The staff is knowledgeable to the animals they care for. The fish were lively and I was treated well after a terrible experience elsewhere. I had a few questions they answered in detail and I feel confident about caring for my new pet.

this place is very very overcrowded, dirty, and smells bad. The hamsters, and other rodents are not in proper cages. (Like most places). They have about 8 bunnies in one cage with no room for them to play. It looks like it hasn’t been swept or mopped in three years. I do not recommend supporting or buying anything from here.

Great pet store good selection of fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds and small mammals super nice employees who make sure you will be taking proper care of the animals you’re taking home.

Smells quite bad. Bird and rodent cages dirty and very overcrowded. Aquaria filthy, many long-dead fish. Bettas in especially bad condition. Selling lethargic doodle puppies. Matted, dirty adult doodle is shop dog. Staff do not know what the fish are, nor basic products. Prices high.I dip in here every few years to see if it has improved. Never does.

Went in here to see if I could find a few things for my iguanas new enclosure. I know this place is a little more pricey than the big name pet stores but some of the prices were just ridiculous. Couldn't find anything I liked and as I was on the way out of the store I stopped to look at their iguanas and there was a dead one in the tank and you could tell it had been there quite some time as it's eyes had sunk into its head. Some of the other cages were in rough shape and couple of the long timer birds could really use some TLC. I used to beg my mom to take me into this place when I was a kid just to see all the animals and it's so disappointing to see the shape it's in today.

I only was in the front part of the store to buy a dog sweater, but it was very obviously cluttered and dirty. I couldn’t breathe while inside because the odor emanating from the animal cages was so strong that it made my eyes water, throat burn, and it gave me a mild headache. I know that there will always be an odor with pet stores, but this was so bad that I couldn’t be bothered to look at anything else and get out as quickly as possible.

Planned on having to go to petco after visiting this small business but I could not have been more wrong. I went in wanting a new beta aquarium and all the bells and whistles to go with it. The woman was such a great help and could answer every question I had with additional information as well. Definitely going back for more plants and more aquatic friends.

I usually love small independent pet shops, not this one. I ahve to agree with other reviews, that this place is pretty disgusting. The aquariums are extremely dirty. The photo attached is one of the cleaner ones I saw. Way to much inventory, looks like a hoarder situation. Way overpriced. I get a small business will be more expensive but those stuff was double the cost at a Petco. I couldn't even tell where the checkout was because there was so much stuff. Cages on top of cages of animals. Seems like this could be a great spot if they clean up, organize, take better care of the animals.

The warm-blooded animals and reptiles looked healthy enough considering their small-caged circumstances, but despite those enclosures being a temporary home for them it’s just cruel and disturbing to see animals piled on top of each other in order to avoid sleeping on top of their own fecal piles…The chinchillas were especially stacked atop one another, as pictured. Four chinchillas in a cage smaller than the single chinchilla enclosure at PetCo… Not cool. I can’t imagine chinchillas are sold daily, so who knows how long they have lived like this? Some of the fish tanks were impossible to see into due to the thick green algae and grayish dirt on the inside of the tank. Fish looked sickly as well. When reviewing, I take staffing into account. There were at least five employees working at the store in the time I was there. Two sitting on the floor stocking supplies, one floating around the store, one at the register, and one who seemed to be doing whatever needed picked up in between. There’s no excuse for the tanks and enclosures to be that filthy when there are at least five employees at the store at once.Floors? I don’t care. It’s a pet store. It won’t be spick and span. But the enclosures? No.I appreciated the store’s variety in both animals and products, but due to the obvious neglect of the animals I will refrain from shopping here.I can’t believe I’d ever prefer PetCo over a small business… this was just despicable.EDIT: The in-store pet dogs are sweet, though. Especially the golden retriever.

Very helpful people and you don't have to pay for bags after you spend hundreds of dollars like petco...they will even special order what you need..

