We finished our last class today with Benelli our GS. He did great. Linda is a great teacher/coach. Dog training is all about what the owner wants to put into it. Linda can be tough we saw that, but do the homework, put the time in, TRAIN YOUR DOG, and the class is so much easier. Linda is there to correct your style and bad habits, your not going to get that watching YouTube videos. She's there to drive the lesson into your brain so you do it correctly and continue to do it correctlt and do it safely. If you can't take constructive criticism then maybe pet training with a trainer isn't for you. Our 5 month old GS did great and we're happy we did this training. He heels, sits and stays, and lays on command. Sure we have to keep up with the training, but the basics are there and he knows it. Thanks Linda for the help and knowledge!

I'm an experienced dog owner and would HIGHLY recommend this place! I've taken my dogs to classes here for over 20 years! My little rescue dog was even voted the most improved in her obedience class! Terriers are not easy lol. I would not trust anyone else with my dog! This instructor knows what she is doing! Put in the work and you won't be disappointed!

I’ve been training my dog, Durango, with Linda for about four months. I brought in Durango when he was just about six months old, with a lot of energy and not listening very well. In that time, I am now able to walk him in public, take him in stores (that allow dogs), and talk with my neighbors without him jumping all over them. The results you’ll see from your dog is from the work you do with them. Linda helps you understand what you, as the owner, need to do. Don’t show up thinking that she’s going to do it for you. I met some great owners there as well, who were more than willing to give me advice on what I was doing wrong and how to correct things once I left. I recommend Linda and her team for anyone wanting to better understand how to train your dog.

I have been training with my dog (Baby) at ShadyRock school for dogs for approximately 3 years. The trainers there are absolutely amazing; because of their expertise, guidance, and encouragement Baby has won numerous first places and titles at AKC competitions and events. The trainers have also been crucial in the pursuit of me training Baby to be a Service dog.I would highly recommend ShadyRock to anyone who is seeking experience and knowledgeable trainers who truly care about the well being and safety of you and your canine companion.

Initially I had high hopes because of the sparkling reviews on facebook and google. As I continue to attend classes, the less I am impressed. Ultimately I wish that I had saved the $90 and watched a couple of youtube videos on basic commands. The parking is ample but disorganized with no clearly marked spots. Although the inside space is spacious as well, the classes are very overcrowded. I believe you’re asking too much of a 14 week old puppy to sit still for an hour when you are literally shoulder to shoulder with another owner and puppy. Of the 1 hour time slot, you get about 2 minutes of individualized attention. Some of the practices that I saw were less than ideal. While I understand that this business claims great success in training dogs, my idea of successful training does not align. Firstly, I do not condone the use of choke collars, though the trainer coerced nearly everyone into buying one from her and using it. Secondly, the trainer encourages the use of lemon juice to stop a dog barking. Please google “is lemon juice safe for dogs” and see what the AKC has to say. Thirdly, on every occasion that the trainer models a command on someone’s dog- she manhandles the dog. Picking the dog up by the collar, dragging them where they should be, physically forcing them into the command pose then providing a ‘good dog’ and a pet for a reward. These are not positive training techniques, these are training out of discomfort, pain and fear.I also wanted to note that during their 2 minutes of individual attention, the trainer made fun of two separate owners in front of the entire class, mocking them for not knowing their left foot from their right foot- and one of those owners came to tears after that and hasn’t ever returned to the classes. This type of behavior is unacceptable in my opinion.**** The owner/trainer’s defensive responses to negative feedback should tell you exactly what you need to know about this business as a whole ****

I have trained with Darlene at Shady Rock School for Dogs for two and a half years and me and my dog both have a blast at classes. My dog used to bark as soon as he saw another dog, but is now CGCA certified and able to remain calm around other dogs.

Nice facility. Clean and well lighted. The classes are great fun and my dog has done well in the obedience class. I really appreciate the guidance about nutrition from Dr. Stuart and saving money on my food by buying it from the co-op. I think we will try the Canine Good Citizen class next. I also am using Linda to groom my dogs now as she does a super job and the price is reasonable.

Linda is a great dog (and more importantly, human) trainer. She is strict but guiding and great at giving constructive criticism. I would absolutely recommend training classes with her.
