I am giving 3 stars because I've only been there 1 time, and this would be the second time talking to someone in the office. I had 4 kittens that I had to bottle feed. Their mother died after giving birth. I had to break The sacks and take care of the placenta's because the mother was ill. I called Athens animal care hospital. And they assured me they could not take the kittens in for me that it was something I had to do on my own and that most of them would not make it. They were correct because only one survived. I did not have the help that I needed. They offered a freeContainer of Kitten milk powder but i had already bought one ,from tracktor supplies. It went so quickly that I needed more. I went down to the office. And apparently, they had changed their mind about it being free because they charged me 21$ for a small can. I told her whoever I talked to told me I could have 1 can for free, seems how i'm taking care of the kittens and they weren't able to help me.... Yet I was in a hurry on my way to work so I bought the can. The reason I'm posting this is because it is a animal hospital, and animal hospitals should care more about the animals, then soaking money out of people for animal food. I believe buying animal food from an animal hospital should cost less than if I were to go to Walmart. Or tractor supply. Also How can I trust that animal hospital now? If they told me "the can was on the house", And then when I go there and explain that, instead of finding the person who told me that, instead, asked me to pay the twenty one dollars..

My animals have been going here for years. They are friendly, and thorough. It helps that my animals trust the staff at AAH. As a rescue, my dog doesn't trust many people. He always gets a treat after his visit, and lots of love from the staff. The offices, lobby, and exam rooms are very clean and animal proof.They offer after hours emergency services for their clients (which is a major bonus!!!) Prices are very affordable. They really could get away with charging more. AAH will be my pets forever vet. Why change something that is so perfect? We love them. If you are thinking about taking your pet there, you will NOT regret it. Dr. Christiansn is the best!

Since adopting my first dog in 2014, this is the only place I take my doggies. You won't have any kind of personal relationship with a vet - I think we see someone different every time we go - but the care is good, and the updated decor is really cute. The office is always really clean.When my beagle/jack russell ate a dead cicada and got really sick, Athens Animal Hospital were calm and helpful with simple over-the-counter remedies. (I was freaking out, but they were super helpful.)

I have been bringing my fur babies to Athens animal hospital for well over 10 years and they have always been so thoughtful and caring. I recently lost my dog of 15 yrs and they came in after hours so that I could have him cremated. I will always recommend them as a vet for your fur babies.

Very nice ppl. They were very gentle and carrying with my senior pooch and got him fixed right up.Recently my pal was in a dangerous situation and the folks at Athens Animal Hospital were so very kind and helpful. They got me in same day! I love this place and highly recommend!!!

We have used this veterinarian for close to ten years. Was a good vet center until it recently changed ownership. Wife and i took our new puppy for his first shots and wormer,and his microchip. Apt went just fine. Walk out to pay the bill and schedule another appointment that the pup needs in 3 weeks. Wanted to add our cat to the same appointment for her shots as well. Nope. You can't do that. We need t schedule another appointment for the cat. Umm it takes a hot 2 minutes to give the cat its shots too. We have 5 dogs and a kitty that we take the utmost care. We have been customers of this clinic for a decade. Im sorry to see they don't care about the customer just the 50$ office visit. Which i would have gladly paid.

Our dog developed an abscess tooth that caused a wound to develop between her nose and her eye. We called AAH, who we have used for years. The first call resulted in, “as long as she is eating and drinking, keep it clean and call if it does not get better”. It did not get better and we were able to get in and Vivie was seen within minutes by Dr. Shelley Hamilton. We are so thankful for AAH and their staff. They are kind, helpful, and accommodating to you and your pet.Thank you AAH for making room for us yesterday and taking good care of our pet and us!!!

Dr. Hamilton and her vet tech Aaron were wonderful. My puppy had an issue two days before her first appointment and Dr. Hamilton was kind enough to dispense medication even though she had never seen the puppy. It was a huge relief to know my puppy was going to feel better going into the weekend.

I was very pleased with the kindness this Animal Hospital showed me and my family. We unexpectedly had to put our Cat down, and they were very patient and explained what they believed had happened to our cat. They let us have time with him before we went through with the procedure and were very heart felt with their condolences. I want to thank them for getting us in so fast and helping us with such a difficult decision. I will recommend Athens Animal Hospital to anyone I know who needs a good vet for their fur baby's! I can't say enough about how much I adore this office. We recently had three of our dogs diagnosed with cancer. The good people at this hospital have gone above and beyond to help our pups (and us) with countless last minute visits for medicine and surgeries (and unfortunately having to put one down). They are compassionate people that obviously care. Also, their rates are lower than other vets we have been to which has definitely helped. Thank you!!

That were fantastic! My 12 year old dog was having some respiratory problems and they agreed to allow me to bring him to their clinic late Saturday afternoon. Later after checking my sweet boy out, he was much improved.

My little dog had a terrible reaction to a chewable flea pill. I called and they immediately made a same day appointment to see him. The staff and front desk persons were so friendly and concerned . I will keep them as my new vet service.

Absolutely love this vet clinic. They have always treated my pets as family. Recently had to euthanize my beloved Dillan of 14 years. They handled the situation with respect and kindness. His cremation was well done with the utmost respect. I would highly recommend this vet!!

I've just become the happy mom of two baby kittens and this was my first stop! They do an excellent job. They have a careful and gentle touch when handling the kittens. They are very on top of shots and getting other infections taken care of in a timely manner.

I had a car accident. My dog was thrown from my car & I just moved here, so I didn't have a vet for her yet. A friend of mine suggested this clinic & I couldn't be happier. I got an appointment on extremely short notice. They were very friendly, very understanding, and so sweet to my girl. They did a very thorough exam to make sure she was OK. They're now her vet & I couldn't be happier.

I am surprised that everyone else has had good experiences at this location. I started bringing my puppy Yorkie there based on the positive reviews and was never treated very well. It was basically get you in and out. The vet we saw was NOT attentive and when inquiring about getting him neutered she basically blew us off like she didn’t want the business. Every visit the vet came in once, left the room, and never came back.I found a large tick on my dog and called them right away, after getting it off, asking what I should do. Anyone would think they’d schedule and apt to get blood work done. They told me to look out for the symptoms and call them if he had any. He never showed signs and I visited them since for updated shots and a WELLNESS visit. It was never brought up, like the receptionist didn’t note it in his chart, and my questions weren’t answered. I went to Agape in Horseheads yesterday and they were so attentive with my pup and he tested POSITIVE with Lyme Disease... I’m really upset about the lack of attention to detail and how unfriendly the vet is. You work with people, act like you want to be there.

We've been using Athens Animal Hospital for 20+ years and they are awesome. All of the staff is kind and caring with our pets, from our young cats that aged into elderly cats, and our puppy that aged to currently 18 year old dog. Excellent care. We'd never take them anywhere else.
