Had a wonderful tour at the white wolf sanctuary. On a mountain East of Waldport. They have 5 beautiful wolves there right now. We got to see them all! And our kids loved it.

My visit to the White Wolf Sanctuary was nothing short of incredible! The wolves are truly majestic creatures, and seeing them up close was a dream come true. The knowledgeable guide (Nicole was amazing and very knowledgeable) made the experience even more special with their amazing insights and passion for these magnificent animals. From start to finish, the entire visit was simply awesome. I highly recommend this sanctuary to anyone who appreciates the beauty of nature and wildlife. It's an unforgettable experience that will leave you in awe.Restrooms: Restrooms on site

Really informative and lots of good insight into behaviours and history of US wolves in the two hour talk on the deck. Weather was beautiful and my 12 year old loved our visit too. $25/child & $75/12+ Great gift shop with lots of choices as well :D Would have preferred more time enjoying the animals in their enclosures though.

Highly recommend! Definitely worth admission price. An hour long presentation full of interesting facts and details followed by a tour of the beautiful property. Were able to see all six of the amazing Wolves! Nicola and her daughter were excellent tour guides!

Probably the best Sanctuary I've ever been to, being provided a sweet balance of luscious acreage, and superb knowledge about wolves in general (far more than I can comprehend), all this thanks to Nicola. Sakkari was the one who stole the show for our tour, although (unknown name) would be a close second in my opinion.

Our visit to White Wolf Sanctuary was a truly amazing experience. We learned so much and we were able to see 5 out of the 7 wolves that currently live at WWS. Our host Nicola was so welcoming and knowledgeable. In seeing how the wolves interact with her, it is obvious how well she treats them and how fond they are of her.My family of 4 (husband, 19 year old son, 19 year old stepson and myself) all agree that this was BY FAR the highlight of our Oregon Coast vacation, and well worth the cost.

TL;DRI would recommend this to others, but you should know this isn't a zoo experience and is more like a non-profit than entertainment.I brought my wife and kids for a 10am tour. We parked on the main road at the base of their private road, we jumped in the guide's Ford Explorer (clean, felt safe) and drive up the road to the sanctuary.Once there we immediately saw three of the wolves. We were then offered free cold waters. We sat through a very informative presentation about wolves and related animals. Then we walked around the property learning about the sanctuary and the wolves and how they're fed and taken care of. The guide clearly knows what she's talking about and cares deeply. There was only one wolf we didn't get a look at, but hey, I'm really happy they have a place where they can opt in to how they interact with the public. They seem really well taken care of.You aren't guaranteed to see the wolves. Think about it like this: you're trading a little money that the sanctuary will use to take care of the wolves and in exchange you learn about wolves, wolf rescue and conservation efforts, and you'll probably see/hear some wolves while you're there. Keep your expectations set appropriately.Restrooms: They have clean restrooms for visitors.Dog-friendliness: You can't bring your dogs to this wolf sanctuary. That should be expected.

White Wolf sanctuary is truly doing good work and if you get an opportunity to take a tour, it is surely worth it. The education alone and information I received about wolves was fantastic.

Part of the interesting experience is the 1.5 mile drive on a two track to the the mountain-top sanctuary. The guide was very knowledgeable and committed to the wolves. The sanctuary had a tough winter and as of mid June 2023 was still repairing some of the wolf runs. They're hoping to add new residents to replace those that have passed away from old age. The number of resident wolves listed on their website isn't current.

Visited today with my family. Getting to go on a tour was a birthday present from them and it was amazing! Our guide, Nicola, was so knowledgeable and you could see all the love she has for the wolves. We really loved learning about wolves in general and how important they are to nature. We also loved seeing the wolves there getting to be themselves, it's clear their comfort and well-being are top priorities.Definitely worth the 4 hour round-trip we took!

Fabulous visit and amazing to see and hear the wolves. We were educated on the endangered status of wolves the recovery efforts and the efforts of this sanctuary. Upon arrival we were greeted by our guide, everyone collected and we did a fun 4x4 caravan up the mountain to the sanctuary. Before even getting out, two wolves followed the fences to the parking. We got to see the beautiful wolves, got barked at!! And as we were wrapping up, a chorus of howls went off. Totally worth it.

Be sure and check out the White Wolf Sanctuary near Waldport, Oregon. The guide was terrific and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing and learning about the wolves. The countryside is absolutely gorgeous, too.

