wasn’t rung up or even knowing the situation. NEVER let them leave your card on file. They will make it seem like you have to but you don’t!I would never leave my dog at one of these places after working here. I love my dogs to much to put them through that. Just remember Employees see what the customer doesn't get to.

This place rocks! Super quick nail trims, $15 for less than 15 minutes. Having a groom, nail, and shave service was only around $60 and my boy is so much happier now! Heather does a fantastic job and everyone is super friendly, wouldn't want to go anywhere else 😊 check that fresh trim 💅

My girlfriend started taking our dog here about about a month ago and she is fitting in so well socially. The entire staff is great and so friendly. We also boarded her the 1st time ever and was so impressed with everyone. The previous manager with Curly hair would not accept our dog for daycare and always told my partner that she had to schedule daycare at this location. That made us feel like our dog was not welcomed which resulted in us taking our dog to a different corporate run location that did not require all the hassle but I have heard that the new manager (I think her name is Ashlee) is from a corporate run location and is superb. She was in fact awesome at answering all of our questions and very accommodating to us and our dog, we could not be happier!

My puppy absolutely LOVES The Dog Stop. She goes to doggy day camp 2-3 days per week and, when I pull in to drop her off, I can't get her out of the car and into the building fast enough! It eases my anxiety knowing that she is that excited to be dropped off. I also had to board her when I went on vacation, which is something I've never done previously with other dogs. The staff were very reassuring that she would be well taken care of and based on how much she enjoys doggy day camp, I knew she was going to be in good hands! The staff are all wonderful, and take great care of Sidney - they truly love her like she's one of their own. I'd definitely recommend The Dog Stop to anyone looking for daycare or boarding!

The dog stop is wonderful! Staff are super friendly, caring, and professional! This was the first time we've ever had to board our 4 year old Shepherd, and needless to say we were very nervous and skeptical. However, the dog stop was amazing with answering questions, showing us around, and just being very patient and caring with us! They were just absolutely amazing with our girl and we'd definitely board with them again!

I value a business when they are punctual and go above and beyond to exceed expectations. They did that in my case with my pups. This was my first rendezvous with them, and they provided quality service and information when i walked in to inquire about boarding my two pups for the first time. The facility tour was incredible, and the staff were all so friendly and amazing, especially Ashley, who helped ease my fears about boarding my nervous pups who are extremely nervous with new folks! They also do adorable pictures every so often, which are always a treat to get! They truly do everything for the dogs here!! Highly recommend!!

It saddens my heart to write.this. I recently worked here and left due to very unfortunate circumstances. I used to love working at this location and with all of the dogs. They were like my own. Recently new management has taken over and ever since then things have changed and not in a good way. Most of the original staff has left due to poor management skills and the new staff not being able to handle the job. It is no longer safe foe you to take your pups here. In one month alone there have been 6 altercations with dogs that lead to them being bloody. Two needing stitches. All due to error on new staff. The new G.M doesn't care and tries to blame the dogs when it wasn't the dogs fault. They are loosing business due to this and I don't blame any of the owners for pulling their dogs. I have also witnessed dogs being hit by new staff. Totally uncalled for. Please don't take your dogs here. I am aware that as soon as management sees this post they will take it down but I had to say my peace. I'm going to clear the air because the response I got made it sound like they fired me and that's not the case. I quit, due to I couldn't handle the unsafe environment for the dogs anymore. I had called off once without medical excuse since new management took over. She made it seem like I called off all the time and that's not so. Also yes the new general manager does have 7 yrs experience with the dog stop but is new as a G.M. She doesn't know how to have new staff properly trained. It was hard for me to train when she scheduled them opposite shift as me or on days and times I didn't work. Or if I was there she didn't schedule enough people so I could only be dealing with training. She threw new employees into a daycare room with no training their 1st day and I wasn't even there so u can't blame me for that. The new G.M takes no responsibility for anything and blames everyone else. When one of the dogs got hurt she didn't check him out nor seemed to care he got hurt. Then had the nerve to blame that dog and say he hurt himself when clearly another dog bit him.. there have been more accidents involving dogs in the last month than there were in the entire year and a half I worked there.