Not a bad place to get supplies for fish and reptiles but I wouldn't suggest buying any fish from here. I've had decent luck with invertebrates like snails and shrimp and also plants. As for the actual fish, this is the third time I brought home a fish only to find that it has ich. I know an occasional hitchhiker is unavoidable but it's been happening too much from here.

Breaks my heart to go in here. The cages and tanks are SO small and dirty. The poor birds and reptiles and hamsters are cramed in the tiniest of cages. The fish tanks are beyond dirty and have tons of dead fish in them. The price are about tripled compared to big pet stores. Blows my mind they are still in business. Very dirty and stinky and cluttered store.

I was really upset to see that their Labradoodle Guss was pretty matted and had very long nails it made me wonder how they’re caring for the pets they’re selling when their own dog is in desperate need of a grooming, matting is painful for the dog and very bad for the skin and long nails cause joint problems. Please go see a groomer regularly it’s butler they’re not far :(

The first time I went there I had the young man and he was very helpful and I bought a lot of glow fish and a big castle and a few pretty neon color rubber plants then I went back bought more glow fish for our 55 gallon tank and the second time I bought more glow fish and three that was left in with the same tank as my glow fishes he said they were glow sharks. Then I went back a third time had a young girl help me, I bought 4 angel fishes and 7 neon fishes and she told me they would all be ok in with my other fishes. Well I put them all in the tank next morning the so called glow sharks ate all my neons 7 of them and 3 of my angel fishes,,,, bill was $386.00 I called them up they didn’t care and I went to petco they told me the three glow sharks I showed them a picture and told them what happened they said they weren’t glow sharks and showed me a real glow shark what they sold me was 3 trouts!!! Really I am very upset. Don’t buy there.

Large amounts of fish, reptiles, birds, arachnids, and supplies. However, the tanks needed maintenance badly and the store smelled awful of animals. I understand that pet stores are going to smell like animals but there is a difference between a pet store smell and an unkept store, similar to if you've been in a home with far too many animals and not enough cleanup. The store also had items strewn about making certain areas impassable. To be fair, maybe they had just received a shipment of supplies but my Spidey sense is telling me it's been a while since anyone put things away. Back to the fish for one last disclaimer, while they tanks looked awful for the most part the water may have been perfectly fine for them. But when the tanks are unsightly and not maintained I'm not willing to risk it.

Short portion: Dirty and overstocked cages and tanks, very cluttered, unfair pricing, and not professional employees. Not coming back.Long portion:After coming in for the first time, I'm not sure I want to come back. The store had an incredibly strong odor, which an odor is usual, but definitely not that strong. All of the cages of these animals look unkempt and dirty, overstocked, and you could tell some animals were unhappy. The fish tanks were covered in algae, some to the point where you couldn't see the fish in them. There were dead fish everywhere, and upon looking at the bettas, I found two dead and the rest is poor condition water. The prices for supplies are overpriced and not worth your time when you could purchase them cheaper online. Furthermore it was very difficult to walk through the store, like you had to follow a guided path and that's it. When I brought the dead fish up front, the cashier was unprofessional and said some profanities to what I assuming was the frustration of dead fish. It was a very upsetting experience to see these poor animals suffer. Would not reccomend.

Been shopping here for a while and unfortunately the place has gone done hill. Nice staff and decent selection of aquarium accessories but everything is way overpriced. When I've went there the past few months the tanks have looked liked they weren't being taken care of and there's usually a couple dead / sick fish in each tank. In particular the fancy goldfish were all on the bottom of the tank gasping for oxygen and the giant cichlids below them were motionless on the bottom of the tank with their fins clamped shut. I feel bad for all those poor fish and unfortunately the girlfriend and I are probably not going to shop there anymore because of the poor aquarium upkeep. Doesn't help the store is so cluttered and unorganized so good luck if you're trying to find something in particular.