Our tour guide, Nicola, was very knowledgeable and friendly, and it was clear she cares deeply for the wolves and is devoted to them and the organization. The animals seemed extremely well-cared for. I really liked hearing about wolves in general and the history of wolves in Oregon and the region.Truly a one-of-a-kind experience to get to see these animals up close in such an intimate setting. They do have a small gift shop and we were able to get within a few feet of the wolves, but interaction (touching/petting) is not allowed per Oregon Fish & Wildlife Dept. regulations.

I volunteered at white wolf for a week, the owner didn't want me to arrive until 10 am. I found that very curious. I also found it disturbing that at the time, the Wolves were being fed 15 pounds of food 3 times a day, every day. That's 45 pounds of food.It was very obvious that the "owner" disliked men, and through that dislike the Wolves were less trusting of male volunteers. As the Wolves were individually fed over 300 pounds of food a week, they were fat and lethargic. The "owner" insisted that the third feeding should be after dark, which meant that we were approaching wolf enclosures when we shouldn't have been. The reasoning for the night feedings was that the Ravens were stealing food from the Wolves. lol.

I wanted to come here sometime last year but they had been snowed in and the roads were somewhat inaccessible. So I came here on the 19th of February to celebrate my birthday with my partner and a few friends. Nicola was such a fantastic host, I really enjoyed the informative talk about wolves in general and their impact on rivers, conservation, and their rightful place in our wild places. The wolves themselves were very well cared for speaking as a veterinary professional, I was pleasantly surprised at how they were housed and cared for.

I came across the White wolf sanctuary while doing a Google map search of area attractions looking for things to do with family visiting from the east coast. This was an amazing experience and worth the cost. Nicola, our guide was awesome. She was amazing and patient with my 8yr old nephew and his inquisitive nature. She began the tour by educating on wolves and their importance in ecological balance in the world. She then told us about each of the resident wolves and how they came to live there. Then you get to go around the grounds and see them. They are magnificent creatures. I learned so much in the 2 hours we were there. This is a must do.

The host Nichola was so awesome! The wolves were loved and well cared for. This is the epitome of a sanctuary. There is passion, thought and love put into every aspect of the wolves lives. I enjoyed this rare experience in life and look forward to more visits!

It's good to see this in a state where human overpopulation is accepted as progress while a handful of wolves are feared and shot by rural zealots who think non-native livestock is sacred.

Disappointed. We were told this place was fun many years ago when our friend went. She spent hours walking around with her guide and saw many wolves up close. We went into this experience with open minds and we expected a fun experience for the $200 we paid. This place apparently lost its soul and spark when the founder retired. We met our guide at an abandoned, dilapidated gas station, she led us up a very sketchy road, and locked the gate behind us so we could not leave until she let us out. Next, we sat getting eaten alive by mosquitos for over 90 minutes while our guide lectured at us about the importance of wolves. We then spent 30 minutes slowly walking around the enclosures and saw 4 wolves through giant hurricane fences (only 1 within 20 feet of us), all of whom looked miserable, while the guide explained that it was all the faults of the males in our group that more wolves didn’t want to come out. It was a bust and we felt trapped. Definitely not worth $200 or the 2.25 hours we can’t get back.

I booked this spontaneously while traveling down the coast; it was advertised on Airbnb experiences. I didn’t know what to expect and had low expectations. I knew next to nothing about wolves. It turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip and I learned a lot! The wolves are ethically cared for and the volunteers are so passionate and knowledgeable. I recommend this to anyone in the area and it is appropriate for all-ages. It took about 2 hours total.

Nicola was amazing. She knew her information on the wolves and the nature of them. She shared her knowledge well and clearly and the wolves seem happy and well cared for. Nicola obviously loved the wolves there and in general. It was refreshing to be around others who see wolves as beautiful essential creature like I always have. Great job!

Informative, educational presentation about how wolves contribute to an ecosystem and the complexity of issues surrounding wolf/human interactions. Our 5th-8th-grade students enjoyed expanding their knowledge and getting to see the wolves up close. They came away with a deeper understanding of the natural world, thanks to the wide-ranging information by our guide, Nichola, the beautiful setting, and the presence of the magnificent wolves.

I have been coming to this Sanctuary for years. Each time, it has been an incredible, spiritual moment that I have shared with them. I just recently brought my Grandchildren to share this with me. On the ride home, both were very quiet. My Grandson finally spoke, saying that was "amazing". Both want return with me to volunteer this summer.I have found the staff very dedicated to ensure that their charges have the best possible nurturing and care. They also are very protective, as they should be.I had the pleasure of meeting Lois, and, she was a hard taskmaster when teaching me the basics so long ago. I have so many good memories. She embodies the spirit of someone who has a vision, and, brings it to frurition, no matter what. I so admire her.I would encourage anyone to go to share this strong spiritual encounter.
