Please tell me it’s not so!! Just went in for some bug spray to take care of a problem. The price was $7.59 on the shelf as usual a little high but it is a remote location. Went up to the counter he rang me up at $8.99 for both of my items I didn’t think about it until the last minute. After I paid I walk back to the shelf just to make sure and true enough it is $7.59.As usual, I asked the cashier to reimburse me for the difference because the law is you only pay the price that is advertised or as stated on the shelf. He refused to do so.Let’s say that again, he refused to give me the difference. He stated most of the items now in the store are incorrect until they redo the inventory. He pulled out a dollar, let me give you a dollar then if that’ll make you happy, he put it on the counter, I said no it won’t make me happy,I said what would make me happy if you would please charge the prices that you advertising.They should at least put a disclaimer saying all the prices in the store are not accurate.. They have us residents in Waldport held hostage and they know it. It also felt like he enjoyed demeaning me as a customer. Sad that this attitude towards people is everywhere.

On this occasion, I visited to buy 2 small sink accessories and easily found them. The cashier greeted me pleasantly and I must have appeared to know what I was after, since he didn't ask if I needed help. In general, I find this store to be well stocked and the staff fairly helpful. It has been my general impression that they are a bit overpriced.

The employees are the rudest, most unhelpful and lazy bunch I've ever seen. Every time I visit, I get attitude from them, rather than a simple answer to my question, and I've never been taken to where a product is, even though there are multiple guys lazing about the register, and I'm the only person in the store. Ace hardware is a good store, just not this branch! The two in Lincoln city are awesome!

Employees are very helpful. The store is under remodel, and corporate did a poor job of organizing it. It created chaos within the store, and it was very difficult to find what you're looking for.

I decided never to purchase anything again from this store due to how rude the workers are. I went into the store with my mask on. A worker asked me to put the mask over my nose, which I did. I started walking to the isle with the product and another gal working there said I needed to put the mask over my nose again and it was not below my nose. This happened within a matter of 5 seconds. I immediately left and did not purchase anything due to these workers.

This is an incredibly weird store. The associates are friendly and nice, I'm guessing the strangeness comes from the owner. Someone writes the price on every single nut and bolt with a sharpie, that must take hours upon hours, maybe they don't trust customers. Second of all for the past year they have been hoarding ammo, saying you can't buy it unless you buy a firearm. That is logical, but when they have ammo that they don't have guns for it doesn't make sense. Other stores set some boxes aside in the back for gun purchasing customers, not out front. I guess the ammo is just there to look at, like a museum.

One of the scariest places I have gone into recently. As I was looking for what I needed I encountered a young family, a man and woman with 2 small children, none of which were wearing a mask. Of course I don't blame a toddler for not having a mask, way too young. And I can understand a child of 4 or 5 not having one also. But I blame the parents, who neither were wearing a mask, for bringing the children in the store and allowing them to run around by themselves.The scary part, or maddening really, was when I calmly & quietly asked the rather large young man who appeared to be in charge why he didn't enforce the sign outside the store saying a mask is required in the store. He just ignored my question, so I asked again why he didn't ask the couple and kids to put on a mask or leave and he answered "because I don't have to".I am in my 70's, so I see this as dangerous to me and other seniors. My decision is to NEVER go in that store again.Enter at your own risk.

Can I give them negative stars? I have always disliked going here because they are not-helpful, rude and expensive. There is one nice and helpful guy but the rest seem to act like it is inconvenient that there are customers they have to help. I have been going because it is close to my house but I think will stop and go to Copeland or head north to Barrel Head. It is worth the time and gas money to not have to shop here.

When I moved to Waldport in the fall I thought this was a great little store and the young clerks were respectful and friendly and very knowledgeable about where to find what I was looking for. But over the past 8 months there's definitely been a change in tone for the worse. I know everyone is tired of COVID and the restrictions. Maybe that's it. But you can see from the reviews lately that it's not just my perception. I imagine anyone who has to work in customer service is fed up with the anti-maskers and adamant maskers. Still, there is a cause and effect for how you treat customers and Copeland's isn't that far down the road.

Didn’t find what I was looking for (a rotary tool/Dremel) but I looked online before hand and knew they likely didn’t have one. I did find another tool I thought would work, but didn’t. Very friendly service, but I think their register may have been malfunctioning or is just a bit old and slow.

Prior to Covid this place would have gotten a 4 star review because they are just kinda meh... But they have very expensive ice cold beer for sale in coolers as soon as you walk in the joint!So they get some cool points for that...Otherwise, if you are NOT into social distancing and into sharing tiny cramped spaces with others who still believe Covid is a hoax (and personal hygiene is also a myth) -- this Ace is the place for you!I spend the extra fuel dollars and drive to Newport...

Ace everywhere is expensive, but this one seems to tack on another 10% to their prices. Staff is always nice, a bit on the gruff and unprofessional side, but I guess that's what is to be expected from a locally owned franchise. They have a good selection so if you just need something small and quicker than getting up to Newport, this is your best (only) bet.

This hardware store is well stocked for a small town on the coast. The staff is helpful and friendly. The manager Wendy is very knowledgeable and can help you find or order just about anything you would need for any project. There prices are comparable to Copeland's,but have much bigger selection.

I went into the store to purchase just a couple items so I did not grab a cart or a basket. I should have known better. I ended up walking around the store with an armload of items that where much too heavy and awkward to carry when a wonderful female employee came to my rescue as I was headed to the checkout counter. She came rushing down the aisle and helped carry my unexpected purchases to the counter. I thought "Wow! Now this is customer service." Unfortunately I did not get her name but I wish I could thank her again.

High prices and awful employees. Go anywhere else. Copeland Lumber or the Ace Hardware in Newport have better prices and are actually willing to assist you instead of acting like you area burden, insulting you or treating you like a criminal if you try to make a return.

This ACE harware store is unique to any other ACE I've been in with guns and beer along with well supplied for projects (I was out of town working on a log home for a few weeks) having everything I needed for my project. The personnel was helpful and up for welcoming small talk. All in all an awesome ACE store.
