Nice bakery & creamery in Bird-in-Hand. Plenty of options and places to sit. We chose a 3 dip ice cream sampler for $4.50 to share and omgoodness, what a deal! 3 huge scoops in a banana boat bowl. So good! We sat upstairs. It was a nice little spot. Try it, if you are in the area!

Breakfast and lunch options with upstairs seating or outdoor tables. The outdoor area is perfect for kids, with a petting zoo and a large play structure adjacent to the parking. We had good salads (add chicken for $2.50). Kids menus are simple (grilled cheese with apple sauce and a cookie). Pickles are large and delicious. Large selection of donuts on site. While food is affordable and simple, the highlight for a family is the outdoor opportunity for a long enjoyable outdoor lunch.

They have the best pastries. The cheese danish is Beyond delicious. The apple fritters are yummy! The peach fritters taste like apple fritters, not sure how, but they do. Still delicious. They have upstairs seating including outdoor seating. Very beautiful view.Very clean, very nice staff. Definitely try it

Shoofly pie barely had any filling, sticky buns were dry and not sticky. Cookies were pretty flavorless.Ice cream was goid but they don't have lids for leftovers.Staff didn't smile or say hello. The bakery was fun to check out. Just very disappointed in the quality of the baked items.

Started with the sweet Amish girl at the register. She was funny, informative and helpful. The baked goods were fresh and delicious. We had breakfast sandwiches which came out very quickly and were on point with flavor freshness and temperature. I recommend this place for a nice quick breakfast and yummy treats. We will be back I'm sure.

Stopped in for a bite for breakfast, very nice and clean lots of things to see there. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and the cost was $7.95 . Much to my surprise I received half of a breakfast sandwich. Was very good but very disappointed in a half of sandwich 😔 I ordered a breakfast sandwich not a half of breakfast sandwich. Was not worth spending almost $8 on thatHard pass never again. Do better please. I can't be the first ever to say this about that . 😢

This bakery has a lot of sweets. One of my favorites is the ice cream sandwich. It's delicious. The prices are on the high side but that seems to be the norm in the area. The workers are nice and professional, has a smile on their faces. The store is not that crowded most of the time. If you go upstairs, you can be seated and eat a proper meal. Overall, fun place to visit to get some good treats.

Whenever I am in Lancaster I make sure I stop in to grab some of their delicious donuts. My favorite bakery of all time. From their hotels, to bakery, or even their farmers market, Bird in Hand always does an excellent job. Their breakfast sandwiches are also just as good as they look!

Breakfast sandwich was far from special. All eggs are steamed, so, no overeasy, no scrambled, etc.Atmosphere is kind of Disney, not at all authentic.Over all a bit disappointed. No reason to come again...

Had a wonderful sandwich and a salad. We bought baked goods and enjoyed sitting upstairs on a porch overlooking the neighborhood. Definitely a nice quick place to stop and get some goodies!

When you order food they don’t bring it to you. They didn’t tell me I had to get my own drink. I asked for a small box for my donut and I was given a big box. Till I got home it wasnt ettibleParking: The parking lot is hard to get in and out of since it’s such a small lot for as busy a the bakery is

The Bird-in-Hand Bakery and Cafe is always my families first stop when we visit Lancaster as we get a baked good and drink to fuel up for the rest of the day. Their ice cream section is really good with some unique flavors! The other side of the bakery where the cakes and such are, is very nice, too! Seeing as a lot of people go there for breakfast or lunch, it would be nice if that was a separate counter from those just getting ice cream and baked goods.

If you're looking for an amazing bakery and cafe, then Bird in Hand Bakery & Cafe is the place for you! Located conveniently on Google Maps, this cozy cafe is the perfect spot for a delicious breakfast or lunch. The baked goods here are simply outstanding, with a wide variety of bread, pastries, and cakes to choose from. The croissants are flaky and buttery, while the cinnamon rolls are soft and gooey. The coffee is also excellent, with a rich and smooth flavor that pairs perfectly with any pastry. The menu offers a great selection of sandwiches and salads, all made with fresh and high-quality ingredients. The chicken salad sandwich is a personal favorite, with a delicious homemade dressing and a generous portion of tender chicken. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with friendly staff and a charming decor. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food and service.Overall, I highly recommend Bird in Hand Bakery & Cafe for anyone looking for a tasty breakfast, lunch, or snack. This is definitely a five-star spot that deserves a visit when you're in the area!

5.25.23. Very clean establishment with very good ice cream. They have 3 areas where you can sit, talk with friends and eat your ice cream. There is an upstairs enclosed area, balcony and seating along the street. It's the only place I will buy a cone within 20 miles. They also have food which I have never had.

Came here after a delicious lunch experience. Grabbed some baked goods and a scoop of Strawberry Cocunut Chocolate Chip Ice Cream. What a combination but works wonderfully. Staff didnt know why the batch didnt thicken but that didnt matter. Very nice place and a cute petting zoo too! Will definitely come again!

Service was poor. Staff lacked any customer service. Not busy at all (a Monday afternoon) and took 10 minutes to get a muffin out of the case. Although the muffin was good, I would not recommend going.

I received my order of a shoo fly pie yesterday.WOW!!!!!!!!It was the absolutely the best I have ever had.Living out west I have missed the foods from Amish country I grew up on. Occasionally the super market will have scrapple but I have never seen shoo fly pie.Thank you so much for a great version of a boyhood favorite.I will be ordering again.

Friendly counter service, we got whoopie pies 6 for $17. We got a 1/2 gallon of ice cream too. Restroom is upstairs... You can use stairs or an elevator. There's a quilt shop upstairs as well with higher prices than if you buy directly.

While my kids got ice cream, I tried a donut. A little after noon, and the donut tasted like it was two days old. Hard and stale. I was excited about the peanut butter/chocolate flavor, but left really disappointed.

We ordered takeout, so I can’t speak to the inside of the place, but I ordered a Caesar salad and it was inedible. It was all brown and wilted, and I ended up throwing it out. The kids grilled cheese was fine.

Awful compared to years past. I have been coming for years specifically for the doughnuts that used to be filled with so much filling and completely covered in fluffy frosting. The peanut butter filled had barely any frosting on top and it was not even the same delicious frosting. The inside had a bite of filling which also was not good. The girl that boxed them put 6 different doughnuts into a small box without any paper so the frosting went all over and they all got smushed. Definitely will be looking for a new bakery the next visit.

Really enjoy going here with my mom and son. She and I will get a latte which has always been delicious and my son will get a cookie which he always loves. There's also a small petting zoo and playground right next to it he likes to go to. My son always likes to sit on the second floor where there are big windows he can look out and watch the trucks, cars and horse and buggies go by.
