Very convenient living nearby. I always stop here for anything I need. Staff is friendly, just wish the self checkout machine would work more. I’m convinced it’s closed more than it’s open.

Great worker(s) but unfortunately this store is price gouging our small community. These "discount" stores are taking over our community pushing out grocery stores and then gouging us. $6.75 for a bag of French fries??? What is our politicians doing about it....absolutely nothing. I'm glad I have a car and can drive to the Trader Joe's an hour away just to save money, get better quality food and the employees are fantastic (probably because they employ enough workers not just 1 to work the entire store) #Boycott Dollar General stop paying top dollar for discount food!!!

I frequent this store when I am in town. Last week I happened to stop in and was buying some necessities. I was having difficulty accessing my money within my accounts. For several minutes during checkout, I was taking things off, adding them on, trying to use this payment method, or that payment method. It was frankly quite embarrassing, because I couldnt figure out what I had to spend and where it was. (Plus I was dividing the payment methods between cash and card, which also makes it more hassle.) Michelle, my cashier was so helpful, patient, and sweet. I couldn't have asked for a better attendant to help me anywhere. I have certainly been through those situations before, although on the opposite side, working in the service industry, and it takes a certain type of person to be able to handle those moments with grace, ingenuity, and with empathy. This woman was all of those, and more. Most customers become extremely embarrassed and flustered when faced with moments of insecurity. MICHELLE was the reason I was able to not become overwhelmed and horrified in such a moment of instability. Thank you so much Michelle, you are an angel, and I appreciate the competence you displayed within your field and many times, the under appreciated empathetic and humanizing qualities you naturally displayed and offered me that day. You sincerely are one of the best! I hope that your strengths and leadership are recognized more often. You are a role model to those around you...co-workers and customers alike. People will learn from the examples that you set. I always tell people, in order to teach or help most people with anything, you must "live by example." The reason for that is because...words can be said, but actions always speak louder. You are that woman always speaking with her actions.

Ever since Fran left as manager, this store has severely gone downhill. Not all, but most of the staff here are rude,and they like to deceive you by leaving old sale signs up for products only to get to the register to find out that it was last weeks sale. I even had an employee, basically call me a liar to my face not that long ago over this. IF I go back to this store, and this happens again, I will go get the old sign and bring it to the register myself. I know that she just didn't want to honor the sale price and have to explain why. If you did your job correctly in the first place, then this would not happen!

This store seems reasonably stocked. However there are several isles where stuff seems piled together for no real reason than "it kind of goes together". But that's not surprising for DG. The cashier was the only person I ran into and she was very pleasant. The other customers were less so. I can't say that the process in goods was very good. The store seems unkept in general and while the staff is nice I'm not a big fan of Dollar General. One thing to keep in mind is that they will actually charge a premium on lots of items (especially name brand unless there's some kind of sell-out). You can actually pay MORE that local grocery stores for items. But this store itself is just okay. At least it's open later than Dollar Tree or Family Dollar near by.

Today the gentleman behind me in line decided to put his stuff on the counter and dropped his two liter on my toe and didn’t even bother to apologize for hurting my foot. I’m just amazed. When shopping maybe get a cart instead of dropping stuff on peoples feet..

This place use to be so clean and organised. If they would stop leaving the large service carts in the aisles, and organize the store again in a way that makes sense, it would be a 5 star location once more. There is a lack of whole foods at the Albion location, but the West Springfield location has organic and whole foods. That location is also always clean and organized. Albion needs start following that example.

Dollar Generals are rapidly becoming fixtures in every small town. They sell everything from snacks to groceries; auto things like oil to pet stuff like dog leashes. They have cleaning supplies and vacuum cleaner bag. Even some home decorations and seasonal items and, yes, even clothing. Prices are hard to argue with when a big box store may be miles distant and you include the cost of getting there into the cost of purchasing things there. Dollar Generals are your best choice for small in between bigger orders at the humongous mart 20 miles away!

This store has just about everything that you may want or need. Prices are very competitive. It is easy to get in there and get what you want and back on your way. We affectionately refer to it as the "Albion Mall".

On July 11, 2016 I had bought a $25 Xbox card. Upon checking out the cashier kept the card & I said "don't I get to keep the card?" With her reply being "no, the information is printed on the receipt." To make a long story short, the pain # on the receipt didn't work. I had been in the store for the FOURTH time this week trying to get this resolved today being July 16, 2016. All I got was a snotty attitude from the girl who said "well to bad there's no one here to help you till Monday" i was told someone would call me, no one did all week. I'm an extremely upset Customer over this and I feel like I'm being scammed. It should not take TEN DAYS to get something like this resolved. The incompetence & attitude I had received will result in me to never spend another dimr here & I will make sure word of mouth spreads.
