It should be noted that It's been a while since I've been to St Vincents in Altoona. So I was VERY shocked upon my recent visit.This used to be a great thrift store to shop at with affordable prices. Currently the prices are laughable. $6 for a McDonald's Shrek cup from 2001?? Not to mention the pair of used sneakers with human blood on them for $12. ( see picture below) How those even made it onto the sales floor AND even received a special boutique tag I have no idea.Very disappointing to see the large price jump on pretty much everything. I'm not sure why either because none of the items are worth much to begin with. Not only are the prices unreasonable, but they are equally if not more expensive than Goodwill and Salvation Army. I seriously doubt they are selling as much as they used to. I would be totally unsurprised if I went back 3 months from now and nothing they had out had been sold.I noticed they also took away the very nice changing room for trying things on. They slapped a sign with " storage" on it.Don't worry, they set up a rickety and smallreplacement in the corner. It's a few metal poles taped together with thin curtains.The  replacement that is barely big enough for a child let alone a grown adult trying to try on clothes. It's about the size of a water heater. I am a short and medium built woman and it was claustrophobic and hard to maneuver to try anything on. It's such a ridiculous system to have in place when they could simply re-open the old much nicer dressing room. ( see picture below)I'll definitely be skipping this next time I'm in Altoona. It's no longer worth the time to stop and sift through the overpriced tchotchkes and blood stained footwear.

Prices still are decent but didn't like the "new changing room" that's literally some curtains and pvc pipe . We also had to leave before we got to look at everything because my 4yr old had to pee and they wouldn't let him use the bathroom. Don't get me wrong I understand their's rules but seriously he's 4🙄

The staff never opens at 9. The “husband and wife” at the counter are extremely rude and make comments about people not being able to read and complaining about customers while you can hear them do so across the store. They get rude when you try to come in through the unlocked doors several minutes after 9 bc “they aren’t ready” yet and when you go outside to wait, no one ever comes out to let you know they’re finally open. This has happened on atleast 4 times over the last 2 weeks. It is disgusting to have such rude and ignorant people working at a store that represents such a wonderful cause. Not a good representation for the church at all. It’s not even just those two however they’re the ones there most of the time. It’s just not right to speak to people the way they do and especially with whom they are to be representing.

DO NOT SUPPORT this organization. They are not Christians and terrible people. I have had multiple bad experiences with them. When I first moved out here and needed a little help I was very rudely told " if you're not a resident for more than 6 months we can't help you ". The second time again I went to them for help and I was spoken down to and yelled at. Now I purchased 2 couches and I am on a very tight budget. I was also going out of town for a week the next morning. I was told I only had 24 hours to pick them up then 5 days with a $5 a day charge. I went and found someone immediately and rented a trailer from uhaul I was pushing the clock so I called them and tried to explain my situation twice but I was only given attitude and transferred to extensions of people who were not there. I arrived at 5:05 to find it completely deserted. When I called the next day I was yelled at and told pretty much too bad

The time of operation needs to reflect actual time showed up at 4:45 PM only to be turned away by a lady who said that they were closing 10 minutes early which was inaccurate it was 15 minutes early I think that it should be changed to reflect actual times because people with gas prices they don't want to waste a trip to be turned away. Only would have taken us 5 minutes to get what we needed that we saw on a listing Facebook, Ridiculous.
