I've worked in a lot of restaurants and food industries, this place is so so wasteful it sickens me. The employees are embarrassed to say their owners. The dumpster has the most beautiful food filled to the top. SAD

(Updated): (A simple reply to this review does not make up for 1 year of being severely mistreated by management because they know it's your first job and needing it)I remember working here as my first real job. 2019-2020Such a terrible first job experience.I was mistreated, threatened and verbally abused by the Asst Mgr. "Mr" Firestone and his friend who was a supervisor before his stroke, Derald.He told me to "just quit" after he accused me of losing his name tag LOL. And made false police reports for "egging" the store. Like anyone is stupid enough to do so.Made private phone calls to his police buddies who pulled us over repeatedly, harassing me on purpose and always questioning me about the "egging vandalism" and threatening us with felonies (while having body cams active)(You're a coward Clay)Then later after i refused to speak to the two officers harassing me, Firestone approached me, while i was off the clock as a customer by the checkstands,And told me to "step outside real quick" as a form of threatening me in front of several staff and customers while taking his jacket off. (We all know what what people mean when they say "step outside")Anyways. Want a job? Go to Dollar General. They pay exactly the same, but have an AMAZING General Manager.

Not a bad selection. A bit pricey compared to stores in Roseburg but they are good when you need something and don’t want to drive all the way to town.

Meat department to be avoided . If you look closely you'll see flying insects that are dead in this meat counter.

Not sure what issue is....maybe lack of competent workers or lack of caring, but for the last 2 days I have tried to do cans and bottles and the person taking care of machines was rude as well obviously not wanting to do the job they were hired for, so I didn't do them. Went inside to purchase 2 items and cash register person was more worried about what was happening with 2 flirting girls then their job. This morning I come back to do cans and went in to ask if machines were down and it took 2 employees more than 3 minutes to quit talking to even notice someone had come into the store. So...yes, whatever it is the employees do, they are not there to do there jobs! That sucks. Roseburg is not so close that those people that are forced to shop here can go elsewhere. Good thing there isn't any competition.

Shop Smart is THE place to get groceries in SUTHERLIN. The staff work hard to please the customers and are always friendly and helpful.

Prices still high but they did upgrade appearance looks more inviting and some prices have down recently. Not to impressed with Deli though. Staff is friendly but deli options not very large and I don't like their cheap frosting.

Omg I forgot to buy romaine lettuce at Safeway for $3.99 went to smart shop store for 3pack romaine lettuce and paid $7.99 anyone see a problem with this? I feel bad for the seniors and sure hope a new store comes to Sutherlin for fair shopping. Talk about price gouging....

Really really expensive. I bought a small head of cauliflower and 6 large bananas and it cost me almost $7. When you live in a small town you're kind of stuck once in awhile. They do have most everything though, and good service.

This is essentially a Ray’s so the everyday prices are pretty high but they also have good sales sometimes, especially if you have the all access rewards app.I had to run in for a few items one day while in a hurry and managed to find everything I needed pretty quickly even with all the covid arrows.

I went to this market to buy items for a Christmas Party. Bought 6 avocados,Vine Tomatoes, along with other items..The Avocados were all rotten inside, Tomatoes were all water with hardly any normal insides.WHEN MY WIFE BROUGHT THEM BACK AND TOLD THE PRODUCE MANAGER, HIS HIS STATEMENTS WERE“Maybe your husband needs to learn how to pick out Avocados.” About the tomatoes, he told her “ maybe he should buy better tomatoes. I support local, but hard to with this kind of attitude and product problemsEd

The diverse products are great! It's the price on just about everything. Too much money for the same items in any other store. Maybe not every store. Since it's one of the grocery stores we, the people who lives in Sutherlin, must shop at, I feel they have taken advantage of me.

The deli does not take good care of the food at all. I’m done with them. Tired of wasting money and tired of regretting my choice to go there again. I don’t like brown, slimy, soggy lettuce in my salad. It’s at the bottom under the carrots, cheese and ranch cup, so you can’t tell if it’s nasty until you open it. The Tomatoes are always gross also. Almost broke my teeth on the pizza sticks, and the chicken is not always done. ;( it’s a shame.... good luck to the next person

Convenient, many Organic choices, Bakery, Deli with booths to sit and eat, good meat dept, happy with the choices. And the people who work there are helpful and friendly! Prices are high for some things.

This is the only full grocery store in Sutherlin and it's not bad as far as selection goes. You could probably find just about everything you're looking for here, but at a higher price than some of the grocery stores in Roseburg. The staff is usually pretty friendly, and it's usually not very busy so you can be in and out pretty quick.

I watched as the gray haired old lady in the deli just tossed my chicken dinner in the paper bag. With the box of chicken on top of the rolls no less.Now, we've gotten the chicken dinner there I would say a dozen or more times and have never had it bagged like that EVER... Just another reason not to shop there. It's already so over priced.

Prices are to high. I think Safeway is even less expensive. More or less get it there if don't want to drive to Roseburg. Otherwise wise Sherms and Walmart and Grocery Outlet is the best for your money.

Too expensive and not great produce, but I love that they sell products and can goods from Save A Lot. Diane's Garden tomato sauce is the best for making homemade salsa and pastas. Friendly and helpful staff.

Nice employees but the prices are way too high on every thing. For myself it's just a place to grab 1 or 2 things. Definitely not a place to do your main shopping at.

Friendly customer service. Produce looked good. Items are a little bit pricey, but a great stop for a few items to make it through to the next trip to Roseburg.

The Sutherlin Shop Smart takes advantage of Sutherlin resident's. They charge at least 25% more for most of their products. The low income and retired that have no other place to shop are getting ripped off. Shame on you shop smart.

On 6/3/17, two young ladies were exceptionally helpful with 3 Sutherlin High graduation cakes. In addition, they fixed two after they were damaged. All of the staff were very friendly & helpful.

Hidden gem in Sutherlin. I was not sure if I could find some of the foods I eat but I did. They have great produce and a good selection of meat. They have amazing customer service too. We love coming here.

Lots of things are priced high, and sometimes it's slow at the checkout. Otherwise it's a decent store that has most of the essentials and lovely staff.

The remodel is a big asset to this business. Nothing to write home about though. Prices are a high, but a good and long established community business. Hope they survive.

The employees hassle you about a mask but they are wearing adhoc stuff. Plastic shields that do little or nothing or mask that are not CDC approved or look like they have been wearing them for sometime. If the store is going to be the mask police at least they can police the employees. Plastic shields and amazon masks just doesn't make the cut if your saying your following the law.

Small town store with deli and meat sections. Vegetables always look good. Prices can be on the higher side and you can't always find what you're looking for. I shop here as often as I can.
