Conveniently located in downtown Butler, close to many other businesses. Great selection from pet supplies to housewares. Decently priced and usually a quick checkout. The staff is for the most part indifferent,as I suppose can be expected. All in all a very decent store.

The opener can never open the door on time!!!! There's a girl who is there for orientation today who I'm sure would love to be a key holder! Put him on a later shift or get rid of him! Every couple of mornings there's 10-15 people waiting an hour to get in! Hire me! And I'll do the job correctly!

Good selection of merchandise, but the customers are sometimes pretty scary at this particular location. I watched a woman who had a bowel movement in her pants, had feces on her hands after literally reaching into her pants and then was touching things on the shelves. This is just one of many stories of the type of people Ive run into at this store. This is not the fault of the business itself, I think its just the location.

I was very unhappy with my visit to this store. It used to be a daily occurence for me to stop at this store. I would talk with the staff and spend at least a half hour to an hour on a visit. It was well kept and you would want to returnThis visit when i walked into the store the smell was disgusting. The floor was in such a shambles . The shelves were in bad shape. I just couldnt believe the difference. The stolen merchandise containers left on the shelf. The one worker didnt seem to care about anything but whomever was on her phone. She was rude, not helpful, nor Knowledgable about her store or she just didnt care. I was very ashamed for Dollar General. But until things get better again i will be going to the dollar store down by Gabes.

The price is always right at Dollar General. The atmosphere, not so much. They have a little bit of everything, except for fresh produce (fruit and vegetables), from office supplies to underwear to pet food to home furnishings, and a decently sized pantry selection.

I'm able to find the things that I need quick I have the Dollar General app which helps me take money off when things are on sale because you have to use the digital coupons. As long as they have both cash registers open then things seem to run pretty smooth, and for being right downtown a lot of their prices are pretty close to Walmart's not all of them but I'd say close to half of them so for me it's pretty convenient.

Absolutely love Dollar General on North Main Street in Butler, PA! Most of the employees are so friendly and very helpful especially a girl by the name of Joe. She always greets the customers, helps me when I need help as I'm handicapped and in a wheelchair. When you leave the store she always tells you to have a nice day or evening.

This store is crazy. I went in to buy a large large bag of dog food. And also shampoo and conditioner. The expensive kind. I stood in line for a 20minutes. Just one lady on the register. Felt bad for her actually. So the other lady opened her side up. I cash out and all I had was a $100 bill. This lady yelled at me she said and I'm truly honest she said " we can't take that. I don't have change for that crape claiming that being on main street they didn't have change. Okay it's a super busy store. Why no change. Well I needed change finally after 15 minutes of her being rude.she went to the office and came out with change?? Seriously I could understand if I was buying just gum or something but my order came to $31.76 and she was rude because I had a $100 bill. She needs to be fired. I drive the extra 4 miles to the other dollar general. I don't recommend this dollar general to anyone!!

This dollar general is absolutely terrible they are advertised to close at 10pm but they close earlier than that all the time 5-8 mins early I was there once they closed at 9:50pm. This is not ok to do if you suppose to close at 10pm then that's the time you close. They're many times people need to get something real quick before closing but can't because the employees here think they can close whenever they want.

I love having this so close to home! It saves you a ton of gas money instead of running to Walmart. Its within walking distance for so many and the only food store in town. The outside entranceway needs some cleaning and some better lighting. The inside has improved tremendously!! The new management and staff have whipped it into shape and there isn’t stuff laying all over the floor anymore (although the floors could use swept and mopped occasionally). They also are very friendly and will help find things or answer questions.

