If you want a home cooked meal, served by friendly staff and reasonable prices then go to the Bowmanstown Diner. This place is favored by locals and looks like a throw back to the 1950s. When your meal arrives, you will think mom is in the kitchen because you get a filling, ample meal. Save room for dessert because they have numerous offerings. The apple walnut cake is fabulous. I will be back.

What a nice local "old school" diner!The waitress was such fun and took time explaining some foods I didn't know...like "potato filling" and raisin pie!Our group had burgers, soup, salad, fried shrimp, and THE most delicious homestyle pies!!!!Blueberry, pumpkin, Boston cream, and blueberry...all amaaaazing!The hubby and I each had bacon cheeseburger, fries, onion rings, beverages, dessert and the bill was $44 plus tip. Worth every penny!!

Very unfriendly staff. Food was ok. Chicken salad was egg salad with some shredded chicken. The server did not want to be bothered with questions. Clearly we were not happy. Did not concern her. So it didn't concern me when she was left a less than average tip. Will not be back.

Stopped by for quick meal with friends, they suggested the hot roast beef with gravy on toast with a side of coleslaw. and mash potatoes , it great and ended up taking some home. Try to get there early since it gets crowded by others patrons who eat there daily. We're going back for breakfast this weekend. Prices are reasonable and the wait staff is good.

Food is great if you can deal with staff that don't smile. I like to go places where their happy I came. We went down there for Thanksgiving one time and instead of telling us nicely that you need to make reservations instead of the rude response we received. Thought we'd give it another shot but the waitresses don't seem to care that your there.I like pleasant waitresses not ones that ignore you and just want to go home.Example: I went to put cream in my coffee and it was empty. The waitresses waiting on us just walked away, didn't know if she seen it was empty. But the other waitress leaning on the counter seen me. She shook her head in disgust and rolled her eyes as she went to get some cream for me.Didn't say a word and just set it on the table.No smile, no here ya go sir. Her demeanor was as if she couldn't wait for everyone to leave. We didn't realize they closed as early as they did and it was time for them to go home. I understand long hard days but your customers should never be served without seeing a smile and being treated with respect. After all, We stopped there, they didn't come to us. They should be happy you made the decision to choose their establishment. That tip could have been someone else's.And it would have been bigger with friendlier service.Keep that in mind.Food is great.Wait staff needs a brushing up.I wouldn't be writing this if I seen one smile, or got a Thank You for stopping.Without those, it's not likely I'll be back.It sucks cause their food is always great.So if you can put up with waitresses that aren't happy to be there and have that job, then it won't bother you.But I myself want to deal with a friendly waitress that's happy your there.

Wonderful breakfast!! Great staff. I felt Really safe eating here the waitstaff kept busy cleaning. They checked back frequently and kept my coffee full.

Small chrome dinner, cash only, well known to locals. Has daily specials. Booths are a bit narrow and while technically handicap accessible, due to narrow aisles it isn't really practical for anyone in a wheelchair.

Normally this diner excell at presenting and delivering food and service to a top level performance. Today was not the case. Everyone has their off days and today it's Bowmantown diner off days. The guest I was with order a bacon egg n cheese sandwich and it looked like it came out of the garbage. Hopefully this is just a one off event.However it is very disappointing 😞

I'm so glad that we were not the only ones to get the sour puss waitress. Wow, talk about rude. No sooner were we seated she wanted to know what we wanted. Whoa we need to look at the menu first.When she finally came back and took our order it was like we were bothering her. Our food came out and I didn't even get what I ordered. I was served fried chicken, stuffing and coleslaw. I ordered cod and buttered corn with a side of perogies. When I stated I didn't order this she snapped at me.My husband ordered fries with gravy. He didn't get gravy; but, he sure got charged for it. I got my meal half way thru everybody else at our table eating theirs. Still got the wrong meal. Sad is all I can say.We never got our waitresses name. We never got refills and when she did check on our table is was while walking by. She said do you need anything..no..good. What you didn't even stop or let us reply.Never again!