I recently purchased 3 Dalmatian mollies and 2 African dwarf frogs and 1 yellow mystery snail. The shop as a lot of inventory and the fish have acclimated well to my established tank. The prices are average for a locally owned store. Their staff is also very knowledgeable and kind.I’ve seen others post on the conditions and sizes of the tanks. Yes, they are small however they are not meant to be their forever homes and it is meant to be a temporary means of storage for them. The tanks are also clean! The algae you see in the tanks is a good sign of a healthy ecosystem in the tanks. They do not have a full on algae bloom going on either, just your average amount. They have my business for life.

I recently bought a large and beautiful Pidgeon Blood Discus from this store. It, and the several others, were healthy and well cared for. The young man that waited on was very kind and helpful. I would definitely shop at this store again.

UGH! MANY dead fish in the tanks that have obviously been dead for a while. There were many more clearly sick fish. I felt so bad for the ones that were still hanging on, I doubt they will actually get treatment. This store was so cluttered it was hard to find anything. Stuff just piled up in isles and on the floors. Lots of things covered in dust. Who knows how long this stuff has been sitting around. They did have a filter part that no one else had in stock but it was priced twice the usual cost. I bought it because I needed it now but I will never be back to this filthy place.

They were very friendly and knowledgeable about all the animals in their care. The animals look well taken care of. I also liked that they didn't sell me something that wouldn't work for my family just to make money. They let us know how big the turtles would get and we knew that would be too large. So, they said that they would call around and see if they can get the type of turtle that would become our new family member. They took a lot of time to explain to us the difference between the turtles and that was a great help. I would recommend a visit if you're looking for an animal or need anything for your pet.

This place is very dirty and cluttered. I feel sorry for the animals as they are in too small of cages. I went to look at the Beta Fish and 5 were dead. 6 appeared to be suffering and on the verge of dying. The cups the fish were in were filthy. After this, I still purchased a fish who was very hungry and sickly when I brought him home. Aquarium rocks had about 2 inches of dust on the bags. The smell is horrible inside the store. Prices are very high and outrageous. The staff is very rude and unwilling to help customers. They just lost my business.

Pets in the park is such a sweet little place. Their fish selection is HUGE & I’d rather buy my crickets from them instead of Petco. The employees are super helpful too. Support small businesses! ❤️

First, I just want to state that this is not for the business itself and I do not want any comments from them because I have seen rude comments after others post their review. I am not the one to normally complain about anything, but one thing I do not stand for and rude people and neglected animals/fish. First, my friend recently bought fish from there. I thought is was a great place because the young kid was super nice. My friend bought her fish and took them home. Now ignoring all the bad comments on google; I thought that I would give them a try because they were nice to my friend. I was looking at the Axolotls for a while, but I waited and spent so much money to make sure that my tank is ready. If anyone does research or watches videos on them, then you would know that they have to be in cold water, like 60 degrees and they can only be in a tank with certain plants. Such as java fern. I went in there and asked if they had chillers, the guy told me that they are so expensive to bring in for people to buy. I completely understand that, but I asked him what they use in their tanks; one thing that disgusts me is when something is super essential and yet people don't care. You dont need to sell them, but atleast keep your axolotl tank below 70. I did not need to ask my next question, which was why are the little axies floating at the top and look dead. When they are in warmer water, it slows down their movement and makes them sick. Then, I went in for a plant, and they one lady was super rude. Talked to me like i was so stupid, then tries telling me that you can put any plant in with an axie. Cats can not even eat certain plants, so what makes you thing that axolotls can. Now, lastly they lady sold me worms have him eat, making it sound like anything else that i feed him is wrong. I fed him one yesterday, and he spit it up. Fed him another one and this time I wanted to watch him eat it, he swallowed it and them 2 minutes later he threw it up. That was the most tramatizing thing i have seen, and I called a rescue that specializes in axies and she told me to feed him bloodworms because they are smaller. I felt like I was bothering someone to just ask for help and it's ashame that you have to call someone else because you feel like the people there are gonna judge you. Now update on my friends fish, the ones she bought died. In result the others she didnt buy there died and she has one left. I feel bad for even suggesting we go here, and I honestly feel a bit scammed. Sorry that this is so long, but I hope that it helps.
