So disappointed in our last grooming visit at Charr Saucon Valley. We had been there previously with great success…not this time!Our beautiful Goldendoodle now looks like a Weimaraner…his whole body was shaved…even his tail which will take a year to grow out. All this before the holidays and the cold weather. When we picked him up we did not even recognize him. He is sad and embarrassed and is constantly licking his paws because he was burned by the razor in between his nails.Their explanation was…”he was matted” which sounds like the story they tell everyone from the reviews. He was not matted as my husband had just brushed him prior to the appointment. Needless to say, we will not be returning. They are expensive and do not listen or do what you want them to. So sad.

Called for some information about some doggy food, customer service was amazing! Shauntise, and Margo were so helpful and kind and willing to assist it was refreshing to receive such good service over the phone and in person. Why would you ever go to any other pet store! My new favorite place!!!!!!!!!!!!!

‼️‼️BAD GROOMERS‼️‼️This place genuinely sucks , Don’t take your pup here if you’re looking for a good cut, the groomers are clearly unexperienced and customer service is terrible. Dropped my dog off to get a trim, I didnt clarify much just saidi wanted his hair cut shorter and out of his face. I go and pick him up and the lady grooming him didn’t cut around his ears or face and when i asked why it was because “she likes the hair long”. Also scheduled a month in advance for my appointment to get cancelled A night before. Thanks Cassidy hope that “ respiratory infection” clears up fast so you can get back to the bad cuts.

I love this place. The store is always kept very clean and it does provide an ample selection of products that are available for purchasing.My overall experience with the Staff have always been positive and a great one.They have always been more than friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, helpful and courteous. Staff is more than willing to do research for any item that you may be in need of but is not out on any of their shelves. They are willing to place an order for it, and get it into store for you, all you have to do is ask!I recently decided to try using their Grooming Service for my dog. I am very pleased and satisfied with my overall experience within this Department and for that reason i have continued to schedule subsequent future grooming appointments.

I took my dog there and talked to Jess for almost 20 mins of what I wanted. She assured me it would be done. Nope, came back she shaved my dog except her head. It looked so awful. It actually looked like an Afro on top of this skinny dog.Funny thing was, she had a dog before me with the EXACT same cut.I would stay away if you have a doodle

I took my dog for grooming yesterday and stood in the room the entire time she was being groomed. When she came home I noticed razor burns all over her chest and on her leg and one spot where she had dried up blood. I understand things happen but I was there the entire time and the woman never said anything to me. I will not be coming back and recommend people stay far away from here for grooming. EDIT: I paid for the full groom and I asked the lady if that included tooth brushing (usually it does) and she said no it’s not included. On the Chaar website both the basic and full groom includes tooth brushing. Her ears were also not cleaned. I paid $50 and all I got was the cut, bath, and nail trim. UPDATE: I was contacted by management who was very friendly and offered me a full refund for my service. I also received a spray to use on my dogs cuts. I also met a new groomer today (didn’t catch her name) but she was extremely friendly and did my dogs teeth, ears, and fixed her nails up. I would definitely go back to her. I have updated my rating to reflect my overall experience. You can tell they really care about their customers.

I took my Sadie for grooming today and was scheduled with Rachel. Her haircut is choppy and I asked for perfume and got none and then while riding home Sadie got blood on my shorts, shirt and hand. Her paw pad was cut, I could see it clearly. I called the store and explained what had happened and no apologies or concern what so ever. I was very upset. This was my first visit and I won’t be going back. Why can’t people care anymore? I also paid 66.00 dollars which is outrageous in my mind. I was hoping this would be a great place to go because it is close to our house but that won’t be an option. Joanne

Staff is kind, and always helpful. Would get 5 Stars, but prices are slightly elevated than other stores. Great place though and also pet friendly. So bring Fido, or Feline if they like going out.

Use to like this place. Not all groomers are licensed. Took my dog there and the groomers we usually use are no longer working there. Hair was choppy, nails too short and bled. Dog was shaking and traumatized this time. Yelps when paws/nails are touched. Never again. Staff was friendly though and store has stuff you can't find anywhere else.

Do Not use the Groomer at this location. Absolutely terrible. We opted to go to this location after our regular groomer at the Allentown location was fully booked. NEVER AGAIN.I lifted my dog onto the table for a nail trim. The first thing the groomer did was to put the neck tether around my dogs neck to hold them on the table. Anyone with dog breed knowledge (which a groomer should have) knows that a brachycephalic dog should never be tethered around the neck due to issues with their breathing and risk of suffocation. That is a death of a dog and lawsuit waiting to happen. Luckily I was standing with my dog to stop her.As my dog was sitting still on the table she grabbed her trimmers and right away cut the first nail. My dog yelped out in pain and blood started pouring out of his nail. Even non dog groomers know that you are supposed to look where the quick of the dogs nail is before you just start trimming. And Chaar hired this woman as a groomer...REALLY. Even the book, Dog Grooming For Dummies explains the quick in a dogs nail. I had to quickly ask her for styptic powder to stop the bleeding and then she wanted to cut more nails. Absolutely not. I lifted my dog down and left the salon area immediately. I informed the woman at the counter who really didn't seem to care, the young ladies there at the counter understood why i was angry and leaving.This encounter makes you wonder how many other dogs in a day this groomer does this to. Causing pain for the dogs and using some blood clot powder so the unsuspecting owners have no idea what happened to their dogs. I wouldn't trust this woman with a pet rock let alone a living breathing dog or cat.
