I had wanted a bonsai tree for some time now and happened upon this gem of a business by chance. Bob was a wonderful person to talk and ask questions to. I ended up buying my first bonsai from him (Carmona Fukien tea). Bob shown me and my wife around the property all while discussing many things. He had a wonderful assortment of bonsai, some common some rare, some old and some young. You could tell he is passionate about what he does, and would speak to you all day about it. Im glad I stopped by and found this place.

This was an awesome and soul satisfying experience. The place has so much charm and character, the plants are SO beautiful and well cared for, and the owner and staff are so kind, knowledgeable and helpful. Entering the greenhouse is like entering a different world. There is also a very sweet cat to befriend. An absolute treasure. I will be returning for sure.

This place was absolutely a treasure! The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about plants and he had quite a colorful background in botany and horticulture. The plants were amazing to look at, some were very old with quite the history. The greenhouse wasn't super huge, but was cozy and diverse in plant varieties. They even offered bonsai classes! When we went there were lots of orchids and cacti and I left with a cute little climbing onion and a philodendron. I'd definitely recommend checking it out!

If you want an expert to speak to about plants, go here! The house is covered in plants and it’s fun walking around. There an old cat that you should say hi to as well. We got a beautiful orchid for a birthday present. Will def go back the next time we’re in the area.

Mutschler's greenhouse is like walking into a jungle. It's a magical place. Great plants, good prices and a very friendly owner. 10/10 recommend even if you aren't in the market for a plant, check out this greenhouse for a wonderful experience! You will leave feeling inspired and knowledgeable.

This is my first ever Google review because I feel compelled to share my experience. First there are plants there you won’t see in the usual shop. If you’re a fan of interesting and unusual houseplants, you won’t be disappointed. The greenhouse is renewing and lovely with serene music and one interesting find after another. On the other hand, you do get the feel that the property is on a decline and maybe has seen better days. If I weren’t the kind of person who could see there was a story here, I may have left feeling disappointed. But after finding Bob, and hearing the history of the shop ( husband and wife couple who were high school sweethearts, he has a PhD in horticulture and taught all over), I will be making regular trips there. Look past the surface, find yourself an unusual houseplant, and have him tell you a story. If that sounds like your idea of a good time, you will leave like I did, feeling better than when you walked in.

I felt compelled to write a review today.Been coming toMutschler's Greenhouse for over 10yrs. Visited today and discovered that Mrs. Mutschler passed away last Dec . I saw she was failing at one of my last visits and worried about these two sweet people who were so obviously in love.I shared many a visit and long conversations with these two special people, even if I walked out without a purchase, I walked out with a warm feeling, some tidbit of knowledge I didn't have before or saw more than one rare and spectacular plant I never encountered before. There is no other place like this anywhere. Thank you!I went on their website to read Mrs. Mutschler's obituary. Then I read some reviews that disturbed me. I guess it's easy to write poor reviews when you don't seek facts and don't care how your review affects that family business. For anyone who hasn't lost a loved one or gone through a loved one's serious illness and watched them slip away, I just want to say please be mindful of writing judgey or less favorable reviews of a small family businesses without knowing the facts and the back stories. If you never shared a conversation with the Mutschlers over the years, attended a class lovingly shared by Mr Mutschler or walked through the greenhouse and saw plants you never saw before, then it's better to not write reviews that disparage what was and what is now a reality for Mr Mutschler and his family.God bless and know that I will always give you a 5 star review!

Amazing place. The owner is super nice and will personally show you around. They have an excellent selection of rare and uncommon varieties. The water features are amazing. Make sure to walk around the old historic house and check out the greenhouse. The main greenhouse needs care. Some of the plant are in dire need of pruning and a few were on their way out of this realm. The place was bug infested, and I caught a few fleas from the cat on me. The prices were a little over the top. Some of the varieties they have aren't that uncommon in this age of nurseries shipping. They also offer Bonsai classes. Definitely worth the visit if you are in the area. For sure!

I visited this place a couple years ago with my kids and we loved it. I wanted to introduce my husband to this place but upon our visit yesterday, I was extremely embarrassed that I even suggested it. The staff were almost absent... the plants are unrealistically over-priced... I mean, a bonzai tree for $900, a cactus for $400, and some of the older plants were listed in the triple digits. I even wondered if the listed prices were a joke?? There were very small potted plants listed for $35, or small air plants for 40. My goodness... not to mention that most of the plants there are either dead or dying. I won't be returning, or recommending this place to anyone again. 😒😔

A must visit if you're into rare plants, bonsai, unique gifts, or just gardening. The owner is obviously extremely passionate about his plants and it's made evident everywhere you look. Make sure to stop inside and check out the green house, it was easily the best part of the entire place. It's worth stopping in even if your not looking to buy anything. They also offer very reasonably priced classes for someone looking to get into growing certain types of plants or even bonsai

This place is amazing! They have a great selection of outdoor and pond plants, lots of koi, and the inside area is just incredible. It's an old farmhouse connected to a tropical greenhouse full of succulents, cacti, bonsai trees, and orchids. There's even a waterfall. Highly recommend!

I am always on the hunt for great orchids. I am on a perpetual quest for a C. Bicolor; wherever I go - I always search. I am so glad I decided to take the 50 min trek to this gem. I wasn't sure what to expect. I pulled up and had to take a stroll in the outdoor plant section. I was blown away by the lace leaf Japanese dwarf maple selection, bonsai, and other awesome plants. I found some cool bog plants and had to get one for my new collection. I wasn't sure where the orchids were so I meandered inside and went through a bunch of rooms. I stepped inside the greenhouse and gasped. It was like a secret garden. I saw the orchid section and was blown away by a huge vanda in bloom. There were so many awesome orchids you could see they were all loved. He also had the biggest pot of haworthia mutica I ever saw! I am kicking myself for not picking up what I think was truncata! I never saw one in person. Bob and Tyler were awesome to talk to. It's always great to meet fellow orchid lovers.

This place is pure magic. Just stopped in for the first time. If you are a true plant person this is a wonderful place to visit. Talked to the owner for awhile and they are super knowledgeable and kind. I was so sad to miss out on seeing his rare collection. Hearing that people were trying to steal them all, broke my heart! Will 10/10 return even to just look and chat with the owners more.

Owned and run by a wonderful couple. So knowledgeable, sweet and caring. Wide variety of orchids, succulents, grafted fruit trees, bonsai, pond plants and supplies. Bob has won awards with his plants in the Phila Flower Show. Beautiful old home is a treasure. Bob’s wife is a florist, and deliver to the local area too! They also teach classes, I can’t say enough good things. Support family businesses and visit them.

Whether your are a novice who has never kept anything alive, or a veteran plant keeper looking for something new, this is the place to come. Bob is passionate about plants and about teaching people to care for them. They offer plant care classes that come with a plant and all the knowledge you could want. This place will ruin commercial nursersies for you in the best way.

There is hardly a place like Mutschler's in the entirety of the northeast. Bob has an extensive knowledge of exotic plants and horticulture in general, and his vast selection of stock shows this. Every time I come into Mutschler's there are new shipments of the most amazing cultivars and I try to take any break I get during my time in college to come here. Mutschler's is truly an anomaly and if you're even remotely interested in horticulture and exotics you will be happy with what you find..
