Early afternoon on Sept. 22, I received the wrong vaccine shot (flu instead of the latest COVID) at Safeway Pharmacy in The Dalles. After my spouse and I filled out the lengthy paperwork and spent an hour in the waiting room (the Pharmacy was busy), we finally got our shots. But the assistant (Toni) who administered my shot glibly dismissed my request for her to enter the vaccine information on my COVID card, saying that “we don’t bother with doing that anymore”. (Had she done so, the error presumably would have been caught right then and there.) It was only hours later that I discovered a voicemail from the pharmacist (Greg Warner) asking me to call back. He said that they had discovered their vaccine mistake minutes after we left, and profusely apologized for it. Several internet websites indicate that occurrences of administering the wrong vaccine are “rare”. Regardless, whichever facility you may choose for receiving your shots, you may well want to triple-check what vaccines(s) you are to about to receive. Obviously, staff should already be doing this, themselves, but ---!

This is the worst pharmacy I’ve ever dealt with. I’ve been trying to get meds filled here for 2 weeks transferred from another Safeway. Today they have a paper sign hanging that says they are opening “around 3pm”. I’ve come twice today, and now there is a huge line. They never answer the phone when you call. What a nightmare. I am definitely switching to another pharmacy.

If you need to get medication in a hurry, don't use this pharmacy. There were waits of more than an hour 2 days in a row and I ended up having to go elsewhere to get my generic prescription filled.

Out if stock and items after 4 weeks are still nor in. But Rite Aid has it. Today almost an hour in line for something you consistently fill wrong. No line at Rite Aid. Time to move ALL my biz to a better place

As bad as any other with robo-calls and text messaging service advises Customers to retrieve product only to turn us away empty handed after waiting in line. Best excuse recently came from a female Tech, Toni, who told me my insurance changed your group number! She actually thought I'd believe Regence BCBS changed all of Wasco County employees group number... Lying to cover their tracks, the harassment never ends. Truth is my prescription was sold to someone else within the 24-hours I went there to retrieve it. To remedy the impact of their insults, hire a courier to absorb the abuse and with any luck, pick up your meds.

I've ALWAYS had great experiences at The Dalles Safeway PH. Greg, Toni, Bettie and "Mr Pharmacists" (I forget his name be he knows who he is😁) Last Thursday one of my RX refills was sent to a random Safeway. I think he was Hermiston. I called the pharmacy and Greg told me my refills had expired. I said OK and went to call my Dr, while calling him Greg called me back again and said he double checked and noticed the refill was sent to Hermiston. He PROMPTLY called that store and had them voided the refill and he had it done and fixed within 1hr. I've noticed they always go above and beyond for their customers. Hands down the best & pharmacy in our little town. Thank you for all your hard work! We appreciate YOU!

The pharmacist Is unstable. She, Genie Wood, has very erratic, negative outbursts towards other staff. This is nothing new as she displayed the same behavior when working at KMart.Also, the pharmacy tech, Toni, is very demeaning to those she should be training. She has displayed disdain in front of customers which doesn't help at all. She needs to go!

2/18/2021, 2:15pm. Waited 40 minutes in line and all the prescriptions were not ready even when they had 48 hours to have them ready. Huge line of people while people shopping have to consistently go in between people to get their items. Horrible setup, slow, and disorganized. Walgreens is basically right across the street. Go there. Safeway pharmacy is a joke.

2/18/21, 2:30pm. If you want to wait 30 mins in line, come to this pharmacy. Waited for 30 minutes to get to the counter. At least 12 people were in line behind me trying to get their prescriptions during a snow storm and trying to get back on the road before the snow became worse. Good luck.When I got to the counter, they still didn't have all the prescriptions ready that they had 48 hours to prepare. Waited another 10 minutes while they tried to figure out how to get the right medication while at the same time making a HIPPA viloation by speaking loudly across the pharmacy asking what so and so medication was for.Incompetent, disorganized, and SLOW. Walgreens is way better, faster, and has a drive-through. Don't waste your time at Safeway.

Service here can be generally slow. But that's kind of the nature of pharmacies. Staff is friendly. And I've never been given the wrong prescription. From the places you can get prescriptions in The Dalles this isn't a bad spot if you're especially if you don't mind shopping while you wait.

great staff and as far as speed goes it's comparable to every other Pharmacy I've ever been to it's the nature of Pharmacy work there's always going to be time delays people giving them one star for something they can't help is rude

On Friday, 9 Jan 2015, walked in for a new prescription fill. Promised in one hour. It was actually two hours and ten minutes before the medication was dispensed. I would recommend hiring more staff.

I have been a loyal customer for years but the way this pharmacy has been operated lately made me finally change pharmacies they are constantly late getting your prescriptions even when you order them days in advanceI take medications for my heart and when I run out because of their incompetence it threatens my lifeI would give them zero stars if I couldOn the plus side they do have friendly staff

If you want the definition of incompetence, use this pharmacy. They couldn't get anything right if their lives depended on it. A word of advice; there's a Walgreens in the Dalles.
