We brought our RV for a brief stay in Sumpter, OR. We were so pleased with the camp host, Sherry. She welcomed us and gave recommendations for walks and fun things to do on-site. She saw the kids making a lean-to and and encouraged them to enjoy the space. They had a blast!! So much fun hearing them laugh and run through the trails!!My husband, formerly employee of State Parks, said bathrooms were in the best condition he's ever seen.We rented an extra site so we can invite family for a barbecue. They mentioned the bathroom families being the best they've ever seen, too.Thank you Sherry, for making it a wonderful trip. We will be back!

A full feature RV park nested in the trees. Very nice people run this place. The park is very quiet. There is a trail north of the RV site, that offers a great place to walk your dogs.Propane is available, along with ice and wood, both of the latter are available on the "honor" system, put your money in a jar. Nice.The price was nice too for FHU. One of those RV parks that we can come back too with no hesitation.On talking to Ron the owner, the subject of gold came up. He lent me a shovel, pointed to a pile and suggested panning. So I did, not much gold but for a couple of flakes, but that made my day!

This is an absolute gem!! Lots of really big spots, many are pull through, but all have plenty of space around them for all kinds of outdoor activities. There are very clean bathrooms on site, laundry, ice to purchase, dump station, and full hookups plus WiFi and cable at each site. Feels like you're tucked nicely into the woods, but there is so much to do within a very short drive. Great family location!

In late July of 2023, as we pulled into the Sumpter RV park campground, the transmission on our Ford Escape stopped working and we had to have the vehicle towed into Baker City for repair (Blue Mountain Towing was great, Mike Bork Auto Repair was great). The RV park owner/manager used his own vehicle to tow our little trailer into a spot, where my wife stayed while I spent the night and next day in Baker City. They were very helpful at the RV park - plus, several of the others staying in the RV park checked up on my wife to see if she needed any supplies, even offering a ride into town. Considering that having a car break down on vacation is not fun, this was a great place to be stuck! Would stay there again, for sure.

Trying to schedule two tent groups, an RV and good weather for a 7 day trip can be a challenge. We spent 3 great days in fickle June weather and decided to see what our end destination looked like. Sumpter had the best outlook but we had only scheduled one night there. Thankfully Sheri and Ron saved the day. They managed to fit us in 3 days early with minimal adjustments to sites so we could all be together. They were extremely accommodating on such short notice and made us feel like it was just the way they operated. They even allowed us to leave our gear until after the Saturday morning train ride so we didn’t have to worry about it sitting out in the open. Everything about our visit to Sumpter was fantastic thanks to Sheri and Ron.

We stayed at Sumpter RV Park for 4 days for the Cam-Am Maverick Trail Rendezvous rides. Sherry the Parks Owner is friendly and was available anytime for questions or help. The showers, restrooms and laundry facilities super clean. As an RV traveler We found this site as the best one ! Shade for hot days, area to play games, trails for SXS to town. Propane and Ice 24 hrs. a day available. Full hook up, wifi , & cable! Off the main Freeway route in Oregon but well worth it , a hidden treasure deserving a more star rating than 5!!

We have been coming to this Campground since 2006, We loved the old owners and felt like family, it sold last year we were a little nervous the new owners, but they are fabulous. The campground is wonderful. I love the fact that they have laundry facilities and showers and nice clean restrooms for guests only. It makes a big difference how nice and clean they are.

What a wonderful place to stay! We came on a rainy weekend in our tent trailer worried that our stuff would get wet or that we would have to fold up a wet tent trailer. Ron and Sherry the new owners accommodated us by having us stay under the roofed space that they usually store their trailer under. We still had all the amenities water, power, wifi, picnic table, portable fire pit, cable and stayed dry the entire trip. Don and Sherry are absolutely wonderful hosts and wonderful people! While we were there we got to see deer right in our camp spot and the wild turkey even cruised though a couple times. The bathrooms were very well kept and the showers were perfect temperature. We did not use the laundry room, but it was very well taken care of too. Our Verizon phone service worked well there. Propane, ice and RV dump were also available and not overpriced. The park overall was well maintained with a dirt/gravel road and there was no dust or mud puddles. Our space was a pull through that was nice and level. They have excellent security and I was comforted that our stuff was safe while we were out exploring. What a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. We will absolutely be returning to vacation there again! 5 STARS

Plusses: Really friendly, helpful, welcoming, and accommodating owners. Help with late check in and parking after dark. Nice shade. Great laundry room. Nice little gift and supply shop. Felt safe leaving our trailer there for a week. Was able to get mail and packages there. Beautiful landscaping. Nice grassy common area with BBQ and games.Minuses: Political affiliation is public. All pads and road are dirt, so it can get a bit dusty.Other: We were in spot 1, which has a steep, downhill entry, so our generator tray scraped bottom. Not a big deal. Just something to be aware of.

