Understand, i go to this place for the hot dogs, with chili! If you don't like their chili dogs, I probably wouldn't go. But if you are like me and love their chili, you put it on the fries also 😋! Admittedly some people like gravy on the fries, but give the chili a try you'll never go back to gravy. I have to be honest I have never ordered anything but the dogs, the other food might be great, but the dogs are why I go.

Stumbled upon this hidden gem by accident and I was very pleased with the stop!Extremely friendly staff and service - they brought the food right to me when it was ready!The hot dogs were delicious - perfectly steamed bun, good snap to the dog, I got one cheese and one chili both had amazing flavor.AND CRINKLE CUT FRIES!! Like, good ones too.Anyway, definitely a great spot to fill your stomach and not empty your wallet!

I tried the fish sandwich here because a friend suggested it. It was big and was less expensive than the competition here in Butler. This is a real fish sandwich. Not a frozen, processed fish patty but a real fillet. You can tell it was fried in clean oil unlike others I have tried.The dining area is small but I'd rather eat this kind of food at home anyway.This isn't a fast food joint, so unless you're getting hot dogs don't expect to be in and out of here quickly. Calling ahead would probably be a good idea.

The Butler Dog House is carrying on the tradition of the Butler Hot Dog Shoppe. By no means is this a restaurant that would rival Ruth's Chris, but for a tasty, quick lunch this is a great place.Try a dog with chili, onion, and pickle. Get gravy on your fries. Yes, the gravy and the chili might be dripped on the bun or tray. If that's the worst thing that happens to you, you're doing well. In fancy restaurants, they drizzle sauce across the sushi and onto the plate. It's character. The staff seems a bit gruff, but they are all great, hard-working people. They are there to serve yummy food...and they succeed at that.

I live in Altoona now. Grew up and worked on Main St. Butler and always ate at the original hot dog shop. This shop is pretty good. I always head here first when we come to visit family and always pick up 3 hot dog sauce containers to go. One for our boy. Who also loves the sauce (same as the original) like me. So I enjoy the hot dogs I make for the next several months with chopped onions and pickles added. Yum, yum 👍😊

Called today to put in an order at 7:00 (Online says they close at 7:30) They answered and said they close at 6:30 and couldn't take our order. Disappointed in the customer service because they were extremely rude and I have been here before and liked the food.

Great service, and food was amazing. Got the steak hoagie and it was perfectly seasoned and a huge portion. Husband got a burger, 2 dogs and onion rings all delicious. Very satisfied with everything we got and will be returning.

Great place to get your hot dog fix. They also have burgers, hot sausage sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, and an awesome Fish sandwich. The fries are awesome, you can get orange gravy, chilli, cheese, pickles,. Onions, sour kraut, ETC.many bottled drinks to choose from ( soda, water milk chocolate, ETC). The staff are wonderful friendly and helpful. I drive from eastern NC 646 miles one way to eat there when visiting Butler PA. I just stopped there 3 time on my last visit to Butler on 6-14 thru 27-2023. It was awesome. I love the fish sandwich, it's the best I have ever had. Hope to see y'all in sept. I love the restaurant and staff.Parking: Large parking lot for the plaza. Handicap parking and access .Wheelchair accessibility: There is handicap parking and access.

This place maybe small, but the food is delicious. I am never disappointed when I come here, and neither is my son. The chili sauce is the original recipe from the hot dog shop that used to exist.

Very underwhelming experience. The man working in the front was super cranky, our food was soggy, cheese was all over our boxes, and slow service. The only thing that tasted fresh were the French fries. I would not recommend.

I almost always love the chill dogs from here. This time it seemed like the hot dogs were barley cooked. The inside of the hot dog was at best slightly warm. Dog sauce was about the same. Very disappointed. This was on a Tuesday @ 11:30 am. Dog shop you need better quality control.
