I know I'm reading some things here in the comments about expired and expensive and such like that got to remember this place is a tucked away grocery store basically for a ski community and some very spread out locals they don't go through the product the big stores in the big cities and towns go through. I think they do a great job when you add in all the variables props to you guys 👍 very small town providing a very big service! Keep it up and thanks!(Entitled less, appreciate more 😉)

With all the mixed reviews, I had to check it out myself. This place is expensive!!! About $1-3 per item more than Whole Foods, which I shop often and all over US. Even comparing to remote ski resort markets like in Aspen, this place is more expensive. Selection is limited on healthy and organic choices. When it’s there, you’ll find $8 oat milk. Ya, the price is ridiculous! So I drove 20 min to Sandy’s Safeway instead. The money you save for a week of grocery shopping will be a tank of gas plus more, accounting the gas to Sandy. If you want only a handful of items and are short on time, may be it’s worth it. Also the store name Hoodland “Thriftway” is so misleading, it’s more like Hooldand Robaway. 😂

Excellent selection of beer, something good always on sale in the cooler. Can be a tad pricey for some items but there are deals to be had. Overall a nice little store with everything you'd expect from a neighborhood grocery.

My favorite stop on the way to backpacking, skiing, playing in the snow, etc. Great selection of soda, beer, groceries, protein bars and other sports performance foods, hot deli food, and forest passes. We stop every time we go by.

This place only has a couple downfalls in my opinion. The first being price. It's one of the few grocery stores up the mountain, and it's prices reflect that. It's a bit of a tourist trap, people don't want to have to drive all the way into somewhere like Sandy to get their groceries. So they pay the extra money for the convenience of not having to do so. The second downfall is selection. It's a smaller store, so there's not a huge array of products to chose from, but it will do. Other than that the staff are super friendly and quick at checkout. They also seem to keep the store clean and neat. Would reccomend if you're willing to pay a few extra bucks.

This is a wonderful store with helpful and kind employees. Residents of Welches, Zig Zag and Rhododendron are fortunate to have such a great local store that's packed with everything.

It's small. It's old. But it serves its purpose! And the 60 year old cashier who makes minimum wage and loves to complain about it is my absolute favorite! She needs a raise!! I come here every time I'm in town; and I always leave with a smile. Give her a raise!!

Well stocked store! It seems almost like a department store, minus a clothing section. They had a nice variety of local baked goods, we got a 4 berry pie made in Mt. Hood. Kombucha, Beyond Sausage, even beauty care and a mini vitamins section with goods you might find at new seasons. I don’t fish, but did notice the fishing section but can’t say how good it is. Great wine selection and even an area where you can fill your own growler with CBD drink, cider or beer. Happily surprised!

Every time when we are going to the Mt. Hood or Sunriver, we are stopping at this store. Love to buy very tasty sweet popcorn and raspberry Reed's ginger ale.

Great Thriftway with a small hot deli. Good selection. Growlers with beer and Cider on tap. It is a. it pricey, but the only store without driving 20 minutes out of your way. Friendly staff.

I live near here, and will regularly return cans here. Nearly everytime when a machine malfunctions, it will take 20+ minutes to get any help. Additionally, prices will consistently be marked wrong and/or promotions to save money will not work.

Wow!!!!! Have been going here for years. My visit today was exceptional. The store was cleaner and neater than I have ever seen it!. Great beer selection on tap at the growler station! All the employees we very nice and helpful. Big shout out to the new store manager Rob!! He treated me like the only customer in the world and was very personable and helpful. Highly recommend visiting or revisiting if you have the opportunity. Thanks again Rob!!

Store is great, the meat department is lacking. Bunch of the steak was grey. They did have some amazing looking cuts just not in the potion I was looking for. Not disappointed and the staff is amazing.

It's kind of the epicenter of any commerce in the area. It's prices reflect accordingly, but there's a few breaks to be caught shopping here. I really enjoy their growler station. Checkout has always been quick for me, always had friendly service. Parking can be a hit or miss, but there's ample space in the lot in back. Convenient, provisional, and typically stocked well enough for my needs.

Great place. Great staff. Very friendly. We had some laughs about seeing each other on the mountain the day before. Prices are reasonable and they have a great selection. I don’t drink but did notice they have plenty right there on tap and bottled as well. Great please to find your groceries, necessaries, and whatever you may need wether you live in the mountain or just visiting. You need it they got it!!

Such a good grocery store for being as remote as it is. They really put some effort into having a diverse and exceptional produce selection. Beer and wine selection is top notch. Staff and management are really friendly. They always have good cuts of meat also. On top of that, they're open til midnight so you never have to go without anything when you're staying at the mountain.

Check your receipt and watch what they charge. Not the staffs fault, but they do NOT update barcodes to match deals. Over a dozen times I have had to ask them to adjust the price to the correct price. Holding up the line, being the bad guy. Plus check expiration dates on everything. If you have the time go anywhere in Sandy instead

Thriftway has pretty much everything you need. The store has gone through amazing changes lately and the flow of the store is good and the products are good too. You sure do pay the price as prices are a bit steep.
