There’s a lack of any decent hobby shops in my area. I was on my way back to NY from Virginia, and veered off I-81 out of curiosity. What an amazing hidden gem. I mean absolutely amazing shop. Very well stocked, store is very clean, very well organized and found some hidden gems. There’s an extensive inventory of detail parts and such that most shops wouldn’t carry it was the best. The staff (Brian, Bonnie I believe) were super friendly and just the nicest people. I’ll Definetly stop by any time I’m near the area again.

One of the best hobby shops I've ever been to, ever. Fantastic selection of only the latest, greatest products, and usually good prices too, though there was a slight scanning error and I almost made a purchase of $307,000 work of trains (which, to be fair, is not too far off from reality). I just wish it was more centrally-located and transit-accessible, so that I could visit more often without committing single-occupant-vehicle climate-arson.

Everyone at this store is great! I always enjoy talking to the employees ans the owner is so knowledgeable about his products. The store is always stocked ans clean ans bright. It's so easy to spend tons of money because of these amazing employees that is there! I'm so glad I found this train store! A MUST see! I highly recommend!

We decided to stop in and see if the talk about "it is a great place for model railroaders" is true. Yup, it is true. First, the staff inside are quick to ask if you need help finding something, and they know what they are talking about. The product selection is amazing and I found plenty of supplies for my current table build. Prices were right inline with online BUT I don't have to wait for shipping AND I'm supporting a local business.Parking is right out front. The place is worth the drive. We'll be back.

I am new to the area and was driving around surveying the area and seen this place in passing. Decided to stop in as I am a big model railroad guy. This place is incredible. Well stocked and the selection was endless. Workers seemed engaging and friendly. Finally found a gravest supplier and only 15 min from the house.

It's not a bad store if your looking for HO or O gauge, altho N scale this is a lack of rolling stock out, a few engines can be found along with some decently priced decoders

Just moved to Waynesboro, PA last week. Surveyed the area for a respectable (train) hobby store and struck gold!!! My first visit was fortunate in that I was able to chat with the owner Brian for at least twenty minutes until other customers started arriving. He is very engaging, knowledgeable, and a great person to converse with about railroading.His store is a railroaders paradise and my only regret is that I didn't move here twenty years ago!

The absolute BEST model train store in the area. We’ve been shopping here for almost 8 years and they’ve always had such a large selection of items. The prices are relatively good considering everything is pretty much brand new. The staff have been very kind and helpful with repairs as well.

This place is one of the best. I drive from North Carolina once every three months just to go to this store (it's a six hour drive) their online ordering is just as good. Very knowledgeable staff. Don't forget to get a t-shirt

I frequented this shop in my youth, 25-30 years ago. While I have not been there recently, I still have fond memories of the staff - particularly Doug - who took time to teach me how to layout my own set and sandblast old paint off a train he was rebuilding. If I still lived in the area, this would be my go-to shop!

This is a great store with great people and fair prices. This store is out of my way but I always try to get there once a month and they are still on the border as a local shop to me.The staff is always available to help you and they treat you with respect. THEY CARE ABOUT THIER JOB!I like that they offer a little Veteran discount too, it makes me feel even more inclined to pass other shops to head here. They always have what I want (or get it for me).I recommend this store to all my friends and even diorama makers as they have a great selection of woodland scenics products.They have all the main scales of trains too. All in all, this place puts in the work to deserve your business.I'm probably the only guy in the area who models NJ Transit and they order products for me and even stock some too. This is one of the best model train shops in our area!

It is nice to have a hobby store for true artisan modelers. I make the hour trek from my home in Hunt Valley every month just to go here. They have good prices, a great inventory, and phenomenal staff.

Brian, Bonnie and the rest of the staff know the hobby and go out of their way to help you get the most out of your purchases. They do a great job with special orders and their inventory of details and parts means there’s seldom a trip there where you don’t find what you need. I refer to the place as a “treasure trove”.

One of the best model railroad hobby shops I have been too. Certainly there are larger and more famous ones but Mainline should not be forgotten. Also love the prices, some things cheaper here than all the discount online retailers, amazing considering they were in-store as opposed to online.

Lots of product especially for the HO and N scaler. The downfall is there prices are about as high as you'll find them compared to other model train stores I've been to. Nice people.Overall a nice, maintained and well stocked shop.

Brian and Bonnie run the store like the family store that it is. The inventory is on the shelves where it can be seen instead of looking everything up on the internet. Brian is a layout owner so he can share ideas if needed. The store has multiple layouts to get ideas and see the cohesion between products and applications. Books as well as magazines are available as well, so it's a one stop shop for the model railroader. I drive from Balto to there because it's that good of a store (they do have mail order as well) but it's the thrill of seeing it in person and looking for things that would compliment your purchase. Mainline will be your mainline to what your looking for.

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff are always willing to offer assistance. When you need something fast, get in the car and visit this amazing shop.

This place is model railroad heaven!! Absolutely outstanding shop!! Extremely helpful staff that actually took the time to show me the in's and outs of current railroading after an absence of 20+ years from the hobby. Now THAT is customer service!! My only complaint is that they aren't open past 5pm and most folks do not get off of work until then. I will definitely be back.

Our family enjoys shopping here. The exterior decieves one into thinking it is a "small" store. Once inside, you find a "jam-packed" well organized store with everything for your model railroad, from track to scenery, to of course, the trains. Prices are reasonable. Perhaps the best aspect, aside from selection, is the friendliness of the staff. The staff is knowledgeable about every item and can even test equipment prior to purchase, as we learned today. (We purchased an item from another business which was defective and requires return. When we expressed interest in testing the equipment prior to purchase, staff immediately obliged. We have been visiting this store for nearly two years now and they treat us like family, asking how the kids are and remarking how fast they're growing. You can't go wrong with a visit here.... unless you forget your wallet or are in a rush. Plan to take your time so you can "take it all in!"