Came in this morning about 9am wanting to get me some hygiene and laundry detergent to do laundry. Nope NOT today cause almost everything essential in that Butler Co Dollar General is atleast $5.00 When did Dollar General start having prices like Wal-Mart ? ? ? Everything $5.00 IT'S RIDICULOUS YALL

Unclean, workers very slow with a line stretching halfway back the store, one register open while the other employee was outside smoking. The only dollar store I've been to that had a half our wait in line at the register. Employee kept ringing up the same item at the wrong price and had to zero out the whole purchase and start over for one customer, another customer he did not give any change to and insisted he gave her the change until 3 of us in line told him that he did not, so they had to review the camera footage and them call the general manager to have something done about it because he couldn't just give the woman 2 dollars for some reason. On top of all of this he had an attitude like we ruined his day by shopping and making him work. I won't even get into the uncomfortable way he was looking at young children in line with their parent.

Main Street store feels cluttered and confusing. Maneuvering through is not easy. Has that creepy vibe from a combination of bad lighting and a desperate need for a remodel.The people working there were really nice this time! Dollar General always seems to have a pretty high turnover rate

Great workers, great prices. Wish some wouldn't be as much as they are considering it's a discount store for people who can't shop at Walmart and rite aid all the time. Jus wish they would cut back on their prices & have more online digital coupons. People like to save!

The lady who cashed me out was truly a snobby women. All because I had a 100$ bill. I bought expensive dogfood and she gets an attitude because that's all I had. Her words and I quote "we are on Main street we don't have that much change" For one its Main Street very busy road. So therefore get some more money. She was rude. Everyone there is very rude.

Terrible visit! I hate this store to begin with,it is dirty and always out of stuff. Not sure anyone there knows how to order. This visit I stood at the register with another gentleman for at least 10 mins while cashier talked with a friend and shared pics on cell phones with each other. How this chain continues to grow is beyond me. Poor service and rising prices.... cheaper to go to Walmart

Employees do the bare minimum here. Open till 10pm but the employees lock the doors 15 to 20 minutes early so they don’t have to do their jobs.

nothing particularly great or bad about this store. its a typical dollar store. but my question is why go here when theres a dollar tree (everything is actually $1) or a five below right down at the next plaza? im not sure how they stay competitive.

Every experience is bizarre and managers are extremely rude. They don't know any of the policies the managers. Amy was extremely rude and vulgar. I can't believe that they put people in maagment positions when they donr have the slightest idea how things work

I wish they also would carry more low cal and fresh food items. Most of their food is high sugar and/or salt, there is usually only a handfull of diet pop available ( off a whole shelf of sugar saturated pops), there are shelves of candy, chips, cookies, etc and less than a handfull of low sugar/salt types. Darn news keep hyping on obesity, but nobody watches the junk they offer in small-town stores! A truck load of food comes in and if we’re lucky about 6 yogurts on it! Frozen veggies: 6 bags of peppers and onions, broccholi, corn ea.! If you’re real lucky you’ll get a pack...However when it comes to other household items they may not be as cheap as Walmart, but halfway reasonably priced for a small town store ( the price difference often being that of the bus fare to and from Butler Commons).

I infrequently shop at Dollar General, and I visited this location in downtown Butler only once, but I felt pleased with the selection of products, the prices, and the cashier’s service.

You know what you're getting at a $1 store, cheap stuff that doesn't last long but for some items you don't need quality you need quantity or disposable. Using their app does save you some money if you search through the coupons.

Being where I live there are very few stores to shop at considering i have to walk and Dollar General carries everything from food to cleaning products plus personal care! It really helps to have them within the area of walking distance and a one stop shop!

Nice but don't go there if u have to get alot of stuff because your not allowed to take a cart out and bring it back in because some people have stole some i guess so dont go a grab alot of stuff because you'll have to leave some in the store and come back for it and hope no one stole your stuff.

Everything about this store is good like the location, the prices, friendly & very helpful staff if u need something but can't find it they'll go find it, most places like this 1 just tell u what aisle to go to but these employees will stop what they're doing to assist u & they'll do it without attitude or ignorance.

Dollar General on Main Street, mid-town Butler serves the community well. Can't beat the prices which helps maintain competitive pricing everwhere. Paying attention to ingredients of food products demonstrates that DG Corp is at least somewhat conscious of the importantance of maintaining a healthy diet. Beyond food there is a huge selection of other general need household products. A general summary for a General store.
