After four years and over seventy thousand worth of business exchanged between, us Al Trimpey decided to attempt to steal from us. We were always polite and professional, understanding when accidents happened on the job; when he couldn’t get to us right away, we had no problems scheduling out months in advance, if we ever needed an emergency job complete, we would often pay extra without even a request for the money.He was invited to our home for parties and treated as a family friend despite bigoted behavior (we believe everyone deserves a chance to change.)We became so trusting of Als expertise that we stopped checking invoices or getting competing bids. A common house hold joke was “In Al we trust.”, we even had an “Al list” of jobs.We were having windows installed in our home, the contractor who performed our install, offered to take care of our doors for us on account of how good of a working relationship we developed. We said, “Sorry, but Als our guy he is coming to take care of us.” The gentleman who was installing the windows inquired about the cost for the doors as he saw the invoice. He said, “You are being over changed, you should check your prices.” And left it at that.Upon an audit of the labor and materials we found the identical door from the same store costs $800.00 dollar less. When we inquired to Al about the discrepancy he said, “Those are my prices, and if you don’t like them you don’t have to do business with me.” After this he dodged our phone calls and refused further inquiries in this matter. Even afterwards, we tried to move on from this and request a couple new estimates on repairs and he was responsive at first, then dodged us.Upon further auditing we found other discrepancies.It is my opinion that he found other higher paying work, and instead of being a mature adult and addressing this with us, or scheduling further out, he attempted to overcharge us in a sense to justify his time.The sad thing is if he would have brought this to our attention, we would have been happy to compensate him for his labor, were we to find it fair or reasonable. The conversation is what needed to happen, instead he will go down in our circle as little more than a petty thief.

Al installed 3 oak bedroom doors and baseboard for us and we are very pleased! He stained and applied polyurethane to everything prior to installation. He ran into a problem during installation in that the casing widths were not uniform but he came up with a perfect fix! Al is an excellent carpenter and we will definitely hire him again!

Al did 3 jobs for us. He power washed and sealed the front porch and steps, took down an old kitchen fixture and put up a new LED fixture and rescreened the back porch. Al provided precise and reasonable estimates. We were completely satisfied with all the work Al did for us and will use him for future jobs without hesitation.

Allan has helped me with several projects - some examples are custom jamb on interior door, Kitchen cabinetry work (rebuilding/refacing cabinet/drawer), building a custom cabinet to replace where my dishwasher used to be and updating some bathroom valves. He does excellent work and I can't be more happy with the final outcome. Can't wait to have more of my projects in the future finished with his workmanship!

Allen made me a replacement leaf for a 100+ yr old table that had belonged to my great grandmother. He matched the wood and stain color perfectly. His work is impeccable. He is easy to deal with and cost was reasonable. I'd use him again in a heartbeat.