I am so sad to have to update my prior review. I have recommended this place to so many friends. Our dog has went there since the facility opened. He LOVES going there. The original team that was there was so sweet and knew him by name. He was even scheduled to board next week while we are out of the country. We had to cancel. We have seen reviews pop up here and there over the last few months that raised some concerns and thought maybe these were one off cases. But in the last 24 hours there has been several Facebook posts made (with photo and video evidence) from various former employees detailing mistreatment of the dogs behind the scenes. They said on the weekends the dogs are sometimes not let out from their kennel to go to the bathroom for up to 17 hours. They end up having to go in their kennel. Which for my dog would be extremely upsetting. There was a photo of an injured dog from a dog fight, where they were instructed to lie about it to the owner. And finally there is a video of an employee wrapping a leash around a dogs neck and DRAGGING him across a room. My husband and I are shocked. Our Australian Shepherd is high energy so we are nervous to think how he might have been treated when we weren’t watching the cameras. We have always loved this place. But I can’t leave the country and know that my dog is in an unsafe environment.

It makes me sad that I have to write this but I feel it’s important for the safety of the dogs. You can see my previous review and how much we loved The Dog Stop. Our dog was one of the first dogs at this location and she has consistently gone to daycare here since they opened. We have always loved it and felt that she was very safe there. But recently things have changed .The original staff that we (and our dog) has loved and trusted, has been being let go (or quitting) every day due to new management. The original manager was kind and caring and so incredible with our pup. And so was the rest of the staff. There is now a new manager there that quite frankly does not know what she is doing. Not only did she give me the wrong dog one day, but she tried to blame me. This incident could have ended so badly. This dog was so scared and tried to run out. What if the dog tried to attack? The manager was not apologetic in the slightest bit and since that day I have seen her do this two more times.Even after that the manager still does not know my dog or me. My dog is clearly not comfortable around her. She doesn’t greet the dogs and the dogs don’t seem to want to be around her either- my dog goes straight to one of the regular employees. The manager also has a dog behind the counter in crate which is dangerous is very confusing to all of us.This new manager has made no effort at all to get to know these animals. She is hiring employees that don’t seem to be properly trained- and my dog is very afraid of one. At this time, I do not feel like The Dog Stop is a safe place for my (or your) pup unless the original staff is working.Original review:We can’t say enough amazing things about The Dog Stop in Carnegie! It’s our pup’s favorite place. She loves being there and gets so excited when it’s time for daycare! The staff is incredible and is always so great with our pup!

I've seen the viral videos of the employee dragging dogs around with something wrapped around their throats. Absolutely disgusting. I've heard stories of the GM throwing a small dog scaring it so bad it peed itself. I've also heard the GM always wanted to get out early so a lot of times those dogs would be taken out before dinner- around 5 pm and then not taken back out until 8 or 9 in the morning. Protect your fur babies. Keep them away from here.

I have brought my pup to The Dog Stop at the Strip District location several times over the last few years to purchase dog food, toys, treats, and have always received phenomenal service and care for my pup from Ashley and the amazing team! When they don't have a groomer in, Ashley even offers to take the walk in nails for our pup and does it herself! She goes the extra mile and cares for our dog as if it were her own. The recent (and very obvious!) false reviews from past disgruntled Carnegieemployees (and their friends) are extremely mind boggling to read as I can say this is very far from the truth being a long time client.

The Dog Stop in Carnegie has very friendly managers & staff. They are very accommodating. You are free to your the facility and it is evident that they give your dogs excellent care & attention. They have grooming, indoor kennels, indoor play space, and outdoor play space too! This is such a wonderful place to keep your dog!

Viewed our dog being mistreated on the cameras as well as multiple other dogs. Come to find out that numerous others have similar complaints so it appears to be a normal occurrence here. If we were able to see multiple instances of inappropriate care in 10 minutes watching, really makes you think what's happening when you're not watching. Do not recommend this establishment for any services.

It makes me so sad to change my review for The Dog Stop Carnegie. My dog was one of the first dogs at this location and he absolutely loved it there. He got a big greeting every time he came and a sweet goodbye every time he left. The original workers who were typically out front (Blaise, Amberli, and Emily) were so friendly. It felt like I was catching up with old friends every time we came. When the Dog Stop Carnegie opened, we lived about 2 minutes away. We moved 35 minutes away recently and kept taking our dog to Carnegie since I knew the level of care he was going to receive. With every familiar face that leaves (voluntarily or involuntarily), I feel as though the level of care takes a step in the wrong direction. Based on other recent reviews from long-timers, I am not alone in how I feel. It is a shame because that was such an amazing group of people. We have since begun taking our dog to a different dog stop location closer to our new home.

