We adopted Mudge from Abby’s Angels a few years ago, and he has been the perfect fit for our family. I have nothing but good things to say about this rescue and the executive director Nicole. She pours her entire heart and soul into these dogs. There is not a more selfless person that I know. She spends a countless hours behinds the scenes making sure every dog that comes into care is given the opportunity to heal. I love that it is a foster based rescue because it truly allows for a dogs’ needs, likes/dislikes, etc. to be identified so that they can be matched up with the perfect home. The selflessness and love the founder portrays is unmatched! Nicole and her family care for these animals when they have no one else. When they don’t have anymore space, she finds it. When she doesn’t have anymore money, she raises it. So many of these precious babies would’ve had their lives ended with never knowing love and compassion without this haven.The part that makes abbys angels the best is that, on top of wonderful humans running the foundation, they’re fair. We have adopted 2 dogs now from Abby's Angels. The first go round I was surprised at how incredibly thorough the application process was. I have come to appreciate this SO much. It shows their priorities are right... getting the best fit for the people AND the dog. Personalities, energies, likes and dislikes. So much of that gets overlooked at shelters and breeders. Trying to get it right the first time creates less confusion for the dog, but more importantly, gives the best chance for the forever match. Knowing what I know now, I wish ALL shelters, rescues, breeders were this thorough. Dogs first. That is the priority of the rescue, and it's evident in how the owner runs it.

Nicole is so caring and goes above and beyond for these pups. This is a great organization! She hired Elijah Thane and I to paint a mural with 31 dogs for her store in Bedford!

Our experience with Abby's Angels was totally positive through every step of the adoption process. We fell in love with Rowdy as soon as we saw him on their site. As someone who works in the veterinary field, I've seen far too many adoptions that weren't good matches between the pet and owner. I have the upmost respect for them in regards to their screening process. Thankfully we were considerer a good match for Rowdy. We live in Maryland and drove over two hours each way twice, once to meet him and then to pick him up.I also want to give a shout out to the fosters. Rowdy's foster (Kerri) did such an awesome job acclimating him to life in a house, caring for his injured leg and doing basic training with him.Oops...just realized I'm logged into my work account.
