We continue to come to Kanyon's Golden Veterinary Care because Dr. Cyr is consistent in her practice & the quality care she provides for our "fur babies" is above all others! Her extensive knowledge, use of both conventional veterinary medicine and Traditional Chinese Veterinary medicine, are definitely what allows her to be the best! After moving out of state (and not being able to find anywhere near the same quality of care where we currently live) we continue to travel back to Brodheadsville to assure our "kids" are getting properly treated. I needed to be seen last minute and wasn’t a patient and they fit me in and Dr. Cyr spent time with me after the vet was closed and most importantly my puppy. She took her time with her and was amazing. She’s a great mix between holistic and western medicine and I appreciate the time she took with me and my dog to make sure everything was okay with my new baby. I look forward to going back in the future and can’t recommend her enough and already have to all my friends looking to switch vets.

Dr. Cyr is a wonderful caring knowledgeable veterinarian. We had previously taken our dog to another vet that missed his ear infection and didn't fully shave around his hot spots in order for them to heal properly. She did a thorough exam, discovered the underlying reason he had the hot spots, properly shaved him, gave us appropriate medication as well as home care instructions to help him heal. You get what you pay for and Dr. Cyr's knowledge, education and experience is well worth paying for in order to treat our pets when needed and help us keep them healthy.

Since starting with Dr. Cyr & the staff at Kanyon's, we have been overjoyed to see our dogs getting along again. After a scary fight our 2 females had, we were sure we would have to let one of them go. After visiting with Dr. Cyr, she recommend we start both food therapy and herbal medications for our dogs. This was something completely new to us & to be honest, we weren't sure it would help. We are VERY PLEASED to say that after just few short weeks, all 4 of our dogs(2 males as well) are getting along wonderfully. It is such a joy to have all 4 dogs being able to play together & for our children to not be scared something terrible is going to happen. We've been with several other vets over the years & the care we have received in these few short months has been amazing. She has taken the time to listen to my phone calls & concerns & she has won over my dogs for sure. Her holistic approach was refreshing and although new to us has certainly been a miracle in keeping our whole family together.

If I could rate a ZERO I would. I took my dog in for a routine spaying yet the experience was anything but routine. The vet "nicked" her spleen during the surgery which then required a larger incision and longer healing time. I had to monitor my dogs gums to make sure she had no internal bleeding. The vet also but a LARGE "tattoo" on my dog that I never gave permission for. I feel it was completely unnecessary and quite frankly ugly on a short haired white dog. It was red and inflammed and caused more pain. Given the choice I would have definitely opted out. This vet also charges Double what any other place charged for the spaying which I would have been fine with had the quality of care matched the cost. While my dog was under anesthesia the vet said she would clip her nails and clean her ears which I thought she meant would be included since the spaying was $650.00 yet on the invoice I was charged for it all. Several of her nails had blood spots where they had clearly cut the quick. Poor quality all around! I would NOT recommend this clinic at all if you love your animal.

Dr. Cyr was my vet for many years. I spent thousands of dollars with her. Probably in excess of 10k. But I have multiple dogs and she has continually raised her prices to where she is by far the most expensive vet in the area. Probably 50% more expensive on most basic stuff like exams and vaccines. She charges $5 less for an office exam than what my own primary care doctor bills my health insurance company when I go to see him. So I had to make the difficult decision to transfer to a new vet as the vet bills were just getting to be too much to handle.I have a 13 year old dog with early onset dementia. He is on a bunch of meds, including a sedative. He is almost out of that sedative, so yesterday after I informed Dr. Cyr we would be transferring vets (I was there with one of my other dogs) I asked if she could refill that sedative so he doesn't run out. Her response? Nope, you are inactive and I can't fill meds for an inactive patient. What vet would be that spiteful as to put a dogs health at risk, rather than refill a script she has been prescribing for quite some time until I am able to establish him with the new vet? That showed me her true colors and reinforced to me I made the right decision to transfer vets. Thankfully the new vet actually cares about his health and well-being and is getting him in first thing the beginning of the week as he can not function without the sedative. It's a key medicine in the treatment of his dementia.

I would never trust another vet with my fur babies. She is very knowledgeable in conventional and holistic methods. Our babies are older with health issues but thanks to Dr. Cyr they run and play like much younger dogs. Thank you Dr. Cyr for always being there for us.

My mother, who is a client of yours, called yesterday to say that she thought her dog was going into cardiac arrest. She was informed that you had too many appointments that day and couldn't see the dog until tomorrow. Although we are not a client, we rushed the dog to Brodheadsville Veterinary Clinic, where they worked immediately on saving him. After performing CPR, we opted to have him put to sleep. Hours later we received a call from your clinic asking how he was. When we informed the girl that he had died, she proceeded to tell us that we could bring him in and have him cremated for a substantial fee. Are you kidding me? From past visits to your clinic, you are obviously all about the money. If you really cared, you would have let us bring him. Maybe he could have been saved if you weren't so busy. We are very disappointed and heart-broken. I will never recommend you to anyone I know. Maybe you will remember why you became a vet in the first place, and be a little understanding in an emergency situation.

Dr. Kristine Cyr has been amazing with teaching my family all about holistic regimens for better pet health! Our Shih tzu JD has been on herbals for some time to help his ears, and pulse points! Ben our forever feline love bug is 17 yrs old, Ben gave us such a scare because he couldn't walk, his hind legs and sciatica were giving him difficult time. Dr. Cyr started Ben on acupuncture , radiant heat therapy and herbals and what a difference! He is walking, jumping and acting like a cat again! I would recommend holistic medicine for all pets! (And antibiotics when necessary) Ben was being treated for chronic sinusitis and here to find out after hundreds of dollars spent on antibiotics, he had a warm heat deficiency in his body that herbals could help! If you have a special fur baby and you want the best care, please reach out to Dr. Kristine Cyr! She is fabulous and caring! The best part is....its not all about the money where she is concerned, she just wants the best for your special fur baby :) Thank you Dr. Cyr for taking such good care of all us!

More than a vet, Dr Cyr focuses on holistic maintenance care. She explains everything to me so that I can continue care at home. I wish I had known her years ago when my pug was diagnostic with pancreatitis.

Disappointed. Unfortunately I cannot review the actual services. I recently moved to the area and have three dogs. I called for an appointment, but the girl who answered the phone was not very accommodating. I have my dogs on the same shot schedules, so when I called to set up an appointment to get their shots updated, she would not give me an appointment for all three dogs on the same day. I was expected to bring each dog on a different day -- meaning I would have to take time off from work on three different days! Unfortunately, that does not work for me, so I will need to go elsewhere.

Horrible experience. Wish I had asked around before going here. I don't know anyone personally who has had a good experience.Edit: the phone call I made was to request money back for a service that I was not going to use from the owner and she refused. When I wouldn't back down she hung up on me. Her "emergency service" for my cat was a joke and I went to another vet who I remain with to this day who ACTUALLY GAVE HER TREATMENT. At no point did I say I was satisfied with my visit on the phone when I called so that is an absolute lie. I never did get my money back.

I recently adopted a conure and noticed her nails were a bit long my regular vet doesn't see birds so I went online to look for a vet that would I came across kanyon's golden veterinary and looked through the website it said they saw to birds but when I called the woman who answered had told me they didn't. When I mentioned the website said they did she said she'd have to look at that. Why advertise that you see birds when you don't? Quite annoyed at the false advertising and wouldn't trust them with my other pets if they lie about which types of animals they can accept. Cats and dogs are not the only pets out there that need veterinary attention.