The Staff is great and Knowledgeable and they really care about the Dogs and treat them like they're own. Ashley is really caring and really cares. The Dog Stop in Carnegie is a great place to leave your dog for daycare or for boarding.

This place is in shambles now. The new management sucks, which is made even more evident by their responses and all the negative reviews that have been made in the time since they took over (spoiler alert, there were only 2 reviews from before the change in regime that were not 5 stars…with one being 4 stars). Leadership starts at the top, and the top, well, she just seems to point the finger everywhere else. Blaise and her team were awesome. Honestly, it is pretty sad what has happened since they left. Guess we’ll never actually see the refund we are due.Update:Guess the owners are now finding out they should have listened to the many, not the one. Also, we did get our refund. Hopefully there’s some money saved up for some lawsuits.

It hurts my heart to write this as ive been coming to the dog stop to buy my dog treats and accessories for years. This location used to be so nice, the staff was always friendly, it was always so clean and, the dogs looked happy to be there. When i went in yesterday, it was a different story. ive been hearing bad things about the new owners and did not want to believe them, but yesterday when i went in to get more dog treats it was a different story. I watched the manager try to give someone the wrong dog while walking around, with no remorse when the customer said it was not her dog, heard a dog whining loudly from the back, and watched the GM yank on a dogs leash VERY HARD to get them to cooperate. The new management has also fired/let go most of the employees who work well with the dogs, and replaced them with a staff who you can tell does not care about them. charging people between $100-$450 to have their dogs come to daycare that theyre treated poorly at. please do not take your pups here anymore :(UPDATE:My review is legit ma’am, and maybe not owners but you guys did get new managers. which is who im speaking about. between this dog stop and other locations my family and I have been customers for YEARS. I was there when i went in with my mother whos name is on the account (and we have different last names so you searching for me is not gonna help you at all) not mine. My dog has had boarding at this location and others before. and you responding to reviews arguing with customers who YOU GAVE THESE TERRIBLE EXPERIENCES TO quite frankly is a terrible look for your business.

I am heistant to write this, but I think it needs to be said, especially after reading the Vanessa Schlegel review. She is a current employee and should not be in the rooms with the dogs.I am a former canine companion with this location. I hold respect for Brian and Dean. This is a business endeavor they are passionate about, but unfortunately, they can not always be on site because they are still working so that the Dog Stop can continue to be in business. I can attest that Brian and Dean, the owners are good people, but I believe the current GM may be misleading them. The current GM is keeping staff who have exhibited undesirable behavior towards the dogs. She had a habit of blaming past staff for things they had no control over. Further more, she covered up mistakes that should have at least led to a probabtion by some of HER new hires and was willing to punish the former staff for minor infractions. I understand that it is desirable to build your own crew, but some are just thrown into the room as a body with no proper training. She has brought staff from former locations that were initially loyal to her, but even a few of them ended up dissatisfied with how things were being run and eventually quit. This is her first time being a General Manager, and while I think she as an individual can be a nice person, I do not believe she was ready to take on the responisbilites needed for this position and will not take ownership of her own mistakes.I was shown video of an incident involving employeemisconduct towards an animal, and when I informed the management of it, Ashley (the GM) informed me of a different story then what I witnessed. That employee is still working there.I have other reasons for leaving, but the unpunished mistreatment of one of your furried friends was the last straw.I am sorry to say this, but I would strongly suggesting thinking deeply about going to this location with the current GM.She can be a nice person, but she is not ready to run this store. If any of you as clients has experienced dissasfaction with something you have experienced in recent weeks, please contact Brian and Dean to collaborate what the negative reviews have stated because the current management is telling the owners that all negative reviews are from disgruntled employees, and I don't believe that is the case after my own experience.I genuinely care for the animals that I took care of, and would like to see Brian and Dean succeed but I left because I do not believe the current situation is healthy. That can only change with your direct input to Brian and Dean.UPDATE- Brian and Dean did infact reach out to me.They do care about the animals and their business.Again, if you are able to, try to reach out to them personally if you have concerns.

