Speed while traveling 4 lunch. Couple miles from highway but worth the detour! Small hometown store with few specialty items- local creamery ice cream & local raw milk cheeses in addition to subs, few appetizers & soup available.I had a half sub (about 6-7 inch sandwich) with cup of soup & drink for about $9&change! BARGAIN 4 what I was served. Sandwich made to order. It was super fresh ingredients & delicious. Homemade Italian wedding soup seasoned expertly; it was very tasty.Pleasant engaging service. Accommodated all requests (even made me a sampler of the different ice creams...Decor was that of an old time store. Kinda like Cracker Barrel Decor if your familiar with that.Parking: Parking out back in their lot. No problem with access. Few stairs to enter from back.Wheelchair accessibility: Not certain about front entrance but Few stairs to enter from back.

Actually used to enjoy the food here, im not sure what happened but quality is not the same. Hands down the worst cheesesteak ive ever had in my life, a steakmmm stuck to a generic frozen beef patty, not chopped or seasoned. Literally looked like 2 burnt tires on a crumbly stale roll. Took 35 min for 2 sandwiches. We were the only 2 customers inside during our visit. Horrible customer service. Rude dark haired girl making our food couldnt answer a question, too busy learning spanish on her phone to even say hi or goodbye. We wont be back thats for certain.

Excellent subs made w/ Hormel meat. Since they didn't use lettuce, the mayo and cheese completed the subs. They tasted really good and were reasonably priced. They had a location just outside of Altoona campus (Penn State) that I used to get subs from. I didn't know about the original store until Dad took me there once when I came back to PA. to visit family. He graduated from Bellwood, so he was already familiar w/ them.

I just take out at this point but three visits to buy Italian subs and they have been great! Fresh and delicious 😋 Atmosphere is fine just laid back and very casual. Thank you for great subs and for offering lettuce as an option ☺️Parking: There’s minimal to moderate parking not plenty but that choice wasn’t available above.Wheelchair accessibility: I did not see handicap accessibility, unfortunately.

The Norfolk Southern mainline is only a few blocks away (I enjoy watching trains and Bellwood PA is an enjoyable place to spend time on my hobby), so this is a convenient place to grab a bite to eat and use a restroom. I have only purchased subs, and the quality and value is why I keep going back. While waiting for my order, I enjoy looking at the photos they have hanging on the wall. I will make one suggestion for an improvement; include a napkin or two with takeout orders. I've learned to bring my own paper towels/napkins. Besides this small oversight, this place is definitely worth the visit.

Found this place kinda by accident one day years back on the bike, been going back every chance I get close. Stopped today and two younger girls were working. I figured it wouldn't be as good. Got my Italian and the owners taught these girls right! The best hoagie you can get!!

Small and Local. Support these businesses as often as you can!Very friendly and helpful staff. Great fresh made subs and even some side items like macaroni and potato salad. Plenty of meat and cheese on the subs!Very good. Very fresh. Served by very friendly folks.

I've been to a dozen or so sub shops around Pennsylvania and this one ranks in the top 3. Friendly staff and great food I definitely will be going back. Plus their ice cream is amazing some of the best I have ever had.

There are not enough "local" sub shops like this anymore. The subs are legitimate deli subs on good bread and larger than average. I recommend starting with a half and working your way up!This is the sort of place I remembering riding a bike too when I was little so I could cool off, get a drink and grab a snack. Employees were very warm and friendly.

This small, community sub shop/convenient store, has been part of Bellwood for generations. It is largely family operated. In fact during my visit there were three generations running the shop. The food (italian sub) was decent, not something to write home about. The facilities were clean but dated, it is everything you would expect in a rural small town. Service was excellent, and if I was a gambling man theOwners probably know the names of 80% of their patrons.

The cheese steak is the best! Add the sweet and mild peppers to make it awesome! The kids that work there are so nice and friendly! I always like to patronize a local business especially in the days of the big corporate eating places. It's a small grocery store too.

I ordered 2 fish sandwiches, they said it takes a " little" bit longer for the fish. It took 50 minutes! All I ordered was mayo on 1, and cheese on the other. No mayo, no cheese. If your going to offer fish at a sub shop, then enable your employees to make it in a timely manner.

You can't find a better hoagie. The combination and Italian are my go to choice's. Huge portions on their curly fries and you can feed 2-3 people. I always get a cup of nacho cheese to dip them in. Great breakfast as well. You will always catch the same group of guys in the same seats.

HOAGIES ARE A MUST TRY! Have NEVER been disappointed here. If you love hoagies this is the place for you. They make one AMAZING super large one that you can not hardly fit into your mouth, but it is fun trying. They put an amazing amount of meat on these things. Prices are not high for them either. We just really enjoy them. Place is clean and staff are very friendly. The food is really good and price are fair.They have lunch meats, chips, sodas, milk. It's a small neighborhood country store.