What is not to love? First and foremost the owners are the nicest, most accommodating, friendly people you will ever meet. Second, the place is absolutely immaculate. The bathrooms, in particular, are some of the cleanest I have ever been in. But the grounds too. Well groomed, well kept and well designed. The spots are set back in trees and so it feel like you are far more "off the beaten path" than you are. It was a perfect stay and I highly recommend!

This RV and camp spot park is top knotch! We stayed two nights with Cheri and Ron, the awesome owners who take care of your every wish or desire, the vibe is really great. The place is decorated and also the restrooms and showers are spotless. Learning about gold panning with Ron was awesome and my dogs loved Cheri and her treats. Super nice people. Their passion for their works shines through at every corner of the place, don’t miss this place if you are in the area!

This RV park is wonderful. Large comfortable spaces. The owners are the nicest most helpful people. Make you feel at home. The park is spotless. Excellent amenities. We love it here so much we extended our stay for another week and we have booked for a month next year.Thank you Sherry and Ron for a fun relaxing trip😊

My family and I stayed there over Memorial Weekend. The park was full but the new owners Ron and Sherry were very helpful and nice. Even though they were busy working on projects throughout the park they never made us feel like we were intruding. They even cleaned up the tent sites that weren't on their immediate priority list so we had the extra space needed for our stay. We really appreciate that.The facilities and grounds were the cleanest I have ever seen. They really strive to make you feel welcomed and appreciate your business. Sherry always had a smile and a dog treat for our two pups.We will definitely stay there again. We highly recommend this place.Ron and Sherry thank you so much for everything!

This place is fantastic. The hosts were very accomodating. I picked a difficult spot for us to back into and asked to be relocated and the new spot was great. We will be back with our 4 wheelers next time. Bathrooms were spotless and Sherry loves her landscapes!!Thanks Sherry and Ron :)

Nice enough place for most of the guests I suppose. Was stuck in the back with the permanent residents in their storage area. Owner said it was the only option for what I reserved. I would have chosen something else if given the choice, rather than stay where I did. There was a camera facing right at my RV door which didn't feel good . I would recommend clarifying your site's location before Making your reservation.

Ron the owner is great. So far the best park we have been to, with a gracious welcome and follow through with commitments. Very clean showers and heated restrooms. Hoping to return soon. Has a funny sign in the shower. " Hot showers 25 cents" So I taped a quarter just above the sign, see if it is there we return

My husband, boys and I stayed at Sumpter Pines as part of our maiden voyage with a new 43” coach. The new owners of the RV park were so lovely… first, we struggled to park in our designated spot… and the owners quickly gave us a different site. Our sewer hose was just inches too short, and they had an additional hose stocked, which was so helpful. Also, our pigtail was not compatible with GFI, and we ran down all of our power sources. Ron helped my husband assess the situation and they gave us a different cable that powered us right up!We had so many frustrations… to include a broken slide… and Ron and Sherry were right there to help with our needs. The grounds are lovely and well kept. The laundry room is bright and clean with single detergents and dryer sheets stocked for purchase. The bathrooms were operational and so clean! Showers were great!The RV Park is beautiful, as well as Sumpter… but, Ron and Sherry are bringing their hearts to this place and we were so blessed by them! We will be back next year to see them and their beautiful property! Thank you Ron and Sherry… for lightening our worries and sharing your kindnesses!

Hospitality Plus! Down home folks from driveup to driveout! This place is as neat, clean and well managed as any camp ground we've encountered in over 50 years of rv ing. Reasonable rates, neat clean restroom/showers plus laundry!Nearby activities: Short drive to Sumpter ,Dredge and narrow Gguage railroadSafety: Spacious camp spots located close and around owners home and office!Walkability: Walking around trails, abundant wildlife, deer,elk,variety of birds, cotton tail rabbits etc.

We stopped to stay here, but they wouldn't take us. Some my family members needed to use the bathroom but they refused to let them go, even though they had no policy on "Paying visitors only". Some of the staff we encountered were rude too. Left almost as soon as we got there.... shame though, it looked pretty and comfortable.

Best place to dump in town. After dry camping with the travel trailer we always stop to empty the tanks before our journey home. The camp is always neat and clean. Security cameras everywhere and easy pull thru trailer sites. Best place in town to get propane too.

We stayed here the final night of an 8-night RV trip. This was by far the best camping experience we had. It was clean and lots of room. The new management was hard at work making improvements. We'd definitely stay here again.

We have stayed with the current owners for 6 years. An excellent experience. Great ATV riding, Flea Markets on the holiday weekends of summer, history buffs galore.The owners are always ready to help in any matter. We respect them for their honesty and character.We stay 3-4 weeks each summer.