As another reviewer posted a few weeks ago, I hate to say it, but my rating is dropping of this location. It has become very clear in the past few weeks that there have been internal changes going on. The new manager, while still getting to know people, is not like the old manager in her demeaner or leadership. The cleanliness of the facility is not nearly up to where it used to be by a long shot. I am in the janitorial industry, and one major reason I started using this location was, when you walked in, you didn't smell anything. It was clean and well kept. My dog didn't come home smelling like she had been in a kennel all day and now she does. I have a reputable kennel 2 miles from my home, but I won't go there because of the smell and instead I choose to drive 12 miles to use The Dog Stop. But when you walk in the front door and smell urine, you have a problem and it needs to be fixed quickly.Blaise kept the building in excellent condition. She was thoughtful and helpful at every turn. While she was there from sun up to down, she always had a warm smile and made you feel comfortable about leaving our pup. The same goes for Amberlie (spelling?), she always is helpful and seems to care so much. There were always at least two people in the play rooms at all times, but when I check the pup cams, there have been many times when I dont see anyone in the room and the dogs are all at the gate barking.Things are not going in the right direction with this management change, and I hope that they can turn things around quickly. And if there is anyway to get Blaise back.. DO IT!

We took Atlas our 6 month old Siberian Husky to get her first fingernail grinding today. We had no appointment but called ahead to see if someone there was available. When we got there, the worker at the front desk bent down and talked to Atlas. She was really nice and friendly. She took her in right away and less than 15 minutes, she was brought out and ready to go home.Prices are reasonable. We paid $15.00.We will definitely return for their other services

With having to be in office three days a week now and Enzo being a high energy dog, we knew we needed to find a place for him while we were in office. We were nervous trying doggy daycare, the first place we took Enzo they told us he was too shy and they wouldn’t work with him. However, while searching the internet we came across The Dog Stop - Carnegie. We called them asking a whole bunch of questions and just based off the phone conversation we knew they would be the perfect fit. They worked with Enzo and texted us updates on how he was doing. Enzo loves hanging out with his dog and human friends (he knows when it’s daycare days and he cannot wait to see everyone). We could not be more grateful for the team there! We will always recommend them to people searching for a good doggy daycare!!

This place used to hold a great reputation of being clean, with friendly and knowledgeable staff that treats dogs well. That changed with the new manager from the strip district. The strip district location has always been poorly run. Now, this place is a disaster as well, with most of the experienced staff quitting due to the unclean, unsafe environments. I will never take a dog here again. There is no excuse for the lack of accountability.

I had not owned a dog in many many years so I was unsure where I wanted to go for a simple nail grinding. My dog is anxious and I obviously want it done right. I went to numerous places and had some awful experiences from pretty bad bleeds, jagged nails that hurt myself and kids, placing my dog on broken equipment etc. never consistent. I found dog stop when they opened and I love them. My dogs both will go back with employees when usually they drag their bodies. They are friendly and care about each animal. They do a phenomenal job and I would not go anywhere else

This is the first time that I have ever felt the need to edit a review so bear with me. I have taken both of my dogs to TDS Carnegie since nearly the beginning of their opening. I loved this place, and felt comfortable leaving my dogs in their care. Like many, my dogs are like children to me and I would do anything for them including spending thousands of dollars per year for daycare, boarding, toys, and treats at TDS. The last few months have seen a stark change here though. Ever since the original manager, Blaise, has left there has been a dwindling of the original staff that knew and loved my dogs. My youngest shepherd who worked through anxiety issues with the help of the tds staff is now acting fearful when entering the building and rushes to leave. He went from being on camera all day at daycare playing to only being seen a couple of times, and when my wife and I ask we are told he is being kenneled "due to short staffing". I have to think this is contributing to his behavioral changes, and wonder why I am paying for my dogs to be in daycare only to have them kenneled 80% of the day? I used to look forward to texts from staff about how they were doing while boarding, now I get attempts to sell me additional services for my dogs. The friendly staff that used to greet my dogs, wife, and myself like old friends has been replaced by a revolving door of people that don't seem to know us or our dogs despite being there 3 to 5 days a week. It breaks my heart to write this because I entrusted them for so long with my dogs, and now I worry about them. Previously, I was happy to pay for a premium service because of the care that my dog's received, instead, I feel like we are now getting subpar service at best. It pains me to leave TDS Carnegie because I loved the level of care and convenience that they once offered, but due to the management changes I feel I have no choice but to go elsewhere.
