A long-standing staple of Berwick, May's has managed to weather the pandemic well. Not too much with them changes - the menu stays basically the same; staff is always smiling and helpful even if the faces change. Some places fail for things like this, but for them it's a strength.Not super fancy or super ritzy, May's is a place that you'd be hard pressed to find anyone local who doesn't have childhood memories of going there - and in a world changing ever faster every passing day, the sameness of May's acts as an anchor that helps bring young and old together and reminds everyone that things aren't as bad as they might seem.Update 2024-04-16: Received lackluster service when asked to correct a mistake in our order. Employee scoffed and said "You don't have to be rude about it" in reply. Dropping service from 5 stars to 3.

Good food, friendly atmosphere, great ice cream. Since the coronavirus the service has gone downhill, the prices have gone up and they don't pay attention to your order. And some of the young staff are cockyThe prices are ridiculous. I could buy Hamburg at the store for the price of one burger here.Prices went up again. Got a whole plain pizza and shared with my daughter. We each had a drink and she got fries. Total around $19Parking: 25 spotsKid-friendliness: Kids get a free ice cream with a kid's meal

Brand new to the area and stumbled across this absolute gem. We told the young lady who took our order that we'd moved the day before and she happily answered a few questions we had about finding things locally.The food. Oh the food. Wonderful price and delicious. I had the hot dog with chili basket ($5.75 at the time of this review) and my husband had the Pork Bar-B-Que sandwich basket ($6.85). Dog was snappy and juicy with a bright flavorful chili and the pork sandwich melted in your mouth. The crinkle cut fries were fresh and perfect.We also had their orange creamsicle soft serve (two kid cones $4.75) and it was absolutely to die for in a fresh wafer cone.We cant wait to make Mays part of our new lives here in Berwick

I have eaten here dozens of times, food is normally pretty good, however today was horrible. Ordered a meatball sub and it nasty. And the onion rings were burnt and only got 5 rings for $2.15, felt cheated..Tried them again today. Disappointed even more. Steak hoagie was very small and zero flavor. Took over 30 minutes to get after ordering

awesome place, definitely recommend. staff was nice especially the person that took my order, Justin. i asked him questions and he helped me and got me what i wanted. food was really good, i ordered a breaded chicken sandwich Justin recommended to me. the place was clean, very calm, and newly built. i will definitely come back to this place!

amazing soft serve ice cream, and delicious food!! I love their stormers (a lot similar to DQ blizzards lol, hence the name.) Its a great place to go all year round. can’t resist their ice cream! (there is access to the ice cream counters inside the restaurant as well if it’s too cold/hot outside.)

Our daughter has a peanut allergy, but loves the occasional ice cream treat. May's is the only ice cream shop in the area we feel comfortable visiting! They are so accommodating and do everything they can to ensure her safety. We are grateful!

Love this place its been around forever. Food is great its a small eatery/ice cream parlor. Meals are great priced. It is good for a quick bite on the way through or if you have a big family to just sit in and relax.

Good ice cream, service on the other hand sucks when the young kids are working. Had an order of 4, 3 soft serves in a dish, and one milkshake. We were there for 30 min, and the place was dead.

Has been my favorite icecream place for 30 years. I live pretty far away now but whenever I'm up my parents way I go here and I'm never disappointed. Prices are right and my kiddo loves service at the outside window just like I did as a kid.

The ice cream was good as usual. I usually stick to simple waffle cone and chocolate. But I saw a peanut butter cup sunday with chocolate ice cream. I wanted one like that. They made it but it had vanilla ice cream not chocolate. So I said something tried to get the girl to stop before she put the vanilla in mine. I wasn't fast enough so I paid for another one made with chocolate ice cream. I'm sorry but what peanut butter cup has vanilla anything in it or with it?? One of my favorite local joints. Always makes me feel like I've jumped into a time machine and visited the 50's! It's simple food and tasty ice cream treats. Our family favorite on a hot summer night. I hope it never changes!

Customer service is good. But very disappointed in food portion size. Just paid $14 for a burger basket and grilled chicken basket. Chicken was literally the size of a 50 cent piece and the burger not much bigger. Wish I would have known before I paid, would have left.

I like their ice cream but they hire trash. This one guy just pushed in front of the line because this ugly lump of trailer trash fat broad just came into work. Then he threatened me when I complained. This tall skinny young punk screwed up my milkshake, didn't tell me the machine wasn't working right, which lately for some reason it never is, so it was too thick to drink. That's not a milkshake. So I incredibly politely asked him if there was anything he could do about it. I didn't want to be an inconvenience. He rolled his friggin eyes at me. What a little prick. They need to stop hiring friends and family. It's obvious that that is what this is because each time I called to speak with or leave a message with the manager, nothing was done. Too many people out there desperate for jobs to hire trash who doesn't care. Grow up or lose business and possibly shut down. I am talking to the managers. Too many people are saying the same things I am saying. Many refuse to go there anymore. Don't think for a second that this place can't shut down. Better places have. The economy isn't that good. Where else are you gonna work? They aren't looking for ice cream shop managers. Both of these instances happened last summer.

Was there last Friday. Ordered butterscotch Sunday, cost almost 4.00 all I got was vanilla ice cream with a little watered down butterscotch and I mean very little butterscotch and a cherry. I hope some day the boy and 2 girls experience the same and see how they would like it. I am a senior citizen and and on a low fixed income. 4.00 is a lot of money to get pretty much of nothing. Will never go there again. Better to travel the extra miles to Maureen's in west Nanticoke and get what you order and your money's worth.
